  3. Something I just read... Coldplay set a new record at Acer Arena Coldplay’s four-date run at Sydney’s Acer Arena has seen it set a new attendance record at the venue. It is for the highest number of concert tickets sold for an act performing over multiple nights, moving a total of 58,943 tickets. The record of 57, 788 previously belonged to Justin Timberlake from his November 2007 tour. Others on the Acer Arena list are Eagles (51,501), Red Hot Chili Peppers (45,329), Bette Midler (44,622) and Neil Diamond (43,780). Acer Arena General Manager, David Humphreys said “Coldplay has taken the arena to yet another level with this result. I know firsthand that we have had very happy customers over the last couple of nights. Coldplay really do deliver a fantastic concert experience”. Michael Chugg from Chugg Entertainment added, “We are thrilled with this news but not surprised. They are one of the greatest bands in the world today. People have been e-mailing me and texting with the most glorious comments, it’s just fantastic”. Coldplay played their last Australian show of this tour last Sunday (15th March) at Acer Arena before continuing onto to New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. http://www.themusic.com.au/imm_display.php?s=christie&id=1060&d=2009-03-17 There's other Coldplay news on there too, some regarding Sound Relief :nice:

  15. The best seated tickets are more expensive than the standing ones :D My Row 3 Oasis ticket turned out to be the first row of the section! What irony, just 2 weeks back, my 1st row ticket to Coldplay became 3rd row :dozey: Random observation, but a few butterflies from the Coldplay gig were still on the ground during Oasis just now
  16. Yeah only the cheapest seated tickets were gone. But when I go to a concert I'd always try to get the best ticket possible. Not because I'm rich because I really really really want to have a good view. It's a bit disappointing to go for a gig and be so far away to see only ant-sized figures on the stage. Moreover I love taking photos at concerts so I need to be relatively close to the stage to get good enough shots. I didn't want to buy the standing ticket because 1) I won't get a good spot since I'm going to reach there late and 2) I think the crowd might be a little rough :\
  17. Oh  I'd be lucky if he doesn't start spewing expletives at me onstage :laugh3: I really shouldn't be spending so much money, that's why the :embarassed: face. Yeah, I think the maximum the stadium holds is 13,000. Which is a lot of difference considering the arena in Sydney can hold up to 22,000 people :stunned:

I gave the ticket to a friend there :disappointed: Hope he likes his early birthday present :P
  19. Awwwwwwwwwwwww nice one  Lovely memories no????? :nice: Totally off-topic again, but I just bought a ticket to Oasis later tonight. I still got Row 3 in the front-most, centre-most section at the back :stunned: Guess tickets aren't selling THAT well

I know. The worst thing was that BEFORE my leave was approved the flight tickets were cheap. Then after I got approval and bought my gig ticket, the cost of the flight tripled in price overnight :stunned:
  21. You know what, I could do with an ice cream now :\
  22. You catch on fast Chris :P
