I've listened to it a few times and it is better with more listens, HOWEVER I agree that X Marks The Spot is the worst Coldplay song, if not the worst song, ever written. I was hoping it would surprise me because the title is bad. But nope. Seriously, what were they thinking. Anyway, I am surprised with Fun. I was thinking that would be a huge pop thing like HFTW, but I like it. The beginning is awesome! Anyway I think this album will grow on people after a few listens. I like the production in some songs but not in others. It annoys me that Amazing Day starts off with a phaser effect or something. Also, the last Amazing Day that Chris sings at the end isn't like the one at the Global Citizen festival. He keeps it low instead of singing it a bit higher, if that makes sense to anyone lol.

One week to go...

Honestly with it only a week away, don't! I have done fairly well so far, although I broke earlier with listening to Everglow once. Also, I downloaded the Tidal performance to watch some of it (mainly Amazing Day) and I watched the first song with no volume lol. I was so tempted to just turn it up for a few seconds but I didn't! It looked like a fun song and it was cool to imagine what it sounds like. The performance of Amazing Day was great though.

The former is usually my thought process. But I decided to do something different this time around. I listened to Everglow once and hopefully won't again until the release lol.

I listened to it once and thought it was great. I already forget what it sounded like, but I remember loving the piano. That will be the only time I listen to it before the album though. At this point I have only heard the studio versions of AOAL and Everglow, and the live version of Amazing Day. That leaves 10 songs left that will be completely new to me. Now I just have to make it one more week!

Isn't it? My predictions for the songs keeps changing with every post I read lol.

That is indeed the hardest part lol. Especially now that some people are saying the live version is better. My hopes keep going up and down, but I going to just wait until I hear the entire thing. This is the shortest wait for a Coldplay album I have had. I definitely would like to experience the entire thing for the first time on the official release. I have never done that before, so I am making sure I do this time. Just 10 days!

I was unaware of that as well. I became a fan right after X&Y was released. Viva was my first album release so I only have that, MX, and Ghost Stories to go off of. Thanks for pointing that out though.
