This is something of an exaggeration, but don't ignore this, because you probably will need to do this at some point. Obviously you should get all your important files off first, preferably onto an external hard drive, then try to get rid of the virus with some antivirus program or other (try this first, since it's free and not a scam). But most viruses are just about impossible to remove completely without reformatting the infected drive. Anything less, and it usually just hides somewhere and reappears. Just make sure you back up everything you need first, and make sure the virus isn't in the backup!

I hope you mean foolproof. :P Maybe we should start a new thread with a (public) poll for this one...might get votes a lot faster that way, plus you don't have to count them. It's the last match anyway, right?
