  1. I haven't heard Bucket For A Crown but it sounds from the title to be a similar theme to Viva La Vida and I knew they were both written a long time ago. I find it hard to believe that they held onto Viva La Vida for over a year before it was released. If I had written a song as great as that I would want the whole world to hear it immediately. I wonder which was the song Chris Martin said was their best ever in an interview over a year ago. I'd guess it was either Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Maybe that's why the album has this title.:wink3:
  2. Did Bucket For A Crown become Viva La Vida?
  3. Now this definately sounds like U2 but it's still a great song.
  4. VLV was embarrassing. Obviously someone started the backing tape ( which is embarrassing in itself) too soon and Chris Martin had to start singing whilst Jay Leno was still talking. They need to get a back-up keyboard player soon because their "live" shows are becoming very bland. The Killers use a multi-instrumentalist for their live shows and it works brilliantly. Why Coldplay can't do this is a mystery because when the critics latch on to this they will get even more stick. Their credibility will plummet until they sort this out, because so far their live performances have been a joke.
  5. Exactly the point I was making. Why can't they use a keyboard player for the tour. If they're not gonna play it live then why bother?
  6. When you really like a band you want everyone to feel the same, but that's never going to happen. Can you think of one famous band that has never been criticised? Some people think Violet Hill is the best thing Coldplay have ever done, which amazes me because I wouldn't have even released it as a single. I played Viva La Vida to someone who thought the music was great but couldn't stand Chris Martin's voice. It's surprising to us, but you can't account for taste. I agree with one criticism in the article. Chris does not do himself any favours when he starts prancing about stage. It doesn't look good, and he doesn't sing as well, whereas when he sits at his piano his voice is far better and he does their songs justice.

You're not gonna like this. http://www.nme.com/reviews/coldplay/9777
  8. Why does everyone think they need a string section for VLV. They could get the same effect on a synth. I think they need to add a keyboard player for live performances as it's getting embarrassing watching them start the song on synths then walk away leaving them magically playing themselves.
  9. If you're going to perform a great song, and it is one of their best, then at least make it as good as the recorded version. All the time they have taken to make this album and they couldn't even do one track live without backing tapes. They would have been better off not performing this song at all until they could do it fully live, and do it justice, because all they have done is lost credibility with last night's performance.

  11. Actually he could sing that and just drag "try" out a little and it would sound fine. I think now we've cleared that up he should sing this version from now on. I'm sure he'll be studying this site for potential lyric alterations.
  12. It's always bugged me. In the closing part of the song Chris sings "tears stream down your face and I." This doesn't make sense. Can anyone explain it?
