1. Looks like the tickets are going out folks, keep an eye on those inboxes!
2. This is the best I've got: LINK
3. Awesome cover, can you please share the chords with us?
4. Apart from sitting and trying on Wed at 9am PST for over an hour, I've been checking in periodically over the past 2 days (both via web and app), and still no luck. I know the closer we get, the harder it'll be, but I'm pretty disappointed that very few people got tickets for this. 1,800 people isn't much, but still, there should've been more success as far as the tickets go. Overall, pretty crappy experience (not the band's fault at all), but I'm bummed I won't get to see them this time around.
5. 15 minutes in and still nothing. Pretty shitty for an established company such as Ticketmaster.
6. I keep refreshing but nothing's coming up! Edit: It's showing now but getting a 'high demand' message
7. I remember seeing the same, around $59 which is awesome!
8. Confirmed. Tickets go on sale Wednesday!
9. Is it necessary to call into the radio station too? Or is online signup enough?
10. I was surprised to see Will playing this live. Not to try and discredit him or his musical ability, but that could be just for show, especially knowing that Coldplay uses a lot of click tracks (Clocks, Paradise for example)
11. Your best bet is to watch the videos and try to nail it by watching/hearing. I know the tuning of Chris' guitar is C# G# C# F C# C#, so chances of Jonny having the same tuning are about 99% I'd say.
12. I'd definitely go with the Eventide Blackhole, it's specifically made for Reverb, Delay and other various modulations
13. I listened to it again and it's true, the Light Through The Veins version is the same as the album except it has a beautiful piano added to it at the end. The other tracks are just mesmerizing, it's unbelievable. I wonder if those snippets are the demos (from sessions) for what eventually became Mylo Xyloto songs, or if these were made specifically for the DVD.
14. Audio snippets from Live 2012? Couldn't find an official 'Live 2012' thread so I thought I'd tried my luck here :) Between the actual song there are 4 documentary pieces featuring each member of the band. In the background they are playing electronic/instrumental/demo version of 'Hurts Like Heaven', 'Don't Let it Break Your Heart', 'Up With the Birds', 'Light Through The Veins' and 'Charlie Brown'. Now, I would pay money to get my hands on those snippets. Anyone have even the slightest idea on how to get them?
15. It's basically just octaves - the one he starts with are D#/Eb and then just moves his way up. Octaves in both hands!
16. Just got this book off of Amazon and it's quite exciting to see behind the scenes from a roadie's perspective. Especially since I play guitar and have been for almost a decade. Even though we think of it as something glamorous, it is often much less than that. I have to be honest and say I didn't expect this much alcohol to be involved in the whole story :D Maybe from a band like Metallica but not CP. Also, it is kind of tough to read if you're not acquainted with British slang and humor :laugh3: All in all, very cool!
17. Check your private message!
18. Are you talking the acoustic version or album version? Jonny plays different things on both versions so you need to give us more detail.
19. Jonny has used the Fender Telecaster Thinline for years now. Every now and then he throws in a Strat (Paradise) and Les Paul (Violet Hill), but 95% of the time it's the Telecaster Thinline '72 reissue. Here is the actual guitar: http://bit.ly/f2X9ek Not that expensive either!
20. Hi everyone, I'm looking for 2-3 tickets for the show in San Jose, CA either the 27th or 28th of April. email is [email protected] Thanks!
21. He also came up with the synth at the beginning of Violet Hill. Light Through the Veins was the only actual song that they sampled from Jon Hopkins, but the other parts were made specifically for Viva La Vida.
22. I actually read somewhere that Jon came up with the synth for ETIAW, not the chords played but the actual sound. I'm 100% sure he was involved on the record but what I'm curious is what parts he molded so to speak?
23. Meaning - what parts or segments did he write/play/record and so on? Thanks CPers!
24. This is f*cked up! I went to buy tickets for my brother and I, but those idiotic scalpers have already gotten their hands on everything possible. Within the first hour that they were on sale I was on Ticketmaster but no luck, and I'm not gonna pay more than $150 for a ticket because that is just ridiculous. They really need to do something about this because every show it's the same thing. Require to put the name on the ticket so people can't resell them for a profit. What's the point of having Ticketmaster when you're gonna end up paying somebody more than what the actual price is?
25. Evo dragi moji cijeli dan slusam album ali sam razocaran. Preproduciran i bez svjezih ideja. DLIBYH je dobra i Hurts Like Heaven - ostalo meh. Sta drugi misle?
