She's just trying to deny the fact that they haven't been down here yet. I think we're gonna need quite a lot of signatures on the petition before we can send it to Tom Moffatt. We have to show we're serious about it, dammit. XD I don't want to give a specific number yet, I just want to work on getting more people to sign it. Hmm. I'm wondering if I should ask people in real life for their signature and put it on the petition for them. :thinking:

Lazarus is absolutely beautiful. There's also another song that I first heard when I got into PT and that was Half Light. It's off the Lazarus single and it's a very soft and quiet song. Very beautiful. iadamh named a few off the top of my head already, there's also Buying New Soul, The Start Of Something Beautiful (at first, anyway), Collapse The Light Into Earth, Feel So Low, The Rest Will Flow (this one's more about the lighter tone in the song more than anything), Where We Would Be, Baby Dream In Cellophane, Always Never, and possibly loads more that I've missed. But I just went through my collection to find those ones, so there's a start for you. :D

I still have my old jacket I made to look like Chris' draped over the chair I'm sitting on right now. :D I wish I could have a version of the one Chris wore at the Grammys though! And I bought a hat that looks very similar to Jonny's! I love wearing it. :wacky:

XD) New York, NY - Grammy-nominated UK recording artist Porcupine Tree have confirmed the title of their tenth studio album: The Incident. The captivating new record is set to be released on Roadrunner Records on September 22, as a double CD. The Incident is a stunning 55-minute musical statement, described by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Steven Wilson as “a slightly surreal song cycle about beginnings and endings and the sense that ‘after this, things will never be the same again.’” The seeds of the idea that led to The Incident came to Wilson as he became caught up in a highway traffic jam while driving past an accident. “There was a sign saying ‘POLICE – INCIDENT’ and everyone was slowing down to rubber neck to see what had happened,” he recalls. “Afterwards, it struck me that ‘incident’ is a very detached word for something so destructive and traumatic for the people involved. And then I had the sensation that the spirit of someone that had died in the accident entered into my car and was sitting next to me. “The irony of such a cold expression for such seismic events appealed to me, and I began to pick out other ‘incidents’ reported in the media and news,” continues Wilson. “I wrote about the evacuation of teenage girls from a religious cult in Texas, a family terrorizing its neighbors, a body found floating in a river by some people on a fishing trip, and more. Each song is written in the first person and tries to humanize the detached media reportage.” Additionally, Wilson delved back into incidents in his own life that had profoundly affected him, including a lost childhood friendship, a séance, his first love and the day that he decided to give up secure employment to follow his dream of making music. The self-produced album is completed by four standalone compositions that developed out of band writing sessions last December – “Flicker,” “Bonnie The Cat,” “Black Dahlia” and “Remember Me Lover” – housed on a separate CD to stress their independence from the title track. Porcupine Tree – completed by Gavin Harrison (drums), Colin Edwin (bass), and Richard Barbieri (keyboards) – took a video camera into the recording studio, capturing a few moments to share with fans. ^ I agree. Seeing the child portrayed like that on the album fit what I expected to hear on the album. Deadwing has a gorgeous album cover, though. I really like it.

Corrupt - Depeche Mode

The bass to Transmission is so hypnotising at the beginning. I love it. I've liked Joy Division for the past year, haven't been listening to much lately, though. :thinking: Atmosphere is one of my favourite songs. Along with Isolation, Leaders of Men, Digital, Love Will Tear Us Apart, and She's Lost Control.

Trains is beautiful. I wanted to buy In Absentia once, but my sister said the album cover freaked her out so she wouldn't let me. XD Props to Lasse for that. shipoffools, are you headed to the concert in Cleveland in September?

I fell in love from listening Lazarus and Half Light, off the Lazarus single. I got into the softer side of PT before exploring everything else. And oh wow, that's pretty damn cool. :shocked2:

Haven't heard much about what to do in the group. :thinking: We've got a list, it seems. With Viva La Vida, Fix You, Yellow and God Put A Smile Upon Your Face. But we haven't figured out which song to do first. We have some people who have volunteered to play instruments as well and a few singers, though.

I used to be obsessed with Green Day. Like, they were my one and only band. And while I'm not quite as obsessed, I still love 'em, along with the other bands I've picked up along the years. (Not so much U2 though, but that's another story for another day.) ColdplayRulesTheWorld: That's pretty cool, how you live so close to them! Have you been to any of their shows recently? Or any of them, for that matter? I keep wanting to go, but I don't think my mum would be very big on the idea of me flying to see a band.

No problem. ;) And jeez, someone put all of Arriving Somewhere... on YouTube, and though it's not very nice 'cause it takes away money from the band (yeah, I'm kinda with Steven and that whole "having the actual thing in your hand is better than a digital download of it". But I suppose I'm a hypocrite with all the mp3s I have of the different albums...curse my stores for not carrying them), I'm glad someone put it up so that I can see it as well. God, I love that version of Buying New Soul. I could listen to it forever. And how he broke a string while playing Trains. :lol:

I've seen it! And I want it so badly. I watched another movie today (Taken) and for a split second, I saw a guy in the movie that looked like Guy. :lol:

I started lurking about a month or so before I decided to join. Posted a bit here and there. I had a long time period where I just lurked the boards. :curtain: But I'm slowly trying to start posting and get out there more.

I quite like them as well. Been a fan for about three years now (not very long, I know). I didn't know there was all this tension and dislike over them here. :uhoh: And that's Billie on piano? I would've thought it was Mike or something. I like some of the new concepts they've been trying, like adding piano for a softer sound.

I think it's making a bit of an impact solely on the fact that it's been a while since Green Day has brought anything out. It's finally an album after five years, and the fans will go crazy with it nonetheless. I quite like a lot of the tracks, though, and the album overall. Favourites are probably 21 Guns, ¿Viva La Gloria?, and Before the Lobotomy. It sounds almost like the Green Day I knew back when I started listening to American Idiot and everything (like, they haven't changed their sound enough for me to think "Oh, this isn't Green Day."), so I'm content with 21st Century Breakdown.

I recall having that version of Strip The Soul, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is. :thinking: And oooh, wait, are you talking about the DVD Arriving Somewhere...? 'Cause I also have the audio to that. XD I've wanted that DVD for a while, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can't order it online either, just 'cause I know my mum wouldn't go for it. I'll just wait 'til I can borrow it from my friend to see it. XD On that note of performances, has anyone ever seen the live performance from Fletchers? If I remember correctly, it was around the time In Absentia came out. It was actually a very good performance, and if I can find the link again, I'll post it here for others to see.
