  1. i'm kinda hopeful that floor tickets A,B,C might become available, just not today
  2. i go with my wife, the first gig we went to was coldplay....she is american and i am british, every few years we switch countries...we have a daughter called 'apple'-actually we had our apple before chris, so he stole the name from us
  3. i've hit several floor D,E,F but i am closer at U13
  4. it was row P...very far back, let them go
  5. just got D floor seating
  6. i searched right away for floor seats...none!! did multiple best available seats and nothing was any better than what i got
  7. Only certain venues offer general admission! The MGM Grand in Las Vegas is all-seater. GA is best! Dang, I wish coldplay were playing the pearl-at the palms casino! That is a super venue with GA.
  8. The brixton gig does sound awesome....it is the best venue in the whole world-and I live in Las Vegas! Nothing could ever compare to Brixton Academy, I was lucky to see coldplay there a long time ago.
  9. I don't think you should feel snuubed by coldplay playing the US first. It is not possible to have summer dates for a major tour in the UK because most people are saving themselves for the big music festivals. Summer tours of the US just make more sense fiancially. The winter christmas shows will be really awesome and worth the wait!!
  10. thanks hyphin! you are very welcome! i will start a thread from tomorrow to see if we can band together and exchange, swop, sell(face value only!) or give away tickets. i want us(fans) to look out for each other and help each other get great tickets. good luck for the general sale everyone!!!
  11. i think i heard they playing brighton
  12. Hey Melissa! If I get really great seats tomorrow I will give you first refusal on them okay? No obligation to buy whatever I find. Just face value okay! I am going to ask friends, clients and anybody else about getting great seats too! Let me know what sections you prefer and I will keep an eye out for you! At the moment I have seats in U13, Row M. Feel free to message me and let me know what areas you really want!

I have never been to a gig and come away awestruck by the light show. I have been blown away by a bands performance and to be honest I prefer minimal lights and effects. Also I prefer to stand at gigs. But if it has to be seating, well i don't like front row-sometimes it feels like you are disconnected from the crowd and it feels like watching a gig on TV. I wouldn't let where you are sitting dictate your level of enjoyment-if you are having a miserable night, it will be a miserable night wherever you sit. So just be happy and open-minded about where you sit and you will find happiness! Now I sound like some Jedi master!!!
  14. So it used to be standard practice, if you had winter dates in the UK you would release/promote the dates/venues around late june to august to coincide with the festival season there. I think you will hear more news around Glastonbury time-late june!
  15. hey Melissa! i think you are right that some of the management blurb i got was bullshit, but PR-management usually is. But from other info I have heard, these July dates were hastily booked-like within the last month. To compare, Radiohead sold their second leg US tour presale five weeks ago and it will be another four weeks before they can send out the actual tickets. So I kinda accept the explanation that time may have factored against a presale. I did find out that MGM Grand promoter does have some sort of contractual arrangement with BestBuy regarding presale-I think Coldplay are useing the same promoter for this tour. You are spot on about some of the criticisms about how coldplay are managing things right now. The closure of the messageboard and other areas of the old site are weird! Right now coldplay.com is fairly useless, theres so little on it! I think ticket presales for big bands like coldplay, should be done by regestering your email and through a purchased membership or through purchasing a product from their web store. This would reduce registration by scalpers. Only those people who are registered and make a purchase would get presale codes. By the way, the management did not respond to my criticism about ticket prices.
  16. In the regular venues then the best tickets invariably go to venue sponsors and tour promoters/band. That does not mean it is impossible to get the best seats on general sale, but you can imagine the chances are very slim! I have mentioned this before but sponsors/promoters often return tickets. I find the few weeks before the show, these tickets get returned to ticketmaster.
  17. So I contacted Coldplays management to complain about this and received an email this morning. The band/management chose not to do a fan sale for two reasons. Firstly, they felt the time frame was too tight to do a presale-it is less than two months. Second, last time they were disappointed that many of the fan presale tickets went to scalpers and not fans. Many fans also felt they were disappointed not to get tickets thru the fan sale. So it was felt there was no fair way to ensure fans got the tickets and that general sale is the fairest way. The reply concluded that this is something they will consider in the future and the BestBuy promotion is not endorsed by the management or band, it was a matter of accepting this small presale as a condition of booking these venues with the promoter they engaged. So that is the explanation! I can't say I agree with the lack of presale to fans but the explanation about the lack of time to arrange this is understandable. I think they should have announced the tour and added the reasons why there was no presale. I think a lot of people were hoping for a while that they would get a presale info email!
  18. The presale tickets were for BestBuy Reward Zone Members-you had to be a member from 1st May. You got a special code to buy tickets from ticketmaster. So the presale is pretty much done and dusted, its straight to general sale i'm afraid!
  19. well i had a conversation with neil from travis, after travis played vegas in nov last year. he said they had been approached to support coldplay for this summer
  20. the trouble with holding out is that they are expecting a fast sell-out for general sale....this is why the scalped tickets are so high in price! my advice would be take what you can get now and try to get better on sat. if you do get better you can always sell them on here at face value-that is what i am going to do anyway...at least this way you guarantee yourself a ticket
  21. i am guessing that the three 'free' barcelona-msg-london will form a super live dvd release
  22. urgghhh!!! 3,000 is even less than i thought...i would rather they have restricted entry to locals. anybody who wins outside the area will have to pay several hundred $ in travel, hotels etc
