yeah, your right - just thinking back, BBC Gigs was in June and then not much til December! LOL, even Jonathan Ross put on his twitter on Thursday that coldplay should have won. However I think that all the public votes, Coldplay never had much chance against a metal band and a girl band where the fanbase is totally different. Personally I think a lot has to do with the whole cool not cool/successful not that succesful yet idea behind it. Most of the years I think the Brits are desperately trying to be cool....which never will happen.

I do agree apparently, however they still did quite a hug promo here in the UK at the release and interviews etc. I don't think they were underpresented and they had massive airplay at least at capital...:) However I think that the british people like to have their artists actually in the country and not travelling the world. Coldplay is a worldwide band now so they have to play, promoted in other countries and the US is a big place to play. I don't think it would have been different if they would have been here, however I think it's generally a good idea to play some club gigs in the UK when releasing an album. P.

Have to agree the better and more sucessful people get over here the media etc. will do nearly everything to take them down. This guy in that blog obviously thinks what he thinks counts,..well it doesn't to me. I can't stand critics, neither music or film as it is always just their opinoen nothing more and nothing less. So, is he saying that all the people who actually pay £50. to see Coldplay are stupid and no nothing about music. Oh, I could go on and on about but I decided for a long long time not even to read any critics anymore as they are just rubbish! :)

You see I prefer them to be called pop then soft rock band...:)

I love that fact with Coldplay, just look at the Wembley gigs...Jay Z and Girls Aloud as support artist...that is two completey different ends of the market and both are good. Girls Aloud make actually good pop music.. And everybody who discovered how brilliant artist/musicans a-ha are are fine by me..:)

Talking about the performance....I found it really good, and so glad Chris kept his running around to a min. :)

LOL, was thinking the same...heard Gary on Capital FM yesterday morning and there he actually wouldn't it be fun if a spaceship would come into the stadium and Rob would come out...so, guess some to look out for in the summer...LOL

well, but this is what it always comes down to ...good music...no matter if pop, rock, hip hop or whatever... I liste to all kind of music as long as I like it...

I don't think it's bad to be called a Pop Band...look at Take That - they are pure pop but they make brillant brillant pop songs... P.

Totally agree...as the years go by the more weird the Brits getting. It's like they think, oh yes, we should give this to Coldplay but no everybody thinks Coldplay will get so give it to somebody else, just to give out the impression that we (the brits) are cool!!! Viva is much better then Speed of Sound...but then I am sure the fanbase of Girls Aloud did much more voting then the Coldplay fan base. I find it just really really weird that Coldplay can win 3 Grammys....but not one Brit Award!!! Off Topic...love TT, and they can sing live ....so why on earth were they miming last night!!!!

What is a Pop Band? One of the reasons why I love Coldplay is that they just so don't care, they like what the like no matter in what box other people want to put that. P.

Only a couple of awards get voted by the publich (best single, best live act), best album isn't voted by the public, I don't understand why they always give those awards to people you have one album out and then you have to wonder if you ever going to hear another album from them. I can remember a couple of years ago...the brits were all about The Darkness...where did they go? In vote a band like coldplay won't ever stand a chance against girls/boyband and metal bands. It's not so much that Coldplay didn't win it's more like why the reason behind hit....which in mind doesn't have anything to do with music. Petra

Well, I think that is what Chris meant when he said the british have a problem celebration themselves... The brits always trying to look like they won't go down the mainstream road, and will go for not the obvious winner. They have to ask themselves why Coldplay win Grammys but not one Brit this year??? Mainly because whoever gives this awards out trying to be cool. Take That for example didn't win any brits the last couple of years who were given out by the commitee only ever the fan votes.

Do we know if they will do a soundcheck this afternoon at the empire... P.

Just watched the Video...that is totally amazing!!! well, done guys!!! have to say I am very very impressed by the whole project and also of the band!!! :) Sadly at the time I was not on the board but I still find this very very impressive!!! :)

As far as I know it's not that simple or easy to take a child out of school during term - plus I think for the children it is actually better to have a staple live and not be on the road when they should be at school. Petra

I found it very interessting what she said about Jay Z and Chris and then the press made it out that she said it about Chris...that shows how the press twist every word. yeah, makes me think as well I finally should get down to the gym ..LOL

I think it's a lovely interview, personally I think Gwyneth is a very natural, normal person who was just lucky enough to be born into Hollywood and then also to make a fortune out of her job but that's her reality at the end of the day. Her and Chris relationship to me seems just normal, far to normal so that the press doesn't get their head around that two famous people can be together and not make a drama or a show of it. P.

Well, unless the other halfs of the rest of the band will be also walking the red carpet it with them, it would look rather stupid if Coldplay with Gwenth would walk the carpet... P.
