You cant compare this healine slot at glastonbury to their slot in 2002!its totally different!back then they were still a new band coming through, they had to play new songs because they didnt have enough to fill a whole set!now they have 4 albums backed up!

I respect your opinion and can understand it would be exciting i guess but i just dont think a festival is the right place. When i heard they were doing festivals my initial reaction was great they must be creating a masterpiece and are really confident. However this delay doesnt make sense.

I just don't believe its right or fair on fans to use such a huge platform like glastonbury to play new unrecognised songs.

If the news is true I will be so so angry and confused!Firstly LOCUST how do you know this?where are your sources? If this is true there is a huge question to ask; 1.)WHY HAVE COLDPLAY ANNOUNCED ALL OF THESE FESTIVAL HEADLINE SLOTS? I have just spent £200 on tickets to T In The Park, purely on the basis of seeing my favourite band in the world Coldplay. If there album is not out this october why are they playing festivals before hand? They are not good enough or old enough yet to play a festival without new material (I.E. Greatest Hits Show). The dragged the viva la vida tour out over 2 years! And now if sources are accurate they will most likely play the same show again!? Coldplay have released 4 albums in their career, they have not came close to be able to play a 'greatest hits' show. Also if they have decided to delay the album till October then it surely makes sense to play festivals next year. They will be playing festivals this year possibly previewing 1 or 2 new songs which no1 will recognise!Whats the point???? Although many people believe this information posted by 'Locust' I remain optimistic about the release date being may/june/july time. I dont believe that all the work they have done up to now (all of which coldplay had enough confidence to invite Q magazine into the studio and give away tracktitles etc) has been scrapped. This all just doesn't add up and although Locust was correct about hearing a song 2 weeks before on an ipod (which by the way does not make him a reliable source just because he heard a song early) does not mean he can have reliable 'inside' information! I heard White Shadows and Square One about 1 month before the album was released! ! !

I dont understand why on a fansite you're all talking about your favourite band 'selling out'. Im sure you all agree that the 4 albums they have released were amazing so no need 2 dispute about them selling out!In my opinion though why is the singer from ASH going anywhere near the studio?I mean ASH? One word AWFUL! Im more concerned about the article saying they have started all over!I mean they have booked all of these festivals in the summer (got my T In The Park ticket :-) ) so you have to assume they are way further down the line then they are letting on. Remember when Radiohead released 'In Rainbows' they didn't really promote the album at all before. I wouldn't be surprised if we had some MAJOR news anytime now!

T In The Park Just booked my tickets to T In The Park!!!! :laugh3: Can't wait to see Coldplay, they will have played loads of festivals by 9th July so should be on top of their game! Only question is, WHERES THE NEW ALBUM? ? ? ? Surely they must be confident of releasing it before the festival season!I believe they are pretty much done with the album, just fine tuning it now so its ready!ALSO unlike previous albums, they have came out and announced there headlining every festival going, which to me means they may have a pretty big sounding album! ! !

When chris played wedding bells at the apple convention, before the song he said 'this is a story, kinda thing, thats starts sad, but thats how these things should'. hey guys, ive read the article in Q mag an your not missing any info that has been already posted in the forum. (Apart from Chris saying the band are trying to 'master the handclap' declaring its very hard to do). Is it just me or is it sometimes abit annoying that he doesnt give genuine answers to questions? Also i cant believe some people on here are thinking they may not like the new tunes because of the track titles????just wait and see!we all know its going to be incredible!

y not?i mean it wont be but y not?i mean i dnt want any collaberation at all but if there is one i couldnt think of any1 more talented than noel!and some of his acoustic stuff is amazing, really suits coldplay melancholic music!

I suggested possibly noel gallagher!as i know he is good friends with chris and is currently doing collaberation work with miles cain. It is a long shot but its a possibility. I would love to hear the other guys in the band sing but the fact that he has brought it up in an interview about maybe doing a collaberation im not sure he means internally. If could be anyone but a Noel Gallagher would be amazing. An remember they have performed together for a fair trade gig a few years ago so there could be some substance to it. But who knows ?????

Well tbh Prospekts March is not really an official coldplay album is it, i mean this thread is called LP5 news. Any chance of listening to new material;collaberation or non-collaberation then great. But for LP5 you dont want someone else possibly destroying the song/album. Us coldplay fans get another stick as it is, leave other artists for side projects etc.

Im so excited for the release, the track titles seem very interesting, especially when chris says 1 of the songs only have 2 chords in it! ! ! ! ! !As long i hear the recorded version of WEDDING BELLS then I will be happy.
