This album is far better than X&Y. It has a more grown up sound to it. BTW your song choices for your top songs on the album are questionable. I agree with you that DAAHF is a strong track, but what about COL, LIJ, SS, or 42? LIT and VLV IMO are some of the weakest on the album. Guess everyone has their own opinions.

Violet Hill gets played in my car....but VLV hasnt and will never get played while I am driving. If it does I might crash my car! Seriously I would say its the ONLY Coldplay I absolutely despise. But hey...I guess its just me.

Well said. They need to go back in the rock direction. This was a disappointing step IMO. We'll see what happens.

I listen to Radiohead, Muse, Foo Fighters, and Incubus to name a couple of bands. I'll even listen to Tool & System of a Down. So as you can see VLV doesn't fit into my tastes. VLV is a total pop commercial songs its ridiculous. So who do you listen to?

I totally agree with you. VLV is by far the worst Coldplay song ever. The sound and especially the lyrics are total shit. They used to sing about personal issues like a lost love or questions about life. Now they are singing about Jerusalem and churches...who gives a shit!!! Whats more disturbing to me is that so many Coldplay fans love this song and only a small minority hates it. Guess those in the minority dont listen to pop music like the rest of you. Bet you like New Kids On The Block also. LOL

With the theme of the album, its only fitting that they went in a political direction with the song and I applaud it. However I can do without the original. If you go back to X&Y, Talk and Hardest Part, weren't that good either so what can we expect?
