  1. UATW does sound like it does when they play it live (so don't worry about the pump organ comment), and to me, DLIBYH sounded closer to Charlie Brown than ETIAW. I tweeted my review to Q, and it definitely looks like they read it! Glad to see CP getting some good press for once.
  2. Yes, I've met Chris, Guy, and Will twice each and Jonny three times. I have no idea how I got that lucky. :) They're all extremely kind and very sweet.
  3. I love In My Place for its melody, but I've personally never gotten the lyrics. In my place, in my place Were lines that I couldn't change I was lost, oh yeah I was lost, I was lost Crossed lines I shouldn't have crossed I was lost, oh yeah (Yeah) How long must you wait for it? (Yeah) How long must you pay for it? (Yeah) How long must you wait for it? Oh for it ....... Singing ooh, ooh Please, please, please Come back and sing to me, to me, me Come on and sing it out now, now Come on and sing it out to me, me Come back and sing
  4. Fantastic! :D
  5. Congrats all around!
  6. lol, I can't believe people are still wondering if the review is a fake. Quite frankly, there would have been no convincing some people, even if I'd somehow been able to bootleg and post the whole album! Anyway, MMIX is an instrumental. You'll recognize it when you hear it. And, the comments on my blog address your questions about AHT and UFO.
  7. Thanks! Think you might be right, but I didn't want to include info I wasn't entirely sure about in my review.
  8. To be honest, because I couldn't take notes, I couldn't remember which one was which. I'm pretty sure one of them is a short instrumental and the other is a full song, but I can't remember more detail.
  9. Hi people, Here's the review I promised. http://www.austingirlmusicguide.com/2011/09/19/special-edition-review-coldplays-upcoming-mylo-xyloto/ I hope it answers most of the questions you have. Since I'm posting this for my website, I reviewed all the songs, not just the ones you all haven't heard. I took my notes on Friday night, not during the party as we weren't allowed to take anything in. As for instrumentals, there are at least 2, possibly 3, and they are very short. Another note: Paradise and ETIAW are not completely representative of the album. I mean, think about it: you've heard more than half the album already right? Anyway, enjoy. If anyone has any legit questions for me, you're welcome to comment on my site or PM me. V :)
  10. Yep, I'm caught. ;) Just checking out the madness...I'm about to post my review.
  11. I don't know exactly how much detail people might be looking to avoid, but having listened only once, my comments are going to be pretty general. I'll post the review here, and I won't be upset if someone else wants to trim it down for a non-spoiler version if need be. About the length of the album, I didn't check a clock or anything, but I would guess it was around an hour long, maybe less. As I said, the 14 tracks went by quickly.
  12. I must say, coming back to this thread today made me laugh! I am very real, I really did listen to the album, you can like my opinions or not, and I'm definitely NOT the Oracle! :laugh3: I'm waiting until Monday because I'm attending the ACL fest all weekend and for those of you worried that I'll forget everything, I took notes and will write everything up tomorrow as promised. I did only listen to the album once and I normally wouldn't write a review of something until I had a chance to listen to it more, but I'm making an exception as a favor to the fans who are dying to know. I'll be giving all the info I have, m'kay? ;)
  13. Incredible show! So much energy and the audience was terrific. I loved every second of it!! :D
  14. Ha, not true. I was at the listening party yesterday and we did not have to sign waivers. :) We're allowed to talk about it. So, yes, I've heard MX. It's a terrific album and I think despite all the negativity going on here, CP fans are going to love it. I don't have time to write a full review right now, but I will and I'll post it Monday. I will say this....it's their best album to date. The hip-hop influences are present, but not distracting, and they add to the freshness of the sound. Rihanna's appearance on POC is handled very delicately. Her voice and Chris' go together shockingly well and it's still obviously a Coldplay song. The album is sequenced extremely well, so that 14 tracks goes by without feeling long at all. As I said, I'll write a full review later (I have a music blog which I'll post it to) and then link it up here. I'm excited to share this info with you guys!
  15. I'm back from the taping...and all I can say is it was a truly surreal experience! I ended up in the front row of the floor. The boys were in a great mood and it was a terrific set. Not many changes to the setlist from their normal festival performances with only a few new songs. I grabbed one of the setlists and here's what they played: MX Hurts Like Heaven Yellow In My Place Major Minus Lost! The Scientist Violet Hill GPASUYF Up In Flames UATW Politik VLV Charlie Brown Paradise Clocks Fix You ETIAW I'll write a lot more later, but they passed out blacklight respondent shirts for us to wear during Charlie Brown and it was very cool. It was notable that after all the hating of Paradise, Chris changed the way he sings it from "para para paradise" to "para paradise." During ETIAW, Chris jumped into the crowd and we all danced together. So fun for a gal that has a massive crush on him!!! :D I also met Chris after the show while he walked back to their hotel. Also, we got into the listening party tomorrow! We literally just found out when we got home. I'm in shock over all of this. :stunned:
  16. They haven't played yet. It's tonight...I'm going to be there and I can't wait! :D ACL posted a pic of the set on Facebook, it looks amazing! The show is going to air on PBS on December 31st. Edit: here's another pic from Twitter. http://yfrog.com/nyolylj
  17. My husband and I will be down there, but in the late afternoon, maybe around 3. Stay safe in the sun all!
  18. ^ Congrats on getting Arcade Fire tix! I'd love to be able to see that taping too.
  19. Goodness, they need to devise a better system for giving out tickets! I have a feeling seating for the taping is going to be a mess.
  20. Don't buy tix from Craigslist or Ebay....the tickets are nontransferrable and they are not supposed to be sold. Also, the price is outrageous! If they'd just give the tickets to real fans in the first place, this wouldn't even be happening. I hope ACL takes action on these scalpers. On a side note, I got tickets to the taping!! I'm SO excited!!!! I cannot wait.
  21. With any hope, the city won't be on fire AND it won't be 100+ degrees. :\ It's rough times in Texas right now. Anyway, I'm up for taking turns securing spots. That's a great idea!
  22. More exciting things happening in Austin!
  23. It's going to be streaming on YouTube, just like Lollapalooza.
  24. Ditto this everyone! The festival is 3.5 weeks away and the temperatures this week are expected to be around 105 F every day. That's coupled with Texas humidity, so it feels much, much hotter than that. The word "brutal" describes it perfectly. September probably won't be much cooler; I'm not holding out for temps under 100. :\ If you plan to camp out all day at ACL Fest, you'll need to be very careful. I plan on being there fairly early too. :)
