But you've already downloaded the song you can put that on your iPod. The the record, the 7" vinyl, thats like a certificate saying that you respect the band, that you like them. And also you get much better sound quality off vinyl than on MP3

Does the internet no render any special content on discs pointless. liek if they stick a video on the CD, why not just put out a link to it online like this I think although as a medium for getting the music from the musician to the listener the 7" has been surpassed. Its still pretty neat. I bought a 7" today. These things are statements now. You can download a hundred tunes just browsing the net, but buying a 7", that means something
