I had so much fun shopping for things to represent Houston and Coldplay that were unique. The mirror and guitar picks were part of the US VIP package from their concert in Dallas. I'll be there on the floor with a co-worker! We'll be in section D, row 3. I would have totally gone by myself if she had not wanted to pay for the VIP experience. I bet you'll be surrounded by new best friends before the end of the night!

Whew! Thanks for that info. I'm sad the smaller stage will not be part of the layout- our seats would have been perfect for that. Either way, it will be a fantastic show!

I did not hear about any reconfiguration of floor seats....can someone give any details? I've got tickets in section D, row 3, seats 13 & 14. Hoping my seats were not affected. SO excited to see these guys again, even if it's in Jerry World.

I'm right there with you Dianne!! It seems like I am always the "oldest" in the rows at the concerts I attend. I started loving the band around 1999 when I was pregnant with my youngest (now 13) and have been a loyal fan ever since. Now that I am pushing the big 4-0, I still can't see a day when I would not attend a show or go crazy watching a tv special like I did last night. I may be older than their label's considered target audience, but I love those 4 guys!

I did! I love the tshirts we got as part of the package, as well as a keychain and a numbered lithograph. I cannot wait until tonight! The VIP party starts at 5:30 - not sure what it entails, but there is food and a free bar! So very excited and cannot wait to see my boys again!!:D I'll be in row 7, seats 3 and 4. Hope to see many of you there!

We must have similar tastes, Dianne - Ray LaMontagne is the only other band I cared about seeing Friday as well. He is amazing live. It worked out great that he and CP are playing the same stage. I guess I'll have to gauge things after his show is over to see if I need to stay put through the Bright Eyes (never heard of them!) to save our place or if I'll be able to leave and come back. At least if we are all together, we can save our area if one needs to head to the bathroom or is in need of food/adult beverages. ;) Wishing all of you the best of luck tonight trying to get into the taping...please keep me posted and let me know if you make it inside. Add +1 - Susan! LOL Dianne - my hubby feels the same way! He likes CP just fine, but my constant rotation of their music has worn on him a bit. Thank God he still indulges me, though! I'll do whatever I can to get up front Friday as well. Hubby may have to hang back a bit with my 10 year old, but I'll be ready to get my elbows out, too, since I'm only 5'4". But when it comes to my "boys", I can act 6'2"!! :wink3: I look forward to meeting all of you & wish all of you safe travels today & tomorrow!!! Susan

Hi Dianne - Austin traffic is notoriously bad, especially during that time of day around the airport. I would be really surprised if you could get your bags, get a cab, go to the hotel and get back to the venue by 6. You could pray to the CP gods to have favor on you for good measure, but I would think that time frame would really be pushing it. Since it's "hypothetical", any chance you could get an earlier flight??;)

Wow - what any of us would have given for those tickets. :cry: Way to tell them Dianne! Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.....if that contest winner disliked CP enough to comment in the "hate" threads, why would they even enter a contest?

Still waiting with crossed fingers & toes for an email, too. Haven't heard about anyone getting that email yet, though.

So very excited to see that there will be REAL fans in Austin this weekend! I've been really bummed to hear all of the people who are giving ACL a hard time for having Coldplay do another taping....can you believe that? I hope all of those people will be watching Kanye while we are all enjoying a real show. :-) For those of you coming from all over the country....dress comfortably! It will be hot and humid, but we hope our Texas hospitality will more than make up for that. I hope to meet many of you there! Finally bringing my daughter to her first CP show (I always go with dear hubby). She is 10 and I've been a fan since I was prego with her in 2000. She is so very excited to see "Mommy's music" live - how cute is that? See everyone on Friday if not before....anyone else staying in the Domain area?

I'll be there again.... I'm loving that the guys are coming back to Houston and are playing in what is practically my back yard!! :D I'll spend whatever it takes to get great reserved seats..... 2 shows in Houston in one year?? I think I've died and gone to heaven!!! Viva la Texas!! Susan

Why yes, that does sound nice... Fabulous idea!! At least I could be hanging out with people who actually understand my love of this band - no more eyes rolling at me or people asking, "do you think you are still a teenager?" What a night!! Wow! What a great concert and evening!! I'm exhausted and still on cloud 9 all at the same time. It's tough to get back home (near the Woodlands) at 12:30am and have to get up with my daughter to get her ready for school at 6:05am!! Yikes, but WELL worth it!!! Any chance any of you guys saw me frantically waving my sign in Section B last night??? :laugh3:I tried to be really polite about when I put it up so I didn't block others view behind me. However, I had it up after Clocks (i think) and was jumping up and down with it and Chris actually looked right at me and said.... "We hope you have a good time tonight and KEEP WAVING THOSE BANNERS!!" I could have died right then and there! That made it worth lugging that thing around all night even if they didn't play Moses as my sign asked them to! :rolleyes: I wish I had been able to meet Angie or Pris, but I never got over to their section. Maybe next time! Well, back to reality and the countdown to the EP release next week. Wish I could be in Dallas for the show tonight, too.... Susan

Here's some news... Just got some information from people I know in the hotel industry downtown...... Gwennie was in Houston last night (Sunday) to catch the Madonna show here and both of them are staying at the Four Seasons downtown (with Madonna checking out sooner than Gwyneth). Mrs. Martin is said to be staying at the hotel and was waiting to meet up with Chris and the band today as they arrived from last night's show in OKC. HOLY CRAP - my all-time favorite band is here in Houston!!!! YEEHAW!!! I'm working on getting a babysitter right now so my husband and I can sneak away to the hotel bar for some drinks and possible sightings. :cool: Any other Coldplaying fans going to be in that area tonight? Anyone?? I can't wait until tomorrow!!! I apologize now to any fans sitting behind me in Section B because I'm going to be waving my sign like crazy!!!! :-) Susan
