  1. Again, a pit area in Starplex is a totally new concept for me. I've never seen it done at any shows that I've been at. Now maybe TheAngie should be the one to ask. I guess Coldplay had a PIT there the last time they played at Starplex??? I honestly don't know.
  2. Yeah, a catwalk, a B-stage, a C-stage is something totally foreign for Starplex. I'm not sure if they will be able to handle it. They will have to hire extra ushers/bouncers. They won't be at their usual station. Oh My! (Note the sarcasm.) If they pull it off, it will be shocking because no other artist that I know of has ever done that there.
  3. Yep, way back in 1989 when I saw my first show at Starplex, I sat in the second row on the right side, and my right ear has never been the same since. So when you here me say "What?" and/or put my hand behind my left ear to hear better...well, now you know why. (I hate stupid-ass Superpages.com, Smirnoff, Coca-Cola Starplex.)
  4. Yep, the sound is awful because the people that run the place like to have the speakers turned up at level 11. So if you're in the left or right front sections, I'm warning you now, bring earplugs because you will get blasted by the wall of speakers. The stupid place has these tiny worthless speakers in the back so what they do in order for the lawn people to hear, they crank up the speakers in the front. Stupid...yes. It's like being on the floor of a stadium show. As far as the slope is concerned, there is a slight slope, but it's no stadium seating by any means. It's more like auditorium seating. It's very similar to Nokia out in Grand Prairie, minus the upper deck of course.
  5. Well, fudge. It's almost like lining up for GA at a U2 show! Damn. There's goes my whole day and my sanity.
  6. I still have 1 reserve ticket for sale. Section 202 Row DD Seat 15 That's right behind VIP, and I think close to the soundboard. PM me for contact info. First come first serve.
  7. O...M...G... FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!! BEST MOTHER'S DAY PRESENT EVER!!!!! *sniff* (Now, anyone need to buy a front row in the 200 section right behind VIP? I know...it's a long shot.)
  8. OK...I just ordered a "PIT" ticket. I hope this means right in front of the stage. If not, I'll be pissed. What I mean is, I don't remember that much room between the first row of seats and the stage. Of course I could be wrong.
  9. ^Pretty much anything in the reserved section is a lot better than lawn. You should be fine. Comparing this place to an arena, the stage is a lot closer. The only bad thing about it is, it's outside...in the 100 degree heat. So pray for wind!!!
  10. Well...I'm not surprised at all that this happened. I had a very strong feeling this would happen. I already went through this with the George Michael tour. His pre-sale pretty much went the same way for the cheaper tickets. Otherwise if you wanted to sit up close, you had to choose a package. Anyway, I'm a huge U2 fan and for their last two tours they have mostly avoided these problems. How? GA on the floor is the answer. And too GA's were only $50. But there were still a few problems with pre-sale codes. Ticketbastard sets aside a block of tickets for the pre-sale and not the whole arena/venue. So for U2's last tour, you might have gotten GA during pre-sale, if not, there was a chance during the general sale to get a GA too. As far as this show is concerned, it looks like I lucked out. I'm in section 202 row DD, right behind the VIP section. I got them through Live Nation at around 11am. After getting that ticket I tried for better locations, but got nothing. I went over to Ticketbastard and couldn't get any better there. I wasn't surprised either that I wasn't getting any 100 section seats. After visiting a scalping site, I found a ton of 100 sections at vastly different amounts, but nothing cheaper than $250 and it went up fast from there. Now I did notice that the closest row I saw they had available was around row J. I assume the band has reserved the first 5-10 rows to pass out to people in the back like they did during the arena tour. So remember, that's Coldplay's way of getting back at Ticketbastard/Live Nation, and no front row auctions. If the band hasn't already reserved those front rows, well there just simply won't be any true fans up front.
  11. :shocked2: Wowwy!!! Chris is looking a lot better than he has been! I like him this way the best too...clean shaven...curly hair... I can't wait for tomorrow night!!!!! He's lookin' good!!! :wink3:
  12. You're welcome! The show should be OK, it's just the sound quality of Starplex isn't as good as anywhere else. Like I said, just be prepared to be blasted the closer you are to the stage. The wall to the left and right side of the stage is a solid wall of speakers. Of course I discovered that the hard way back in 1989. My hearing was never the same since. And yeah, it looks like this is the cheaper way to go for both the band and the fans. Ticket prices range from $35 to $97. That ain't bad for the front!!! That's why I want to get as close as possible. Also since it's in the middle of July, wear very light clothing. The place is a sauna until after the sun goes down. And drink lots of water while you're there. Of course most of the guys choose to drink alcohol, and with the Texas heat, it's not a good mix. So be prepared for the drunks too. It gets pretty wild. Also note that the show will go on rain or shine. That's why lawn sucks as well. You either fry under the sun or get wet from the rain.
  13. Whooo hoooooo!!!!! I really don't like the fact that they are swingin' back through shitty-ass Starplex...I hate that place!!! *sigh* Oh well, what can you do. And for those who haven't been there...reserved seats are better. Lawn seats are just OK. The stupid screens they have are so small there's no point in watching it. There's no difference in the size of the people on stage compared to the size of the people on the screen...it's ridiculous. But if you don't care and you just want to chill under the stars and not worry about seeing the band all that well...then get you a lawn seat. Oh, and for those seating in the reserved section, make sure you bring a pair of ear plugs. They always like to crank it up to level 10 on the stage due to the fact they have small shitty speakers for the lawn area. So instead of them having a nice set of speakers for those in the back, they would rather blast the people who are sitting in the front.
  14. O...M...Freakin'...G!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no clue they were coming back!!!!! I swear I did not see this coming!!!!! This is totally freakin' awesome!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! But.........now my only concern is where they are playing.... Shitty-ass Starplex...of course. [i will not call it by it's new stupid-ass name.] *sigh* Oh well. I'll do my best not to get a grass seat. Here's hoping for the best!
  15. Just read this over on Coldplay.com... Coldplay.com: "What was the worst mistake you made on stage in 2008?" Jonny: "Oh there were so many! Splitting my trousers on the run back from the C-stage bit was pretty hair-raising. It was in America, around Dallas time." O.o Did not know that!
  16. OMG! You're totally right! I've been thinking who else he looks like. Of course all along I thought he looks like House. Take a look at this picture mash...freaky!...
  17. I'll join the Curly Chris group! ;)
  18. Y'all are very welcome! ;)
  19. Here's another video fresh off of Youtube today! Whoooo Hooooo!!! Looks like those curly locks are coming back! :wink3: Here's to those not living in the UK... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U-IkMEMC2Q]YouTube - Coldplay - Life in Tecnhicolor ii (Live) - Best Quality[/ame]
  20. Thank you so much X Million!!!!! :D I see that Chris is letting his curly locks grow back! :wink3:
  21. Yes, please someone rip it! I would love to see it! But I can't since I'm not in the UK. I looked all over Youtube, and people uploaded other groups...not Coldplay! GRRRRR!!! If anyone finds a copy floating around on the net, please post a link here. THANKS!
  22. I don't know if this has ever been posted here or not, so forgive me if it has. I just found it on Youtube and thought this was a cool cover by The Dirty Heads... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlytqteLkSE&feature=related]YouTube - Coldplay - Viva La Vida LIVE Cover by The Dirty Heads (Raw Session Cover)[/ame] :D
  23. Well, it looks like they have moved up one place. Chris is 5th and Guy is 12th. It's easy to push both ahead. All you do is after clicking on the link above, just keeping clicking on the "GO" botton by the addy window for the page to reload over and over as much as you want or can stand to click. DO NOT click refresh. Voting is limitless. What I'm doing is giving Chris a 10 and Guy a 9, but the important thing to do is give all the rest 1's so that you pull them down. To go to Guy directly, change the end of the addy to "...9&id=101" Basically Guy is number 101. And to go directly to Chris change the end of the addy to "...10&id=14" Basically Chris is number 14. But again don't forget to give the rest ones. It's a great time killer if you have nothing better to do. ;)
  24. Not sure if they have been posted here, but did y'all check out the pics from RS? Here's the link... http://www.rollingstone.com/photos/gallery/24672824/backstage_with_coldplay_exclusive/photo/1 They were all taken in Dallas, Texas...the show that I was at! It's too bad the first shot was taken with some guy in front of him. I would have loved a close up of him in the Don't Mess With Texas shirt.
