  1. Thanks! Oh man.. I still can't believe all that really happened! It's more than I had ever dared to dream of.. All thanks to Kirsten's banner! :D:dance:
  2. Thanks Jen, no problem at all! :nice: Here's the picture Phil took of Kirsten and me with the banner: :dance:
  3. Here are some pictures that should go with the review. I didn't take any at night during the gig because my camera sucks. But still, a few nice pics.
  4. Yeah! Oh and I forgot to mention in the second review, but Phil was on stage for a minute when they were setting up for Coldplay. I wanted to show the banner so maybe he would see it, but I couldn't get it up in time.. :(
  5. @ Joe: Phil actually took a pic of us with Kirsten's cam so it won't be on the website.. But I will post it with my review when I get it from Kirsten.. @ Antonia Hahahahaha! First, my camera sucks and second I was shaking so much I couldn't have taken a decent picture anyway! If mr. B. smiles at you like that; your brain stops working immediately! :P BTW; I just posted the review of the second night on the live thread. It's not so brilliant as the first, simply because nothing could top the first night but still..
  6. My review: Something incredible had to happen to top the first night. (For details check review in the 09/09 thread). Kirsten dropped me and my brother at the Goffertpark at around 9.45 AM. Carla and Chavi were already there and they kept spots for us. We had a lot of fun during the queuing despite of the lack of sleep! Bad humor in the early hours, I can guarantee you, is not healthy! Even before 1 PM they opened the first gate again. People were told not to run and the security kicked 2 girls out who were running! So glad we didn't and we had the same spots in front of the gate as we had the day before. I even took Kirsten's White Shadows banner with me again because I was trying to get front row again and I got addicted to Guy's killer smiles! So happy that Kirsten would let me take it with me! Thanks a lot! :D So at a little past 3 they opened the gates, I didn't get patted down this time, got my bag checked and ticket scanned and ran together with my brother! Sadly we weren't fast enough and by the time we got at the stage we got second row spots. No good for the banner.. :( Time went by pretty fast and the weather was glorious! Before we knew it, it was 6.30 PM and the first support act was on. Miss Montreal, a Dutch singer/songwriter with her band. She was fun and the set was pretty good! Especially because they had never played for this big an audience before. The second support act was White Lies and I was really looking forward to see them. They blew my away at Werchter and I really like their album. They were very good and the set was great! We were waiting till the roadies finished setting up the stage when all of a sudden I heard the first tunes of Magnificent! I didn't expect it to happen already! We sang along to the song and after that Jay-Z was on and Wayne did his break dance act! The audience loved it! :D Then the Blue Danube and we all clapped along.. After that.. The boys were on! I freaked out, second time in two days to see the best band in the world! I danced and sang and clapped and jumped! We were right in front of Guy and at the end of Violet Hill, Carla and Chavi helped me to hold up the banner for Guy. He saw it (couldn't miss it actually ;)) and we got another great smile from him! But since we weren't first row, I couldn't hold it up much because it would annoy the people behind us. I was kinda sad about that to be honest! But, I enjoyed the gig to the fullest. Holding C&C during Fix You, singing on top of my lungs trough out the whole show. Chris messed up Postcards, but that didn't matter. 65.000 people singing "Happy Birthday" to Jonny and Chris messing up whether it was his birthday on the day of the show, or the day after! Sadly, no Trouble today, but Green Eyes is a beautiful song as well. During the Viva remix, the crowd started the "ooooooh oooooooh" again which was great! You could see the smiles on the faces of the boys when they came back out on stage. Politik was another highlight, just as the day before. Lovers In Japan and we got covered in millions of butterflies. I didn't get many this time but that's okay. I've got plenty now. :nice: Before I knew it they played Death And All His Friends and that made me really sad. The show was almost over and it's my last one for this tour and probably my last one for a very, very long time. When they played The Scientist, I cried my eyes out. It was the end of a perfect night.. C&C and I hugged, my brother and I hugged and the guys played LIT ii. At first, I couldn't sing because of the lump in my throat. Tears were still streaming down my face and at one point I wiped them away and just at that moment Guy looked my way. I don't know if he saw it, but if he did, he must think I'm a very weird girl.. Well, he's kinda right about that.. Then the boys were off for real.. The roadies tore the stage apart and I just leaned on the fence, hoping to get something from one of the roadies. Had a little chat with the security guy from the day before, really nice guy! Then we walked back, got the CD when we left the park and we split up after hugging each other goodbye. Back at the hotel, lying in my bed I felt very empty.. Of course I'm happy because I've seen two great shows and had the time of my life. I enjoyed both shows to the fullest but the fact that this was the last show for God knows how many years makes me sad. I am now home, sitting on the couch and writing this review while listening to X&Y. White Shadows put a smile on my face, but I skipped Fix You.. Just because I know that tears will stream down on my face..
  7. No I didn't! I later realized that I should have asked Phil if I could get a picture with him, made by Kirsten. But he made a pic of Kirsten and me with the banner so that's pretty sweet! And touched his hand when he gave me the picks.. :wink3:
  8. Hi Lore! Bye Lore! Thanks guys, for the great responses! I still can't believe that this all really happened! Oh my, you should've seen Guy's smile!!!! :dead: Every time I close my eyes, I see it!:bomb: And Phil is a really lovely guy, interested and chatty :nice:
  9. Thanks guys!! Though all the credit for the banner goes to Kirsten. I only held it, which resulted in this awesome night! :D
  10. It was incredible!! I only wrote the first review, am now starting to write the second one.. :nice: Hope you like it!
  11. Both shows were unbelievably good! Seriously, go read my review of the first date 09-09-'09! You'll love the bit where we met Phil :D
  12. Brain dead! But better than I've ever been.. :dead: :D
  13. So here's my review: 09-09-09, a date to remember! I woke up at 4 AM and couldn't sleep anymore. The excitement took over and it was useless to try and battle it! Got on the 7 AM train towards Nijmegen and met up with my sister in law Kim. I decided to take her to the show when I won the tickets because she loves Coldplay as well. We arrived on Nijmegen Central Station at 9.15 and took the bus to the hotel. At the bus stop, Kirsten (littlemissmessy) was waiting for us with her car so we didn't have to walk all the way to the hotel with our luggage. We dropped the luggage in her room, had a last bathroom break and made our way to the Goffertpark where we arrived at around 10.30 AM. Let the long wait begin! All of a sudden, at around 1 PM they opened the first gate! We grabbed our stuff and walked in, the security told us not to run cause they would kick you out! Glad I didn't run. We got our spots against the fences and could hear the soundcheck. It was clearly a tape, but people still tried to see if the band was on stage. Hilarious!! At 3 PM the gates finally opened! I got patted down, my bags got checked and my tickets scanned. Then Kim and I ran towards the stage, Kirsten had made her way up there already. When we got there, Kirsten saved us spots.. FRONT ROW! We were standing on the far right of the stage where the ramp starts so we had a good view on Guy! :D:wacky: Another long wait, go to the bathroom for the last time and the first support act was on! Bat For Lashes, quite okay actually! It reminded me of Bjork, I liked it. Then the Flaming Lips. Quite a show, but the music wasn't my cup of tea. Loved their rendition of over the rainbow though! But we were there for Coldplay, so let's get it over with! While the crew was setting up stage, we did some roadie-spotting. We yelled for Hoppy, spotted Miller, Bash and Wayne. No sign of Phil though.. Finally, U2 is on and I'm going nuts! Then Jay-z and the dancing roadie, the blue danube and.. THEY'RE ON!!! Kirsten had this big banner that said; Please, please play the best bassline.. White Shadows. During In My Place, Guy stood right in front of us and we showed him the banner. The smile he gave us was priceless and it killed me at the spot! :dead: We kept holding it and I gave Guy my thumbs up, he kept on smiling. When we folded it, I was trembling like mad! The only thing I could get out of my mouth was; OH MY GOD! Yellow was great as ever, Chris asked us to sing the last line to Will, "Coldplay's scary drummer". :D Cemeteries of London, FINALLY!! I've been waiting for this song for so long, and when I saw Guy walking to the piano I was so happy!! :D:D The guys made their way to the B-stage, passing in front of us. We held the banner again and you could see Guy smiling. No reactions from the others though and Chris didn't even see it because he changed shirts before he went out and he had to run to get to the others. Chris didn't mess up The Hardest Part this time :nice: and he spoke a few sentences in Dutch. He also apologized for the rain which was sweet! We held the banner again when he made his way back to the main stage but he was running again so he didn't see it. Viva was great as ever and so was Lost. Guy on drums is great, a sight for sore eyes so to speak! :P Then the C-stage. The tape played was Singing it the rain which was quite accurate :nice: When the boys started Trouble I went crazy! I love that song sooooo much and I was really surprised to hear it! Really really great! Back to the main stage, Politik live is always awesome! I danced and jumped and sang on top of my lungs.. Oh wait.. I did that during the whole gig! :P :D During Lovers in Japan a whole bunch of butterflies fell straight in my hands! Which is really great because I'm going to decorate at least one room in our new house with them, so I need loads of them! After Death And All His Friends we held the banner again and Chris and Guy saw it! Chris nudged Guy and pointed at us and Guy laughed and said something like he saw it. Then Chris made some gestures like: sorry I can't play bass so I can't play it for you and he gave us a thumbs up. We went totally crazy! :D Then, the boys walked of stage and someone asked us what was on the banner. When we looked up, we saw it was PHIL!!! :shocked2::o He asked for our names and how many shows we had been to. He was very impressed with the number of shows we saw! :) Kirsten asked if he was in Munich too and he said he wasn't and I said; "ah probably because it was your birthday!" And Phil was like: "how do you know when my birthday is?!" Phil took a picture of Kirsten and me with the banner and Kirsten asked him if he could get us a setlist. I immediately asked if he could get me some guitar picks but at first he said he couldn't get some because the boys would be back on stage soon. We didn't ask any further and then Chris came on and we listened to him while Phil was still standing near us. During the Scientist, he came to us again and said he'd try and get something for us. He left for the stage and we freaked out! The Scientist always makes me cry (well, actually it does since Werchter) but I didn't want Phil to see my tears so I didn't listen to the song too much. Two minutes later Phil came back and handed us both a setlist and some guitar picks!! :shocked2::o We thanked him for like a million times and then he had to go. We totally freaked and the boys played LIT ii. We showed the banner for the last time and got more smiles from all of the boys! What a night!! I was totally trembling and I still can't believe what happened! I'll post the picture of Kirsten and me with the banner after I get it from Kirsten. It's still on her camera and she just got home so you have to be a bit patient.. 09-09-'09, a date to remember and the day I got killed by the most gorgeous smile ever seen..!! :bomb::dead:
  14. I'm home, writing my review from Wednesday and I'll do the one of yesterday after I finished that one. It were two great days but knowing that I won't see them again for a long time makes me sad. The withdrawal has hit harder than ever... :bigcry:
  15. Chavi, great review!! :D I'm thinking about mine, but nothing will come up so far.. :(
  16. @ Lovers: See you tomorrow! You won't be the only who is too hyped up to sleep :p I'll be the girl on my avi; but I'll be wearing a black jeans and my black top with butterflies on the front and the gig dates on the back. And probably my black jacket with my purple Will-like scarf! :D See you tomorrow!!!!!
  17. See you tomorrow!! @ Lovers in Japan; what time will you be queuing up?
  18. I'm not sure, but I think there will be busses. Since the gates will be opening at 3 PM..
