  1. I'm sorry guys, the information I gave you was wrong. River is going to play the second tier this season. The first/second tier merge will only happen next season. Unless River gets relegated to the third tier this season, they will play in the first tier next season.
  2. As you may know, River Plate was relegated last season after losing the promotion playoffs (La Promoción) to Belgrano. But River will not play the second tier next season. The Argentinan Football Association voted for a change in next season's football pyramid. The first and the second tiers will be merged, making a competition with 40 teams.
  3. And Barça is playing against my team, SC Internacional, next Tuesday, at 16:15 PM GMT. It'll be a great match, and I hope we manage to beat you for the third time!
  4. OMFG! I always thought I was the only person in this forum who disliked Fix You. Glad to know I'm not alone! :D
  5. Take a look at the video I posted.
  6. The didn't "just" miss 4 penalty kicks, but they managed to kick it worse that Baggio did in 94... twice! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuwEqHwHXMY]‪Penaltis - Brasil X Paraguai - Brasil Erra TODOS - 17/07/11 Brazil vs Paraguay - Quarter-Finals‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]
  7. That'd be just amazing!
  8. It's great to see a good uruguayan team for the first time in decades. And yes, they can really win this. I really want them to. No, they weren't. It was an equilibrated match, even while it was 11 x 10. Uruguay deserved to win.
  9. Great win! And all the doble chapas from Rio Grande do Sul celebrate! Me included, of course :D Uruguay deserved it, simple as that.
  10. Brazil 2 - 2 Paraguay And Paraguay deserved to win.
  11. Brazil played really bad.
  12. Agora que a gente goleou o Galo, eu peço que o Cruzeiro retribua o favor e ganhe do Gaymio nessa quarta. Fechado? ;)
  15. Not exactly. Actually, the story is waaay longer :P In 1801, the whole Rio Grande do Sul became part of the Portuguese Empire (Brazil only became independent in 1822). Before that, at least some of it was part of the Spanish Empire. At this time, the current territory of Uruguay was part of the Spanish Empire. In 1810, after the May Revolution, Uruguay became part of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata (current territories of Uruguay and Argentina) and the Argentine War of Independence started. Even though the war only ended completely in 1818, the independence of the United Provinces was declared in 1816. In this same year, the Portuguese Empire invaded the northernmost part of the current territory of Uruguay, and in 1817 Montevideo was occupied. Uruguay became the Cisplatine Republic and was part of the Portuguese Empire (and afterwards, of the Brazilian Empire). In 1825, the Cisplatine War begun. In 1928, Uruguay won the war with help from the United Provinces. But instead of becoming part of the United Provinces again, Uruguay declared independence with the support of the United Kingdom. Obviously, nobody dared to defy a decision supported by United Kindom. :P Now, it's time for you to say "cool story bro" :laugh3:
  16. It's very simple: Barcelona is better than Argentina. And juanif, here in Rio Grande do Sul there are many doble chapas. RIO GRANDE DO SUL SUPPORTS URUGUAY!!
  17. I want Uruguay to win it too. They made a great World Cup last year, and Peñarol almost won the Libertadores Cup, so I think they deserve it.
  18. There'll always be River Plate x Boca Unidos in the Primera B!
  19. I respect Boca, because they have many titles, but I prefer River. No team being that big should get relegated, but their board of directors made many mistakes in the last 3 years. It's sad to say they deserved to go down. D'Alessandro, who currently plays for my team, supports and used to play for River. Tonight we played and won 4-1, but after the match he was talking about River and he almost cried. Such a sad situation :(
  20. I dare you to say it on ProgArchives.com  You said you didn't know "Supper's Ready", "Dogs" or "Thick As A Brick". With all due respect, if you never heard these songs, you're not a proghead. It never crosses my mind "when's the next song coming on?" while I'm listening to Supper's Ready. I simply enjoy each and every minute of its 23 minutes, that blend together making the best individual song the world has ever seen.
  21. And River Plate was relegated for the first time. Sad moment for the game.
  22. Yep, that's what stop most people from listening to Progressive Rock, the best musical genre ever. It's your right not to like it, of course, but I strongly recommend you listen to some of these songs. That's true. I couldn't imagine Coldplay making epic songs. How could I forget AHM? What an amazing suite! True.
  23. You were going so well... What about Supper's Ready or Echoes (23 minutes)? Or Dogs (17 minutes)? Or Thick As A Brick (the whole album, 43 minutes)? These are some of the best songs ever.
