  1. I'm not too original, so I'm gonna go with KEVJUMBA and the NERDFIGHTERS, aka Brotherhood 2.0. edit; BAHAHHAH, I didn't even see the Julian Smith post! I love him as well. Hot KoolAid is fantastic. "I MADE THIS BECAUSE LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!"
  2. DUDE OKAY BEAR LIZZYBEAR PEDOBEAR WHAT IS IT WITH BEARS AND BEING SO GREAT?! and do you remember this little thing I made way back when?
  3. pedobear will be GUTTED. :stunned:
  4. daaaaaaaaaaw!
  5. Some Are Lakes is such a fantastic song.
  6. Whenever I end a playlist or whatever for anyone, I feel the need to use Chopin.
  7. Yeah, sorry about that. It took me a long time to get it uploaded. :\ But yes, I'm Darcy, and I made your tape. I tried to make it a mix of classics and things you didn't know, so hopefully I did okay. I didn't know you'd be looking up each song! But yes, you are correct, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Beirut has been one of my favorite bands recently, as evidenced by my picture.. I'm glad you enjoyed it! This songs was "Seashell" by Searbear, an Icelandic band. Heheheheh. People either love or hate this one. I always take the word mixtape rather literally and try to put a lot of variety on. Sorry that this didn't appeal to you. :( Correct again, and one of my favorites from Elbow. I'm glad you enjoyed this one, I think it's quite an underrated track off of her album. :wink2: Ah, I am surprised with the ones you couldn't find! This one was "We Are What You Say" but the wonderful Sufjan Stevens. A really fantastic song, one of my favorites on the mix. Beach House is another one of those ones you love or hate. :embarrassed: This was "Frank, AB" by The Rural Alberta Exchange, a Canadian indie band. Sorry! :nice: Definitely my favorite Dylan track, without a doubt. Aw, I'm really glad you liked the track, but it was actually NOT Brazilian and NOT Cansei de Ser Sexy. It was "Knife" by Grizzly Bear. Yes, this was indeed Jolene, originally done by Dolly Parton. The White Stripes version kinda owns her version, IMO. This was also done live. :nice: Love this track off of the fantastic album "Hold On Now," Youngster. This was "Kettering" by the Antlers. The build up is quite lovely, don't you think? This was Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor, composed by Chopin. I'm not sure who the pianist on this specific recording was. So anyway, I'm sorry if all of my tape didn't appeal to you. :\ But I do hope you found some songs to listen to again. I really do apologize for getting it to you late. Playlist: 1. "Nantes," Beruit (The Flying Cup Club) 2. "Seashell," Seabear (The Ghost That Carried Us Away) 3. "Start Wearing Purple," Gogol Bordello (Gypsy Punks) 4. "Don't Mix Your Drinks," Elbow (Asleep In The Back) 5. "Cosmic Love," Florence + the Machine (Lungs) 6. "Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want," The Smiths (Hatful of Hollow) 7. "We Are What You Say," Sufan Stevens (A Sun Came) 8. "Better Times," Beach House (Teen Dream) 9. "Tigerlily," La Roux (S/T) 10. "Frank, AB," The Rural Alberta Exchange (Hometowns) 11. "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," Bob Dylan (Freewheelin') 12. "Knife," Grizzly Bear (Yellow House) 13. "Jolene," cover of Dolly Parton by The White Stripes (Under Great White Northern Lights) 14. "Elenore," The Turtles (The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands) 15. "You! Me! Dancing!," Los Campesinos! (Hold On Now, Youngster) 16. "Kettering," The Antlers (Hospice) 17. "Nocture in C-Sharp Minor," Chopin. DOWNLOAD LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/407361790/mixtape.rar
  8. and also, it's so odd I didn't like the track with Gossip's singer on it, because I really enjoy some of their songs.
  9. you definitely did NOT bore me too much! :nice: I can't stop listening to some of the tracks, thanks again, really. it's so awesome you added some Janis on there for me.
  10. 1. Completely beautiful opening track. Really getting me excited for the rest of the mixtape. Gorgeous horns, strings, choir, electronics.. I feel like I've heard it before somewhere, maybe in a movie? 2. My excitement for the tape continues. The transition from the last track to this was great. Very lovely electronic song with a nice voice. It's awesome getting music I wouldn't normally listen to on my own, but love nonetheless. 3. More of a "band" sound now. Good bass, nice voice. The cohesiveness of the tape continues. <3 4. Mm, I feel like I've heard this song before.. or at least the vocalist. Pretty good lyrics and mood. DON'T NEED YOU TELLING ME HOWWWW. 5. Female vocalist, woo! Although, this is probably my least faborite so far.. But I still really enjoy the track. 6. Wow awesome beginning, haha. 80's? I think yes? I giggled. I think the synthesizers are a biiit too much for me. 7. More sythesizers! Eeeehh, not really my type of song at all. A little to electronic, and I didn't really enjoy the singer. 8. Still pretty electronic, but I like this one better. "Make the beats go harder" part is good. 9. Ooooh, like. Vocalist is awesome. Is that a bari sax in the background? Bahahha, weird song. I like it a lot! What language is that at one point? 10. Piano beginning. Then into greatness.. with more saxaphones, haha. Love this guys voice. I am surprised with how few people I recognize on the tape.. I love it, haha. And what language is THIS? Falsetto is brilliant. 11. Mm, acoustic guitar. Tracks 6 and 7 kinda brough me down, but the whole tape definitely picked back up again. This song is pretty brilliant. Love the acoustic/electric swithes, and the background voices. 12. Cool strings, familar vocalist, interesting lyrics. Really lovely track. 13. Mm, pretty sounding beginning. Not so sure about the lyrics, but they work with the female singer. The build up is quite nice, really cool song. Not something I'd usually enjoy. 14. Part one, it says. Something I WOULD listen to, hahaha. Liking the quick build up and harp. Reminds me of Florence Welch tracks. 14. Part two. IS THIS A FLORENCE WELCH TRACK? Hahahhaa, it is, the voice is unmistakable.. But I've never heard it! I feel pretty cool having called it with the harps. Dancing a little, fantastic song. 15. Okay voice, but the violins and acoutics drew me in. Where have I heard this before?? Like the end a lot. A lot a lot. 16. Last track, and awesome so far. Swingy beat, older sounding.. is this Janis? MY LOVE? JANIS? I think my mixtaper just sealed the deal on me really enjoying the tape. Thank you so much, it was obvious you really tried to make a good tape.. and you succeeded! If I had one complaint, it was that it was a bit dull for a few tracks, but it picked up again right away. :nice:
  11. Au Revoir Les Enfants. 9.5/10.
