  1. I've only been able to find the digipack, and I've looked in every store in the county that sells music. Curse you Wal-Mart, for driving all three independent music stores out of business. I shake my fist at you. The packaging for The Eraser is so awesome. :P
  2. I've preordered the album already, so whether I want it or not it's mine. :p That being said, having heard the leak, I would have paid twice what I did for the album. Effing amazing.
  3. I gave up and gave in. I have to say... accapting that I have no self restraint was totally worth hearing the album early.
  4. ^Completely off topic, but I clicked on your Last.fm thing and you have fantastic music taste. :smug: I have found that listening to all of the Muse albums I've been ignoring lately is a great way to keep my mind off the leak.
  5. Grumble grumble grumble. No free MSG tickets. I have pledged not to listen to the leak. There is a thread that keeps luring me in like it's an angler fish. Today is not a good day. :P
  6. Wow, so every time you change the title I click on it, thinking it's a new thread...:dozey:
  7. The album leaked while I was in the computer lab at school and I spent the entire period having an intense debate with myself over what to do. In the end I decided that the self-gratification of knowing I resisted, plus the extended period of anticipation and experience of having the physical CD outweighed the idea of instant gratificaion combined with that terrible feeling I get after I listen to a leaked album. :\ That being said... This isn't easy. I'm also swearing off all other Coldplay music in order to remove sources of temptation and to allow me to have a fresh ear for songs like Violet Hill, Viva la Vida, Lost, etc when the album is released.
  8. Ugly people are the best. I didn't really find it exceptionally funny until I reached "I wish death upon their kittens". Wtf?
  9. Groan. I was really excited for a second there. Not that mind getting to watch the effects again.
  10. I think I entered twice because of it. I'm not one of those people who clicks "send" over and over. :P I was really worried it was just my account for a while, but you have given me new hope! I honestly could hug you. Do we know when they're sending the tickets?
  11. I was thinking... Did anyone else enter with a Hotmail account and find that it took an extremely long time to get the first confirmation email? Because I got one sent to my Yahoo account three days before the Hotmail one. Perhaps this means that some of our congratulatory messages are just... delayed. :smug:
  12. I am in PA too. Based upon this reasoning, I deserve tickets. :P
  13. I just checked my email and had one unread message... from Apple with my iTunes receipt. GAH. I almost died. If the whole NY residents thing is true, I'm even more pissed. My cousin, who lives within five minutes of the Garden, has been wanting me to come up and visit for months and I didn't even think to suggest that she enter the contest. Not cool.
  14. Gutted. I, being jobless and all that jazz, am unable to afford tickets so this was my only hope to see them live this tour. Well, I've never won anything else in my life anyway...
  15. In the end, why do we care what anyone over on their message board has to say about Coldplay? At this point, none of them are over here bothering us, something I can definitely see happening if we "start some shit." Plus Radiohead is, in my opinion, so amazing that they are incomparable to any other band on the planet. :P

I was looking at some of the new images from today, and it's definitely not a patch but a two-toned sleeve. That should be fun to replicate. :P I saw that... Your explanation sounds spot on. Their level of personalization of their look this year is fascinating.
  17. That was one thing I kept in mind while watching it, and one of the reasons I never bother to buy concert DVDs. When you're there in person, it doesn't matter how much they suck, your excitement plus that of the hundreds or thousands of people around you is what makes it amazing. Was it just me, of did they have Chris' vocals up WAY too high? I could barely hear the rest of the band, and it made his problems stand out. Awesome icon btw.

Awesome. Do you have any good idea of the composition of the left sleeve? Because ALL of the promo shots have him from the right, and I can't figure it out.
  19. I admit, it will get them a huge amount more attention in the US. Viva la Vida was back at number one on iTunes today, and I'll bet it wasn't a coincidence... That being said, the MTV crowd is, for the most part, people I don't want to share Coldplay with.
  20. It got buried about ten pages back... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG8IKgDYyqE EDIT:
  21. Honestly, my favorite part was that Edward Norton introduced them. When he came out I was something like "OH MY GOD. ED! AND COLDPLAY!" And then my head exploded. I didn't think the performance was all that bad, but something happened to our DVR when we tried to rewind it for my father, and it got stuck in a groove and played from the second verse five times in a row. Eh, it was MTV anyway, and MTV consistently manages to destroy everything it touches. It must have been the brainwaves from the legions of disgusting teenage girls who were hoping for someone like 50 Cent that killed it.

Yeah, it's a bit of everything... very generalized and simplified military design. I love how they give the obvious "French Revolution" impression without really grounding it anywhere specific in time or place. What interview was it where Chris said the band designed the clothes themselves? My mother (*Coughcoughhackcough*) has made me a bet, and while the terms of it are a little too embarrassing to post here, if I win she makes me all four of their outfits, plus whatever else they wear in future photoshoots that I find awesome.;)
  23. This does nothing but confirm my suspicions that the members of Coldplay are actually time-traveling refugees from the planet Gallifrey. Forgive me Father, for I am a dork.
