How are the songs second rate?? they're not at all! the new songs are probably the freshest material they've released since AROBTTH. parachutes wasn't even as good as that album. for me, parachutes was 4 or 5 songs. Don't Panic Yellow Trouble Everything's not lost/Life is for living Shiver. so if you're talking song wise, Parachutes has SOME good material. whereas album wise, AROBTTH, or VLV even X&Y are better, because there are more good songs on. AROBTTH, practically every song on there is a classic. with exceptions of course. X&Y was too long, but nontheless has great songs on it as a collective. Parachutes doesn't have that. there are alot of fillers on parachutes. High speed, for example. Sparks.... We never change. it's a very acoustic album which made for boring concerts.

It's like you're expecting them to create newer versions of the scientist, or, fix you, or whatever. why can't you just be happy about what they HAVE released and fall back on the old classics on the older albums? I'm not saying yu're opinion is wrong in so many words, I'm saying I don't understand your critisisms of the new style compared to the old style.

oh for fucks sake. will you get over parachutes? you sound like you're about to touch yourself over it. Parachutes is in the past. Coldplay are not going to fall back on old tricks. and if they did and made another "parachutes-esqe" album would you say it was original? NO because it would be a reincarnation of parachutes and YOU'D probably complain because it wasn't as good.

It's healthy to debate, but to insult, that's just rude. as for your comments, there's nothing in music that's completely original these days get used to it. it doesn't make the new album any less great.
