I guess this is a bit of a nerdy detail, but it needs to be pointed out. France isn't powered by fusion; in fact, no one is, because no one has managed to make a fusion reactor that creates more energy than it uses. Supposedly a useful one will be ready in a few decades, but for now you can't really get power that way. If I remember right, France uses a technique of reusing "spent" cores from fission reactors, so they can get most of their power from fission without producing unmanageably huge amounts of waste. It's still fission, though, not fusion.

Not bad...not something I'd spend money on, but then I don't have much of that stuff. :P
  3. Lovegood - Ministry of Magic ...What? If you got this far you probably didn't die laughing, so go play it (it's in the music player on their site) unless you have an irrational bias against this sort of thing. It's almost as good as Clocks, and sort of the same style of music.
  4. Artists hardly ever think much of their own work...these guys consistently make good music despite lots of noticeable changes to their style, so I wouldn't worry about it. Also:
  5. Yes. They called it "Shiver." But I think I'm pretty much alone with my opinion of that song so I won't say any more about it. Fix You is OK, but probably the worst song on that album; though maybe I just think that because it's way over-hyped. As a collection of songs, I'd say X & Y is their best one so far; they don't fit together as well as the songs on the other two, though.

I just bought "The Man Who" after hearing "Why Does It Always Rain On Me?" (the only song I can think of that effortlessly beats "The Scientist" at its own game); now I'm wondering why I didn't get it sooner. It's kinda like Coldplay's first album with all the songs improved somewhat and an incredibly bad one thrown in at the end for no apparent reason ("Blue Flashing Light"). Once you delete that one, it's perfect. :P If these guys get popular again, Coldplay had better watch out. :D
  7. Regardless of whether God exists, believing in God is not even remotely scientific. All "evidence" that he exists is pretty easy (but getting tiresome) to disprove, and since without supporting evidence God is an unnecessary and unlikely component of the universe, belief in God is absolutely not scientific. Believe in him if you want, but please don't convince yourself that your belief is scientific; that's just stupid. More importantly, stop with the belief-imposing; it's very unlikely to work, but really annoying and makes lots of people hate you. And since I know perfectly well you will ignore this: :lock:
  8. Just for that: 41 - Yellow 35 - Trouble 14 - Sparks 5 - Parachutes +Parachutes -Sparks :smug:
  9. Here's some more. But you have to say each letter individually. URBS
  10. 41 - Yellow 35 - Trouble 15 - Sparks 4 - Parachutes +parachutes (a lost cause, but I don't care :D) -Yellow (apparently I'm really asking for it here)
  11. 20 - The Scientist 17 - In My Place 15 - A Rush of Blood to the Head 16 - Amsterdam 18 - Clocks 9 - Green Eyes 9 - Politik 3- Warning sign +Clocks -Green Eyes (OK song...completely the wrong album)

My favorite Coldplay song for sure, possibly also my favorite song in existence. And I guess this thread means I'm not (completely) nuts. :D Not sure how to explain it...every detail of this song is just amazing. And it does have a surprising amount of detail if you listen for it.
