Yesterday was played the last round of the Brazilian League. All the local derbies are played in the final round, but I want to talk about a specific match: the Belo Horizonte derby. The Belo Horizonte derby is played between Cruzeiro and Atlético Mineiro. Cruzeiro was fighthing against the relegation (they'd never been relegated before). Atlético couldn't achieve anything in the league, but they were expected to want to beat their rivals and relegate them. This was posted by an Atlético supporters in an Orkut community two days before the derby. It said: "This morning I took a cab. The driver was an Atlético supporter too, and we talked about the derby. He also said that, earlier this morning, he took a Cruzeiro director to the downtown. This Cruzeiro director told the driver that it was all set up, that there had been a meeting between Zezé Perrella (Cruzeiro chairman), Alexandre Kalil (Atlético chairman) and Ricardo Guimarães (BMG Bank president, company that sponsors both teams), in which they agreed that Atlético would lose the derby on purpose and BMG would buy them Diego Tardelli (a player who already played for Atlético)." About the games: Packers @ Lions: well, it's been a great season for the Lions and its fans (the best in decades, I guess), with 7-3, Stafford and everything, but Packers have got A-Rod. Tough game, but the Packers get to 11-0 this afternoon (well, afternoon for me :P). Dolphins @ Cowboys: this game won't be as easy as many people think, but the Boys will end up winning this one. 49ers @ Ravens: well, the toughest game of the day. Niners to win!

Yep, What If sucks, but Low isn't that bad (well, it's surely better than ETIAW, Paradise and PoC). White Shadows is great. But let's talk about the good songs. X&Y: Square One is awesome. Fix You is good, but it's overrated. White Shadows is great. Talk is superb. Speed Of Sound is great. A Message is one of their best songs. The Hardest Part is good and extremely underrated. Swallowed In The Sea is amazing. Twisted Logic is very good and also underrated. 'Til Kingdom Come is a good song. MX: Charlie Brown is amazing. Up With The Birds is very good.

My point is the only ones creating a link between the album being good/bad and the way it sound are those who like the album. I dislike the album, and it doesn't have anything to do with how it sound compared to their previous albums. Obviously I have my reasons to dislike it, but I didn't came here to tell them. I just wanted to show how stupid saying "you dislike the album only because it's a departure from their previous work" is. Most of the songs were already known anyway. I'd already heard the dreadful ETIAW, Paradise and PoC many times. The best song, Charlie Brown, was already known too. The only "new" song that stood out to me was "Up With The Birds"; Last time I checked, this was still the MX discussion forum, not the "forum for those who loved MX only". But it might've changed, let me check... uh, no this continues to be the MX discussion forum. But you're right, maybe I should leave the fangirl zone.

It's kind of obvious that when someone says an album is bad they actually mean they don't like it. Do I really have to explain this? So, it's good because it doesn't sound like their previous albums? I'm not sure if you understood my post, so I'll explain myself. There are many people saying "stop saying this album is bad, it's just different" like those things were complete opposites and unable to happen simultaneously. The brazilian comedian I was talking about was Chico Anysio, and he's perhaps the most important and famous brazilian comedian there is. Not obscure at all (well, at least not for me, because I'm brazilian). But it doesn't matter, what matter is what he meant. You can label a song or album under a certain genre, or you can say it sounds like this or that, but at the end, it all comes down to whether it's good or bad (or if you like it or not, to be more precise). You like the album? Great, good for you, but please stop trying to convince those who don't by saying "it's not bad, just different from their previous albums". It won't work and it's really annoying. God, those who dislike a Coldplay song or album can't say so in this forum, can they?

This album is different AND bad. And Pitchfork gave it a 7/10. Now it's confirmed: they like bad music.

I only listened to the album once. And I intent not to listen to it again for some good time. A brazilian comedian once said there are only two kinds of joke: the good and the bad ones. The same can be said about music. And THIS, this is BAD.

I can't say I'm an oldschool fan, I discovered CP in 2008, before the release of VLVODAAHF. X&Y was my first album, and it's my favorite to date. Yep, I hate PoC.
