  1. Actually, we've been over that already...really only a set of 3 notes is noticeably similar, and the tempo for those notes is a bit faster than in VLV. (Plus he's using a guitar instead of his voice.) It's not enough of a similarity to be more than a coincidence; there are a lot of songs out there. You username is great, though. :P
  2. Yet another article that kicks off with a snide comment about Coldplay...not about their music, of course, but about one of the bandmembers. "The bands that triumph on the biggest stages are those who believe they belong there." I guess he means the arrogant ones? :dozey:
  3. I always thought that sounded like someone's name...:P
  4. Yeah, no one ever comes in here for some reason... Anyway: GPASUYF Green Eyes I Ran Away Lovers In Japan
  5. I know that...I'm just kinda wondering what the heck "Gaylicious" means. As for that magazine cover...:laugh3:
  6. Sounds pretty much like my life, except I'm 20 now and still waiting for the other people my age to grow up. :P They still drink, they still smoke, and they still listen to rap and heavy metal (or whatever that loud, tuneless stuff is). Most popular music was, and is, so bad that I never even listened to current music at all until last year, and I still didn't like it that much until I found Coldplay a few months ago. As silly as it might sound, all the complaints about Coldplay only make them seem better to me; after all, the accepted popular opinions of young adults and teenagers are usually so far from sanity it's unbelievable. If all the popular kids hate them, that probably means they're really good. :P Seriously--the main reasons I like Coldplay's music so much are pretty much the same reasons why the immature masses hate them. Their songs have good and appropriate melodies and patterns, instead of just using thunderous drumbeats and shredding guitars at maximum volume. They have good, honest, and meaningful lyrics, instead of lyrics about sex, drugs, and drinking, or amazingly possessive and self-important lyrics about the singer's girlfriend. (Which is probably related to the fact that none of the bandmembers are drug addicts who think they're the greatest humans alive.) I don't get why popular music is, well, popular, but I'd guess it's mostly because so many people never really mature. It's too bad...they don't know what they're missing. ;)
  7. ... No comment. Also:
  8. Actually that's from the Lovers in Japan page in the tour program, so it's probably not in the video for VLV. :\ But who knows, maybe it's in a future LiJ video! :D

On this forum, that almost would have made more sense. :P And yeah, people staring over your shoulder is really annoying...I can't do anything, at all, if someone is doing that to me without permission. :veryangry2: :P
  10. guyy replied to strawberryfields's topic in The Lounge
Actually, one of mine is using "the shit" to mean "great", and overuse of profanity in general. :dozey: But you're right, those people are really annoying, and they're everywhere. Other things... - Rap. All of it. Even when it's not about something disturbing. - People who knock on my door so hard it sounds like they're trying to break it down with a sledgehammer. (Everyone I know either does this, or knocks so quietly I can barely hear it; it's weird.) - Spongebob. :dunce: - People who scream excitedly when they see a wild animal, immediately scaring it away. It seems like a few of these people show up whenever I find a wild animal anywhere.
  11. This? It's the one from the CD, which isn't quite the entire picture, but the one from the program's way too big to scan...:\

  13. What? ...What? ...Er. Uh...is it just me, or is this article total nonsense? I can't even tell if he likes Coldplay or not, or what he thinks of their new album. Maybe he's not sure?
  14. ..... :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: I don't think I want to know...:P
  15. 37 - Strawberry Swing 30 - Viva La Vida 25 - Cemeteries Of London - 22 - Death And All His Friends 11 - 42 +
  16. 42 Animals Clocks Don't Panic
  17. Since I'm paranoid about giving out my real name online, "No Way Jose" voted for: 1. White Shadows 2. Clocks 3. 42 4. Only Superstition 5. Spies 6. Don't Panic 7. Parachutes 8. Violet Hill 9. Politik 10. Crests of Waves I dunno about the order past the first three, but I doubt that will really matter anyway.
  18. Just left side and right side? What about the middle side? Or the underside? :P
  19. Only candy corn. But given enough of it and a good distraction, I could probably kill myself with it. :P
  20. :dozey: :D  And Violet Hill's on there, too? That makes no sense, but...
  21. Sigh...sad but unfortunately not surprising. There's a little note on each band in his list explaining why they're like U2: THE KILLERS Listen to "Mr. Brightside." Ignore the matching '80s suits and listen to that guitar sound and the bass pumping out root notes. Sound familiar? RADIOHEAD Before they beautifully detoured into art rock esoterica, Radiohead was vying for the anthem rock throne. Their aching "High And Dry" was offered up as their version of "With Or Without You." COLDPLAY They stole U2's producer. They stole U2's iPod commerical. They stole U2's super-sincerity. They are U2 with a piano. Notice something? Why does Coldplay always get the harshest (and stupidest) criticism? :dozey:
  22. I thought that might be a coincidence, but then I noticed the ones around it: Beatlesstraat...Rolling Stonesstraat...Pink Floydstraat... :D
  23. Clocks got me interested in them, but White Shadows made it permanent. ;)
  24. Nope... TNP has a weird picture of Coldplay playing with cardboard boxes in their signature. :P
  25. Well, the author is too lazy or stupid to capitalize anything in his review, so I really don't think this is worth reading. I don't know why I bothered skimming it. I don't even believe he ever liked Coldplay, since he makes all the same complaints (Radiohead-lite, corporate crap, etc.) that the hardcore haters use; he probably just made that up to get more people to listen to him...as if attracting more fans to read his rant is a good idea. Besides..."Run"? He's scared of a CD? :laugh3:
