I was just randomly thinking about getting this box set to easily start a Coldplay vinyl collection and found it at newbury comics ebay store for 40 bucks. I can't even believe the lithograph prices right now. You can buy the same ones for 100 USD for the albums and 75 USD for the singles in their store. So basically the band members autographs are worth over 400 dollars? and probably much more considering how much time is left on the auction

Maybe they will just play it straight on the latin american tour, and go back to normal clothes. Or they just have a ton of VLV outfits and gear.

I wouldn't even take what they're saying seriously yet. Remember before Viva, they said that they were going to make a hard album without piano? Well that didnt really come true, so I'd just wait it out until we actually hear some new songs =P

I love how we're on the 42nd page of this topic :laugh3: Anyway heres my personal review of LRLRL For the second leg of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida tour, the band decided to give something back to their fans. That gift comes in the form of LRLRL, a live album that captures the band in peak form. The nine-song album can be downloaded for free at coldplay.com or picked up at a Coldplay concert near you. It focuses mostly on material from their chart-topping album Viva La Vida, with a few old favorites thrown in. The album opens with Glass of Water, a favorite from the bands follow up EP to Viva La Vida, entitled “Prospekt’s March”. It’s a loud pounding start that really sets the mood for what a Coldplay show is like. “42” is one of the better “Viva” songs when played live. The 2nd of three distinct musical parts within the song is a great jam, especially in a live setting. The version of smash hit “Clocks” is particularly strong, as every note seems perfectly played. The drums and piano in the breakdowns are especially powerful. Quite possibly the best version I have in my collection. We then visit “Strawberry Swing”, my personal favorite song on “Viva La Vida”. This has a classic summer feel to it, with the African-esque guitar riff putting a smile on my face every time. One of the interesting curiosities on the tour was Chris Martin’s solo version of “The Hardest Part”, which segues into another “Prospekt” track, “Postcards From Far Away”. These two songs have real emotional weight on this album, and could very well be the highlight of it all. After a crowd participating version of “Viva La Vida” is played, a song sung by drummer Will Champion is performed. It’s a nice touch, but isn’t something worth gushing over. Live favorite “Fix You” is always impressive. The final song “Death and All of His Friends”, is made for closing out a show. The song slowly winds into a great burst of music with all four members singing in four-part harmony. The ending is especially good on LRLRL, as Martin lets out a beautiful scream through the dissonance of the guitar. This is a nice companion for anyone who saw Coldplay on this leg of their tour, or for anyone who wants to hear what a Coldplay show is like. Solid song selection and pretty good audio quality makes for a strong live album, especially for the price of zero dollars. 8.5/10

I was at DTE in Detroit, and had absolutely no problem receiving a cd. My friend and I stayed behind in hopes of getting a setlist, so we were out a lot later then most of the crowd, and it seemed like the workers had plenty of cd's. Thanks guys for making the show even better by giving us this memento. I'll always re-imagine these songs again from my perspective while listening.

Really really fun show. I hit one of the yellow balloons, and got some butterfly confetti. Also, my friends mom had sixth row tickets, and she let me switch for one song. So i got to see Fix You from the sixth row, which just made my skin tingle. I was on Jonny's side so i got to see him go to town on the guitar part. Also got a copy of LRLRL without a problem

I'm really excited, since it'll be my first coldplay show. I can't wait to hear politik and all of the old favorites that i havent had the chance to hear live yet. And hopefully i can get a copy of LRLRL without getting trampled =D

Warning Sign, Amsterdam, Shiver, or Everything's Not Lost. Hearing one of these songs on the upcoming tour would be awesome.

I dont blame Radiohead in any way for doing this. They will make a good sum of money off of this album, if not more then usual. By not releasing the record through a record company, they do not have to give the company royalty fees and such. Also, i've heard that the average amount of money being given so far is around 9.99 USD. This is roughly the price of an iTunes album. In a way, people are actualy paying more then your average cd would cost in a situation where there are no third parties to go through. Nonetheless, these ideas would not work for smaller bands at all. People would be more inclined to pay nothing to see how a band measures up, unlike Radiohead, where people know what the quality of the music will be like. Small bands need labels, and i hope that these two solutions of selling music can co-exist, or the music industry might dip even further into depression.

The best time for me is right before i fall asleep in my pitch black room. Especially really mellow acoustic style songs like Careful Where You Stand and See You Soon. They're very powerful at night. Also, I enjoy listening to I Bloom Blaum while its pouring rain out.

I kind of understand what that writer is saying. sometimes i really love snow patrol. other times i skip every song that shows up from them on my ipod. it just depends what mood i'm in.

hmm well coldplay is my alltime #1. but as of right now the 5 i'm listening to the most are: 1. Spoon 2. Augustana 3. Mute Math 4. Muse 5. The White Stripes

I'm guessing Prospekt is an alias for someone outside of the band. In the entry the writer says, "I've never seen the band so willling to be led," and that "Chris just burst into my my little room upstairs at the studio." The use of first person in these lines, and the way he talks about the band as an outsider point to this. But eh thats just what i think.

Wow @ Pronger. That guy just gets way too upset when he plays the wings. I remember in 2002 when he was with the blues, he tried to injure yzerman, and ended up hurting himself. now he goes for holmstrom. he really needs to get a grip and just come back strong the next game, instead of fretting over one thats already over.

Its not suprising that Chicago won, but a sweep was a bit weird. Golden State is just rediculous.

Ahh at least the Rangers are making a series out of it. I almost brought out the broom. =P
