  1. I am hoping I don't double post this. Everytime I post something it disappears when I re-visit the thread? Huh? It still says I've posted though.
  2. I'm super pumped about new Weezer, everything has sounded so good they've released from the new record so far.
  3. Weezer's Everything Will Be Alright in the End. I've had a chance to hear the whole thing and let me tell you it's probably the best thing they've put out since the 90s.
  4. Weezer's new concept album produced by Ric Ocasek, Everything Will Be Alright in the End. I've heard the entire record even though it's not out until October 7th and I have to tell you that it's probably the best thing they've put out since the 90s. There's a few tracks officially and unofficially out there already. Foolish Father is fantastic and has an awesome choir of people singing "Everything Will Be Alright in the End."
  5. It reminds me of the Rush of Blood era (or a mixture between that and X&Y)... it definitely sounds like old Coldplay and that's cool. However, from a songwriting perspective I think it could've been better. It's "pretty" and "mellow" but it doesn't have that epic flair to it that most great Coldplay tracks have in them. The lyrics aren't bad, but they are short and simple, they could have been smarter but there's nothing really wrong with them per se. It's strongest assets right now I think, are that it's new and sounds like old Coldplay. But I wouldn't say, at this time anyway, that I think it's amazing by any stretch of the imagination. It's just... alright. I definitely like the chorus. Just feel like it never quite reaches where it COULD go. Feels slightly underdeveloped. 8/10 Also, I highly doubt the sound of this track is indicative of LP6. I think it's, it's own thing.
  6. I agree. It was one of the most artistic, creative and downright beautiful music videos I have ever seen. When the squirrel explodes and butterflies fly out into space and surround Chris and the lady. Wow. I can't even begin to imagine how long it took to film this.
  7. Sometimes when I write a song. I only say the words I have finished writing and kind of slur and make up words for the filler spots so I can work on the melody. This sounds quite unfinished so possibly there are no words in those places. .... to the guy leaking this stuffs. UPLOADZ some more!! Please?!
  8. So does copying someone else's melody you heard somewhere once long ago and didn't realize you were doing it. I didn't do that myself with a melody, but I realized one day a song I was writing was the same chords as a song by Rush at a similar tempo. And I probably hadn't heard that song in years. I subconsciously probably did it because I wanted to write a song that sounded like it was from the 80s. But tons of songs use similar or the same chord progressions, it's the melody that sets them apart. And the beginning of Satriani's melody is the same exact thing as CP.
  9. I'm a big Coldplay fan. But I have to be honest here, I think they may have unintentionally ripped this off. It's one thing to copy a chord progression, which isn't a big deal. It's quite another to copy a melody. The vocal melody of VLV follows Satriani's chorus melody pretty much identically, the same duration and shared rhythmic sense and the same notes at the beginning of the melody. I think they also both end on F at the end of the melody. Not to mention the chord progression is pretty much the same thing as well as the tempo. I think, of course, VLV is a much better song... but that doesn't mean it hasn't been ripped off. I think a lot of CP fans on here are being condescending towards Satriani because he "isn't as good" as Coldplay. I saw someone mocking his website's design. Just because Coldplay are more successful does not exonerate them from something like this. Especially if a Grammy is involved. Think about if you were Satriani and you wrote those chords and that melody and a few years later some other band does almost the same thing you invented yourself and get a Grammy for it. I don't blame him. If CP did come up with their idea on their own as well as Satriani it's one crazy coincidence. But I honestly think they may have accidentally copied something they heard somewhere or another at one time. His track came out first by a few years so it's obvious he didn't do the opposite. ... ah well.
  10. I don't know how many of you have seen it but.. The Pork and Beans video on YouTube is pretty much the most awesome thing ever. ... LIGHTSABER DRUMSTICKS!! haha!
  11. I almost bought the PS3 version... thinking the graphics would be better. Haha. It's good to know I made the right decision. Although I don't see how the graphics should really be any different at all... and if anything, it SEEMS like the PS3 version would be better. Ah well. *shrug*
  12. If um... someone would be so kind to send me a pm... about uhh, how to uhm, play... um coldplay songs... yeah... on guitar. :)
  13. I wouldn't by any stretch of the imagination call Viva La Vida "pop." Anyway... I thought the performance was almost cd-quality awesome.
  14. Same happened to me. (But I only tried once)... and I didn't just get a confirmation that I won anything sooooooooooo :(
  15. WAIT!! I live in the United States, but not in L.A.! How do I listen to KROQ to get a chance at winning those tickets? ... kind of sucks that it's limited to that radio station... and winning for a chance to win something else. lol.
  16. I only just got it. WOW. It's pretty impressive, the graphics are mind blowing. I'm only 4% done with it so far, haha.
  17. Maybe he really does have the songs and he just doesn't know what good music is. haha.
  18. I didn't feel that it really recaptured the spirit of the older movies... but Harrison Ford nailed being Indy again... it was just the general script that was the problem. After 19 years I didn't think it was worthwhile as much as LC, that movie felt a lot bigger and more interesting and had a better story to tell... plus it ended perfectly with everyone riding into the sunset. How better to say goodbye to Indy? ... we didn't need to know what happens to Indy honestly. Heroes either die young or live long enough to become the villain.
  19. Well... sometimes... Uhh, anyway. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :)
  20. You'd think I'd have... well this is kind of a lie. I've done Yellow and Til Kingdom Come acoustic before. But this is the first time I've recorded anything. I did "In My Place" earlier today on my lunch break: Clickity Here to take a gander ya'll... I realize my voice is awful. *shrug*

I gave in... I listened. And it just drips of amazliciousness.
  22. I really wish my range was larger... I haven't tried doing scales daily but I sing almost every day... I'm going to attempt the scales thing every morning as soon as I get over this cold I've had for the past few weeks that's got my voice all messed up. I hope that I can improve because I want to expand my musical abilities... Chris' voice is so amazing and it sounds like he puts so little effort into sounding that way. I wonder if some people just "have it" ... I wonder if he has to use scales.
