New article on coldplaying.com with stats from previous albums and a preview for the sales of Ghost Stories, big thanks to Mackplay for the Ghost Stories single figures :) http://www.coldplaying.com/coldplay-album-sales/ VLVODAAHF first week sales : UK = 302,074 (this was only 3 days, Thursday release) US = over 700,000 Mylo Xyloto first week sales : UK = 208,090 US = 447,000 Album sales have declined even more greatly since 2011 and Mylo Xyloto was released in the busiest quarter of the year. However, pre-orders for Ghost Stories have been huge as we have seen during the release of Midnight and ASFOS and there is always a band or artist that breaks the mould and has a mega successful album regardless of the sales climate. Last one was Adele with 21 and that was produced by Paul Epworth funnily enough! Music forum experts are predicting around 150-160k in the UK and 350-400k in the US. Your predictions?

They couldn't replicate the 360 stage setup with the cinematic effects, it would cost them more than what they spent on Xylobands during the whole Mylo Xyloto tour by just playing two locations with it!

You can see why they weren't on the album. They were probably recorded after the tracklist was finalised, the simple way they were produced too doesn't really match the main album, I know a lot of fans appreciate more less produced and simple tracks. Most of us (the ones outside of US) will be adding the tracks on to the standard album anyway :)

This is brilliant! Probably in my top 5 favourite GS songs, its an amazing extra track to have :) Reminds me of a Snow Patrol song too but not that one, something off Eyes Open, can't remember which one.

Thanks a lot for all of these figures! I'm looking to do an article about sales figures for previous albums too which I have quite a lot of sales figures for so this is a great help :D

When is everyone booking their accommodation and train tickets etc..? I'm thinking about doing it before buts a little risky, haven't looked into cancellation fees incase can't get ticket.

Have a feeling going for the more expensive tickets, the one under box tickets will be a better idea as there will be slightly less demand I would imagine and better than missing out and paying even more for 2nd hand tickets.

I have seen it happen before on this football forum I lurk around when a big transfer happens, its rare but happens, it may have something to do when with a glitch as when forum versions are tested, they aren't usually tested with over 4000 posts in one thread in a space of a few days :P

As there are a few asking, the mega thread was eaten up by the forums yesterday (probably because it was taking 70% of its bandwidth haha!). We had a look to try and retrieve it as it was still showing up on chatbox evo and posts + thumbs were still counting on everyone's profile then a few hours later the postcount (which was a lot for me and hundreds for some!) had disapeared so yeah, no chance to retrieve it, a shame! The classic thread will live in our memories, i'm sure! Best song on the album for me and probably my favourite Coldplay song, that's how much I love this song, its so haunting, tragic, beautiful, heck words cannot describe this song....and that solo at the end!
