[22-Jun-2012] Coldplay @ American Airlines Center, Dallas, TX, USA
Just checked the arrivals board for DFW, and there are no BA flights left listed...which means they are already here in Big D!!! Eeeeek! And as far as where I'm sitting...I'm only going to Friday's show and sitting up in the nosebleed section...way way up in the back facing the stage...should be real prudy up there with all the twinklin' lights. Planning on waiting for the guys Friday afternoon. What time should I be there? 2pm? 3pm? 4pm? when?

I wish I had known about these sooner...I hate the sponge ones! I need to look into these. Thanks for posting!

I don't know if you've heard, but it's as large as a record vinyl. Most people in the US have gotten theirs. Double check and see if you got a note to pick it up at the post office...that's if you have a small mail box. That could be a possibility.

Pffffft! Good luck! I think the closest for under $100, that I know of would be the Radison on Central Expressway (HWY 75)...it's very close to the DART rail system. OR...I think there's a La Quinta not too far up on Interstate 35...northwest of the AAC...can't remember the street though....just go to La Quinta's website. OR...your best bet would be to go to hotels.com (or something like that)...search for hotels near the American Airlines Center and look at your prices from there...the further you get away from the AAC of course the prices will start dropping.

Well, my guess is the Four Seasons...that's where they stayed the last time. But that's no where near downtown Dallas or the AAC...not real easy to get to if you don't have a car. It's at least 12 miles from downtown, but much closer to DFW airport. My guess would be to catch them at the arena as they arrive in for soundcheck. Never heard of fans meeting them at their hotel...not sure if Coldplay does that sort of thing.

May I suggest the House Of Blues? The food is pretty good and it's only a block or so away from the AAC.

It's not too late! They haven't even mailed them yet...those Live Nation bastards! Also this is for the whole year...you can subscribe in November and still get the U22 package. But if you really want one, sign up now. Because when they run out, it'll be hard to get one since they are sooooo slow about getting more.

Hey there U2 fans! Don't forget to take the U2 Fan Survey! It's lots of fun and sometimes hard to answer. Just keep in mind it will take you between 20-25 minutes to complete...and you have to do it in one sitting. http://u2fans2012.questionpro.com/

How about a U2 tune on Miami Vice? Here's U2's Wire on TV...pretty cool...one thing that I loved mostly about this show was that it played real music! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BlsDVkD3Hc&context=C4aaff7cADvjVQa1PpcFMdl7qY9GcxjGZrLMZ7ochus73pHixAVnw=]U2 Wire Miami Vice - YouTube[/ame]

^I was thinking of Sweetest Thing too! Basically a birthday song to Ali because back sometime in the late 80's he actually forgot Ali's birthday. Then the song became a B-side way back then, but wasn't remade until the late 90's as seen from the video with her in it! And now for something really funny... Exactly. Bono loves all women. If he could kiss them all, I think he would. But his wife, Ali, is not the jealous type at all. She knows he's flirty with the women folk, but she knows she's the only woman in the world that gets him in bed...and that is pretty satisfying. Shoot, I'd probably feel the same way if I were her too! Besides, Bono loves Ali very much. And over there in Europe, it's custom to kiss the girls...right? But yes, he has kissed famous women and fans on the lips for years...it's nothing. Ali knows who the real woman is in Bono's life...and so does Bono.

Yes! And yes there are some good tunes on there. If you have the special edition with the DVD, there's an easter egg of them as the Dalton Brothers. It's very funny!

Bono has said before that he doesn't feel right unless he's in front of 25,000-60,000 people each night. He says he feels right at home on stage. In person he's very quiet and almost shy-like, but he's a very sweet man. Basically, he's the total opposite off stage. And being in the audience of a U2 concert is like nothing you've ever experienced before in your life. I thought back in 2001 I was just going to another rock concert like Sting or George Michael, but I didn't. Most rocks shows you just need to see only once. But with experiencing a live U2 show, you get a much different feeling...after your first show, you'll want to see them a million times again. It's a feeling that can't be described with words. It goes from a rock show to being something very spiritual. When Bono says God is in the house...he is! It's like going to church but better. Their live music totally touches you to the core. After your first show you'll shout, "I get it!!! I can't explain it, but I get it!!!" And then you'll find yourself wiping away all those tears. After Bono hurt his back in 2010 and the threat of them to never come back, all those thoughts came back to me while at their re-opening show in Denver of last year. I was so happy they were back and healthy with even a new set list. I was a sobbing mess during the first half of the show. It was like I couldn't turn it off! Anyway, mark my word, you'll remember the date of your first U2 show as if it were your birthday. Mine was November 25, 2001, in Dallas, Texas, at Reunion Arena, and I was 7 rows up on the lower balcony on Adam's side of the stage...it makes me teary eyed just even thinking about it or even watching this... Yes! There were 3 Claws! Since it almost took a whole week to build and breakdown each Claw and with the tour schedule having only a few days apart for each city, that's when they decided to go with 3 stages. Most bands order/rent 2 stages on a tour so that they leap frog from city to city on the tour schedule. That's how bands like U2 and Coldplay play in 2 different cities back to back. And when they sold the claws, there was a special website where you could go to see the advertisement. Basically, it was only the skeleton structure that was up for sale. As far as the speakers that hung from it and the 360 video screen as well as the needle, they kept that. Anyway, they sold it as a stage structure or could have been the outer part to a building. Here's a documentary on how the Claw was created by scratch and how they did the whole thing...it's mind blowing...even the guys were blown away too!... The CLAW, as it was called, was totally amazing and out of this world! It was the tallest structure ever made for a musical artist. When I stood underneath it, it was hard not to keep looking up...it was so huge and cool at the same time. It was so huge that you would want to buy tickets to more than one show to get the full effect of it. I stood under all 3 different Claws four times...and I saw it's beauty from a distance twice. It was really like a spaceship! The Claw became like an old friend too. I saw it first in 2009, and didn't see it again until 2011. Later last summer, they were sold at silent auction the day after the last 360 show. To this day nobody knows who bought them or where they went. I miss The Claw. At least one of them should have been saved and used at a museum like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's part of music history and an engineering feat to boot! But Bono and the gang had no choice but to sell them...they were too expensive to keep in storage.
