  1. I actually hadn't listened to much Coldplay in the past few months until I heard VH and VLV. Then I busted out all the albums and I've been listening to them a lot. But I'd have to say that I agree it's best to maybe go in a little cold turkey. I know that I had listened to too much Weezer in anticipation for their Red Album and I already feel a little burnt out on the =w=eez. So I'm not going to do that to myself with the new CP album.
  2. Can't wait to hear VLV live... I have complete confidence in Coldplay to pull it off. They never sound bad live!
  3. I like The Scientist best I think... not sure. But I really was underwhelmed by Fix You's vid.
  4. What's this talk of a Bakery? Did Coldplay record songs inside a Bakery?!
  5. The Scientist. It's always the most played. That song is one of the most beautiful and sad songs I've ever heard in my entire life. The lyrics "go back to the start" can mean so many things to so many people. Everyone at some point or another would just like another chance, to go back to the start. Second place goes to Clocks. That song chills me out and makes me feel great. Third place goes to Violet Hill. I think this song is amazing but I'm trying not to listen to it or Viva La Vida too much before I get my hands on the physical album.
  6. I listened to all the CP albums today... and my opinion of them is pretty much what it has been for a long time. 1.) Rush o blood baby 2.) X&Y 3.) Parachutes ... wait, WHhhaaat did you say?! Parachutes... LAST?! I honestly feel that the latter half of Parachutes is great but the beginning isn't that terrific or outstanding. I usually skip most of the first tracks. I, as someone above has stated, don't or rarely do skip tracks on X&Y. And everything on Rush of blood is great. Seriously. That album is perfection. I understand people like to "go against the grain" and not like something because everyone else likes it... but I'm not going to be lame and do that. I like what I like. I haven't kept up, but I've heard Coldplay are really disowning X&Y for whatever reason. Wonder if that means we won't hear many songs from that album on tour. If nothing else I'm in need of Fix You and Message. I imagine we'll get Talk eh?
  7. Oh man... I love Weezer. They are in my top 5 favorite bands ever. Coldplay is in there too obviously, haha. I have the Red Album right here. And it's awesome IMO. Very different than their usual affair. This song is the closer to the album "The Angel and The One" and I think it's one of their best songs lyrically in a long long time. The Greats Man that Ever Lived is awesome too!

My opinion of porn is thus: We all have certain natural "urges" and "needs" and for those unsatisfied, a leering eye can find it's way to pornography... it is not necessary but it can help "satisfy" those who are unsatisfied. In the context of a relationship, I do not see how it is needed or how anyone would want it. If you are in a relationship, you should be getting your "fill" and that should be all you need. I feel almost like it's cheating to look at porn if your in a relationship. That's a personal deal, I don't think that it actually IS cheating and I don't condemn those who enjoy it. This said... I think if introduced at an early age it can warp the mind of the person watching it. No, it won't make them a sicko or something. I think it will warp their perception of what sex is... because porn is fake and those who are too young to understand it may perceive that this is acceptable and "the norm." It might also make boys look upon women more as sexual objects than as people. But this is just my opinion. I don't think it's good and I don't think it's bad. But I know I and no one else needs it... and if it becomes an addiction it's no better than drugs or alcohol.
  9. To be honest with you... I think the best approach to writing music is not having one. Don't think that there's a "way" to do it. You can write a song from any angle. I just wrote one where I wrote the ending first then went back and wrote the rest. When I write lyrics down first, I generally just sing whatever seems natural and then play chords to satisfy that melody. Then you play with it and see where it takes you. Sometimes as I'm writing the lyrics I think of the melody without a guitar/piano around at all... and then come to that instrument with that melody in mind but it might change. For example, I wrote a song on Piano and then took it to guitar. It completely morphed into another possibly better song... There are no rules.
  10. I remember when I first heard it, I was definitely disappointed but still sort of enjoyed it. Of course I loved SITS and Til Kingdom Come. The rest are kinda "ehhh" but I like it. I don't think CP have made a "bad" album. This just happens to be their worst. That's pretty good if they haven't really even made a bad album.
  11. I can't wait. I'm listening to X&Y just wishing it was Viva La Vida and Death and All His Friends... But if there WAS a leak available (there isn't is there?)... I wouldn't download it. No no. I'm waiting until it hits stores and buying it rushing home and relaxing to the pure sounds of Coldplay. I mean, I've already got to hear three of them already. I don't want anymore! I want the rest all at once! Downloading a leak sort of ruins the surprise and fun of getting that new album with the album artwork and popping in the disc, etc.
  12. Oooo... sounds great! Who says you don't have a good voice? You have a very nice voice, it's the way you sang it at times that makes it feel a little off in one or two places. But no man I'm not trying to say it's bad. IT WAS GREAT! Do you know where I can find the tabs? How do you play it?
  13. I've been a "casual fan" of Coldplay for YEARS. Ever since I heard them for the first time, I heard Yellow and thought it was fantastic. I never heard the whole album though. Then when AROBTTH came out I burned it and well, I think we all know what songs are on the first half of that album. ... when X&Y came out my fandom had built to where I was anticipating the release so I bought the album. My first initial impressions were "ehhh it's okay" ... just feeling like "Fix You" was trying to be like some of their better songs of the last album but not quite being as good. I found a lot of it only okay. Then Message came on and that was and still is one of my all-time favorite CP songs ever. Mixed emotions, the album wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. Soooo. I kind of forgot about them then one day a friend of mine who is a HUGE CP fan showed me Violet Hill and Viva La Vida. After hearing them about 10 times a piece I cannot get those songs out of my head. They make me feel alive and wonderful... they have a magic to them. I just can't stop loving them. So obviously my anticipation level for Viva La Vida and This is a long album title is through the roof. I can't wait so I had to come up on here and share some of the love.
