Tearfull, I get the impression that you want Coldplay to become some sort of Radiohead 2.0, but they are their own band with their own identity, and the subject matter is partly what defines them really. I have a feeling they will branch out more with this album in most aspects of their music, but don't expect them to change completely. Very few bands fully reinvent themselves and get away with it (exceptions being radiohead and a few others). Give them time to grow and mature beyond this album as this first shift of gear will probably show some growing pains.

I havn't heard of that trilogy, but then again I'm not an avid follower of there's. Is it as good as their other stuff? To be anticipating it more than LP4, it must be pretty special. Probably should take this convo to the entertainments section, people are propbably getting sick of reading our life stories :laugh1: No midnight post, no. But we're getting close to something, I'm sure of it.

I posted mainly in the lounge when i first got here. Or rather I used this section and the lounge equally. They were mostly pointless nonsensical posts though :laugh1: I had a flick through my oldest posts and it was like I was a different poster. It wasn't until after i had a 5 month break from this place when I started posting in other places (Worlf of Music, etc), so it still feels a little new in some ways. But im definately at home here! Anyway, the entry is either gonna happen or it isnt, so all we can do is sit back and let it happen i think.

^Its a really cool film. Hard to believe that one of my friends didn't like it. Well he said he thought SOTD was 10x better. They're both really great though.

^Haha, yes very fitting ;) . Although we seem to be the only ones who prefer the Coldplay section to the rest of the forums, so its no surprise that we bump into each other fairly often. Keep the faith, Chelsea! I have a good feeling about this week.

Love that film (although I like Hot fuzz ever so slightly more). What surprised me is that they posted 2 stars in one day! How cool is that!

Oh wait, you're right... The link used to be below that Garden State article. They must have fixed that. But are you sure that was posted today with the garden state one? EDIT: Ive just done a search, and you're right, it was posted today. Which means a higher chance of a prospekt entry this week. See my poor attempt at an analysis on the subject.

^Well maybe. Though I would have thought that having let RS listen to some of their new songs and allowing them to leak lyrics, they probably wouldn't have too much of a problem dropping a little hint of when this stuff actually comes out. Unless RS made the whole report up, then I think we have to give it some consideration. But I don't deny the potential speculation in the article. I say wait until the end of the week, maybe Prospekt has written the entry already and we'll see it surface in a couple of days. [/wishful_thinking]

Well, unless there have been delays that they've kept quiet about (remember the "deadline still stands" comment?) then I can't see why they would release it later than May. And since there have been several reports indicating a similar release date, ie Rolling Stone, Q magazine, then surely the band themselves said in interviews that they were on schedule. Would the band allow these articles to say a May/June release when they know its later? I'm not convinced. But if we don't have any details by the end of the week, I'll start to wonder if there is a delay of some kind. I don't really know what to think anymore to be honest.

RSS feeds would save me so much time, as I have constant urges to check the site when I'm on the computer. Not an hour goes by when I don't check the site... its crazy. As for the 'considering' comment, I would like to think they wouldn't have mentioned it if they didnt think it was likely to happen. But who knows. I've always found it frustrating when the information we get concerning this album is not conclusive. If anything, it makes me more impatient because it creates more questions than it does answers. If that makes any sense.

^ Yes, thats the most likely outcome. I'm still considering that tickling spree if anyone tries to vote off Arpeggi. I'm serious.

Capital I for Information, I like it :laugh1: I think this Violet Hill business of giving it away as a promotion for the new album is as close as pulling a Radiohead as theyr'e gonna get, since (as you pointed out) they're still under contract with EMI. Assuming the second half of May is still feasable for a release, then that means they must be hiding something, or leaving it till the last minute to announce it. Either that, or they will delay it by a few weeks/months. Which I hope is NOT going to happen since many sources and interviews indicate a May/ June release.

Ooh well spotted! That video is hilarious, even my brother who is not so keen on Coldplay liked it.

^ Well look at Radiohead - who would have thought that they would post an update on their website at midnight? Not saying Coldplay would pull a Radiohead, just saying that it's been done, and its possible.
