[COLDPLAYING ADMIN MESSAGE] TICKET ISSUES AT COLDPLAYWORLDTOUR.COM
Never buy from anyone outside the UK. Reporting the matter to any UK agency will only be met with 'it's outside the UK and our jurisdiction'. I would advise the person who used this site to contact their credit card company and get them to cancel the transaction. The site seems suspicious because of the prices and the fact it is outside the UK. You cannot buy tickets from ticketmaster or gigs and tours if your credit card is outside the UK, unless you choose 'will call at the box office'. They do not post tickets overseas. Also I noticed they reserve the right to cancel your order if they can't forfill it. This means they don't have tickets but are trying to get tickets. This means, even if they are legit, they might never supply you with tickets. For a gig thats six months away thats a hell of a wait. I'm thinking that this is a scam, you buy tickets and then in November they declare themselves bankrupt, leaving those waiting for tickets and refunds-which will be pennies.

We, the undersigned, object to the UK tour "no fans' pre-sale", "no standing" policy!
Very true! In the US the best seats were auctioned off by ticketmaster. Soon it will be the norm in the UK, ticketmaster UK are planning to launch this wholesale. They insist it is not scalping/touting, they are merely offering fans an extra option for securing the best seats without needing to go to a secondary market-like ebay.

Los Angeles Dates?
i'm thinking they are headlining coachella next year! no soCal dates would increase their value to coachella.

Anyone else sick of all this "no standing business"
It is great they are touring of course! Great band etc...i think the band needed to communicate why they want all-seating venues. I think if they had come forward before tickets went on sale and said something about the all-seating policy the debate would have been calmer and considered. You still might not agree with it but you would have felt informed and involved. I think thats my quibble-and I have heard the same from other coldplay fans. The band aren't involving their hardcore fans as much as they used to. Things like fan presales, news, ticket prices, official messageboard...small things like that. I remember early on getting regular emails and news, pre-sales for fans. I just wonder why they have stopped doing things like that? The other bands I love still do that and I feel like I am involved with the band, fans etc. However you classify me-a fan, a consumer etc..I am paying money to buy coldplay products thousands of dollars worth of products, I work hard for that money and it enables coldplay to work. So band and fans are linked together, so we as fans can and should complain when something happens that fans don't like. If we didn't care about coldplay we wouldn't need to praise or complain, so whatever our respective opinions we are entitled to say what we feel about the band. Just because someone is critcal of something does not make them less of a fan.

Is there some way to show Coldplay our disappreciation of all seating?
You are quite insulting! I could take offence but why would I bother with you? You have no regards for debate or your fellow fans feelings. Ditto to you about persisting with dull arguements. Any band should be thankful to fans, it is not the fans who should be thankful for the band. Are you similarly bored by Chris Martin going on about "Make Trade Fair" and "Ofam" campaigns. Where I see an injustice I will point it out and you will not stop me. In fact you just encourage me, because you are part of the problem! You think you are so much more of a fan than everyone else and whatever you believe is fact. I might not agree with you but I can respect your opinion, you should do likewise instead of resulting to your infantile statements. So I bore you! What are you contributing to this debate other than insults?

I do! I work against injustice!

You are so blinkered! Okay so coldplay start charging 1,000 pounds for a gig will you go and happily pay? There is no other option if you want to go! I offer feedback, it is called feedback because it is a way of improving things. It is also called democracy and free-speech. Something you do not like you try to change it. There are agents of change in life who try to improve things for others not themselves, that is what I try to do! This is not your board so do not tell me what to do!

Touche! Aren't you whining about whining? So why don't you stop? This is debate, people are not happy so they are telling coldplay what they think. Is that wrong? Isn't criticism, debate our way of improving things? Coldplay are not Gods! They are a band who depend on fans for their income. It is their brand and they are responsible for how they sell their brand. I think they are upsetting a lot of fans recently with ticket prices, no fan pre-sale and ticket distribution policies. I think if you look after your fans then they look after you. Coldplay are not looking out for fans right now.

So you think that when a lot of people are not happy with something they should just accept it? Are Coldplay something so great they should not care what fans think? Hey maybe they should just auction every single seat off to the highest bidder, wouldn't that be fairer? How much will you pay for your seat???

Is there some way to show Coldplay our disappreciation of all seating?
I made this point on another thread. Here in the US, seating is more common and the big that happens here is that the best seats never even make it to general sale. For example, the best seats for coldplay in Las Vegas never even made general sale. There was a premium seat auction on ticketmaster-where you had to pay hundreds of dollars for a great seat. All the best seats were scalped or given to sponsors and the only way the ordinary fan can get great seats is to pay about face value from touts or secondary market. Radiohead tickets for Hollywood Bowl, L.A. have been changing hands for thousands of dollars for $65-$75 tickets. The competition for great seats is frenzied and crazy!! At least Radiohead had a fan sale-which is where I got mine! I got front row for coldplay in vegas through a connection-which still involved me doing some accountancy work for free, so really they cost me $200 above face value. This is standard in the US and I fear if you do nothing it will happen in the UK. It is far easier to scalp/tout seats than general admission because a great seat becomes more valuable. It simple economics, if there are 3,000 general admission tickets all those could potentially get to the front. But when there are less than 50 front row seats, well you have something much rarer! Resist and protest otherwise what is happens with gigs and tickets in the US will become in the norm in the UK. That is what ticketmaster, live nation and touts wants!

PLEASE HELPPP!!! WHY ARE THERE NO STANDING TICKETS FOR COLDPLAY ON SALE????
I think you are kinda deflecting the underlying issue under the cover of disabilities. A disabled person will still have to be restricted to a designated disability viewing area due to fire regulations. In the event of a evacuation, wheelchair bound patrons have to assited by venue staff or their helpers. Some venues require you to read the evacuation notices to be able to attend. So a disabled person in an all-seater arena will still be restricted to disabled viewing areas-they still cannot get front row because their is no wheelchair escape route in arenas from a floor area. The main problem with all-seater venues in the US is that the premium seats now end up getting scalped. They recently auctioned off the premium seats for coldplay through ticketmaster. The best seats went for $750 each. With the comp/sponsorship system in the US venues, there was no chance for the ordinary fan to buy 'premium' seats on general sale or at face value. In my experience of getting a ticket for Coldplay in Las Vegas(which is all-seater), I had to buy/swop tickets till I got to Floor D-still 20 rows back. Fortunately, I had a client who worked for MGM who got me Front Row seats and in return I paid face value and did this persons taxes for free-which if I had charged him would have been my standard hourly rate of $200. So it was only through connections that I have great tickets. I could easily sell these for $1,000 each. This is the standard reality of all-seater venues in the US. The best seats are gobbled up by corporate sponsors, touts and punted out to the highest bidders through auctions or brokers. This is not fair distribution and equal access whether you are disabled or not.

Setlist
I'm hoping for Amsterdam, but I think we will get every new song bar one or two....since I am in Vegas and I believe the Killers are coming to watch, I think we might see a cover of "sams town". they covered the killers last time in vegas too

PLEASE HELPPP!!! WHY ARE THERE NO STANDING TICKETS FOR COLDPLAY ON SALE????
the point is if a venue is all-seater, then your ticket will only allow you in to the section your seat is in. if you are way up in the Gods or far back, you are stuck there for the whole concert. its not like you can move and find a better spot to stand. all-seating creates a have and have nots mentality-the ones who can afford the front seats become priviledged and the majority who get the crap seats feel resentful. seats are all about crowd control and keeping you in one place...god forbid you should get into the priviledged areas. its wrong it creates a pseudo class system that rock n roll is supposed to rebel against.

We, the undersigned, object to the UK tour "no fans' pre-sale", "no standing" policy!
I feel sorry for you guys! As a Brit living in Las Vegas, I fully support your aims. I have only sat down twice for a gig-out of about 250+ gigs. Once was for a Prodigy gig when I had a twisted ankle-so it was a necessity. The other was for Coldplay here a few years back. I will be sitting down again in July-though I have front row seats, I had to bust a gut to get front row seats too. You should all stand on your seats and right at the end you should all fall off your seats and injure yourselves and then get on the phone to claims direct and sue!!
-
sit down, shut up?
it looks like there could be a sectioned off standing area at the front to avoid crowd surges...hopefully it will be first come, get into that area
-
sit down, shut up?
yuck! sitting down is for watching TV or a nice play or something quiet, relaxing....going to a rock concert is very un-rock n roll. you can kinda get away with it in the US because it is so par for the course. In the UK, the concept of sitting down for indie/rock bands is so not cool and most gig goers do not want it. Sitting down tickets are like a last resort choice in Britain ie. all the standing have gone!

tour tickets
The Atlanta show is at the Philips sponsored arena, so Philips gets a number of tickets to giveaway. Also, you get employees of the arena able to get ticktes in advance and some other patrons pay a retainer to get seats for every show. This is how the system works i'm afraid. Hope that answers your question.

Las Vegas tickets mystery
yeah i have heard of that happening, you just have to luck out. i just got an email from mgm offering ticket/hotel packages for the police this weekend-a really amazing deal for $300-$600! well i can see if i can find any upgrades. i'm not interested in any money, just a belief in helping fans.

Las Vegas tickets mystery
its not certain, it depends how many guests ask for tickets. and obviously we will have to wait and see what tickets they are....there will be lower price level tickets too. i am guessing that although it will sell-out, i don't think the tickets are that hot to most mgm customers-they have the police, madonna coming up. i think some will find there way back to ticketmaster. i would try ticketmaster in a week or two and see if anything comes up. this is what i did last time coldplay played mgm. all the top price tickets were gone when they went on general sale. i kept checking and two weeks before the gig i got floor tickets. are you looking for any particular seats? i have a few contacts and have been offered real good seats for floor and near stage. i can keep an eye out for you at least and let you know if anything turns up

Image of Coldplay STAGE Setup from ticketmaster
the stage seems to wrap around the floor, it should be more involving for the crowd-especially if you are further back

They do have tickets promised! You can't get the actual ticket until they have them. Basically, sponsors/patrons of MSG and record companies, radio stations, promoters have all been promised tickets for this gig and sadly some will sell their tickets-certainly the roadies/tech guys who can make an easy few hundred bucks. There are some 12,000 tickets that are going to be allocated to the above people i just listed.
