I think the similarities in the two songs have to be co-incidence.. Remember with 'Talk', Coldplay received permission of Kraftwerk to use their melody. Why after going to that trouble (which very few artists do) would they then change their attitude entirely and rip off another artist? Makes no sense, and I think Coldplay's attaining permission for a melody from Kraftwerk is good evidence to use in court that Coldplay would never blatantly steal.

I think sparks was in the adam sandler movie click.. ..or maybe I'm just insane.. :D

they're both my favourite bands.. can't make a call until I hear some sounds from U2's album however I do believe that if U2 are able to produce a CD that is as good as their last two albums then it will be more commercially successful.. VLVODAAHF is a great CD which I enjoy, but the songs on it, with the exception on VLV, Violet Hill and perhaps Lost!, aren't really mainstream if you know what I mean.. I feel that if U2 produce a more pop - mainstream album with plenty of number 1 hits then they'll sell more copies.. not saying either bands music is any better than the other, just thinking about record sales.

I skip 42 and violet hill.. I'm growing to like 42 more and more however, and I skip violet hill because I'm so sick of hearing it.. same is starting to happen with viva la vida, because I got the song in the iTunes pre-order I listened to it about 50 times before the albums release..

definately a degree of similarity.. but I think thats only because I'm looking really hard for it.. if I heard this on the radio without reading this, wouldn't really make the comparison.

coldplay lyrics have moved me almost to tears in some cases.. this guy takes isolated examples and then decides that all the lyrics are crap.. I'm not taking his opinion seriously as he clearly has not listened to any other albums, nor has he any understanding of their music and what effect it has on millions of people like us.

so annoyed.. I've missed out on LIJ acoustic =[ I'm gonna write to apple.. maybe they'll be nice and give it to me somehow.. I had it pre-ordered since the day it became available, really isn't fair.

I went and tried to pre-order it again and it gave me an error

I think coldplay and their albums are awesome. My friend hates Coldplay, and is convinced that 50 Cent is "da awesomest guy eva" who's right? music is opinionated, and sadly not everyone will like VLVODAAOHF.. we must deal with it
