  1. Absolutely agree with you, muzika, there's just no way for me to get bored of Gary. The rest of the band may sometimes be annoyed by it but I love that Gary can't shut up at all. Never. :D
  2. You're welcome. :nice: Don't ask me why they are insane enough to play two concerts in one night, but oh well ... Coldplay was amazing at the War Child gig after the Brits (it was the Brits, right?), so I have no doubt Tired Pony will be as enthusiastic as they were. Anna, I can neither go to London nor to the Tired Pony concert(s), so I feel with you. But as much as I know, the band hopes to do a little tour, so we'll may catch up with them sometime this year. Although we might not get to see Tom Smith performing with them which might happen at these two first gigs. :\
  3. Wonderfull avatars, Giulia! :cheesy: And thanks for the gif's, Thalia! :nice: I was just browsing the internet for new textures for a bigger project I have plans for and found a really great site. I just fell in love with all these vintage textures. They even have an ad and I was not really suprised to have that song backing the ad ... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EYbyw8Q_UY&feature=player_embedded]YouTube- Mellowmint[/ame] Here's the deviantart page, too: http://mellowmint.deviantart.com/
  4. Alright, here I am with some news, in case some of you missed (some of) them. :) First of all: There'll be a second Tired Pony concert! It'll be on the same day, 14th July, same location. The second gig is set to start at around 11 p.m., so right after the first has ended (there's probably a break of an hour for the first audience to leave and the second to get in). I don't know if there are still tickets available since it's a quite small venue. The tracklisting of The Place We Ran From (out 12th July 2010) 1. Northwestern Skies 2. Get On The Road 3. Point Me To Lost Lands 4. Dead American Writers 5. Held In The Arms Of Your Words 6. That Silver Necklace 7. I Am The Landslide 8. The Deepest Ocean There Is 9. The Good Book 10. Pieces Source: [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Place-We-Ran-Tired-Pony/dp/B003LY40OY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1274969413&sr=1-1]Amazon.co.uk[/ame] According to Amazon.co.uk, the first single could be track no. 4, Dead American Writers. Although Amazon says the 10'' vinyl of Dead American Writers is currently unavailable, so you can't pre-order it like the album, I can imagine it to be the first single. From what I know the very first single is to be released on 14th July, same day like the album. Here's the link to the 10'' vinyl of Dead American Writers by Tired Pony on [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-American-Writers-10-VINYL/dp/B003NVP09E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1274969413&sr=1-3]Amazon.co.uk[/ame] There's no official announcement of what the first single will be, yet. But we already have one song from the album, I Am The Landslide. Here's the live version of it performed by Iain Archer and two non-Tired Pony members: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwQkIK4NxjE&feature=related]YouTube- Iain Archer at Club Monkey IV - Landslide by Tired Pony[/ame] A private concert in one's living room, not bad, I'd say ... Last winter, Gary already played a song he wrote for Tired Pony on the radio in Portland. I don't know why but someone on the internet came up with the titel I Finally Love This Town (Gary certainly didn't call it like that when he played it and I can't remember having heard that title from the official site). From what I've heard in the preview video, the song didn't make it on the album. But maybe we haven't got an impression on every song. If anyone's interested ...
  5. I knew you'd post that! I also suggest Snow Patrol: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qeXk4GnHVA]YouTube- Snow Patrol - Favourite Friend[/ame] The music might not be everyone's cup of tea but the lyrics pretty much fit your intention, I think. :nice:
  6. Mary-licious? So, my dear Miss, now you can not tell me anymore that you are not creative! :sneaky: I  randomness. But Gary has invented a new dimension of randomness.
  7. The photo is more than cute. There should be a new word for that. Nathan-licious but that'd sound too ... well, not cute. Cutielicious? Oh well, I better stick with the ordinary 'cute' then. Cuuuuuuuuuuute! And Nathan's smirk looks different than on most of the photos he gets taken after shows. Usually he has that dead-sexy (did I just say that?! :o) smile on. Here he's taken away by the cuteness of the situation. :nice: @ Elena Phew, I just forgott whom I was talking about. 'I wreck my brains but it won't come'
  8. Thanks for the photos, Sarah! Love the black and white one. :nice: He smiled so much that night. :wacky: And there's sonemone obviously loving the shot of Gary and Nathan. And not only for the green light. :D
  9. To all who would have liked to be at Friday's concert: You'd have needed to pray to be faaaar away from Elena and me. I really wonder we didn't freak the hell out of some people. To Elena, here again, your photographs are just stunning. If it would be possible, I would love you even more now. :nice:
  10. :laugh4: :laugh4: :laugh4: He'd love you forever for saying that! Well, I have nothing to add, but my mind is spinning having read my own name that often. :rolleyes3: We had an amazing night, sure one of the best in my entire life. Thanks to Elena for being so incredibly awesome! Next time we'll conquer the front row and get whatever song we ask for, I promise, Elena! It was also really nice to meet Sarah and Elena's friend. Oh dear, I get so excited thinking about that night. Now I need to stare at the photographs a bit more. :escaping: :D
  11. It's not a test nor a trick of the mind, only LOVE
  12. Don't ask me what song I definitely like more on record than being played live. It's not Chasing Cars but a song Gary has his difficulties with. At least in my opinion, but oh well, what do I know? That story of the other band made me shiver - in a negative way. How can they be so cruel to their fans? I see why not every band has the time and the will to care as much about their fans as Snow Patrol do but what happened to this fan has something to do with respect. If they take the time to sign it, then they certainly have the time to give it a proper look. If they don't want to do so, then they better f*** off and just leave instead of hurting a fan's feelings.
  13. Oh, I totally forgot to add Set Fire To The Third Bar to the setlist. :shame: Gary sang it alone but it was still so beautiful.
  14. Gary was the first one to come out, as usual. Then he went in again to get his stuff. Nathan came out and as he talked to the fans, Gary went into the bus. But some fans asked him to come out again and chatted a bit in private with him (looked quite nice from the distance for they were only three fans and Gary behind the bus talking). Pablo and Jonny came out almost simultaneously and Tom had disappeared. I suppose he got to the bus way before the others (he didn't leave after Jonny and Pablo, Elena and me saw their tour bus leaving and we didn't meet or even see Tom).
  15. Yes, Elena, her friend and me waited, too. Aw, it's great that she got to meet Gary after the concert as well, it was so insanly sweet from him how he kept her sign and read it out. There MUST be a video out there. But Germans seem to be slow on uploading their stuff - I haven't found more than three videos yet. No photos. Is that even possible? :o
  16. Elena is going to see them in Amsterdam on 31st May. :cheesy: It was a great concert und about the 'incredible things' ... maybe she meant the point when Gary suggested continuing the concert acapella because they had some technical problems (Gary's mircophone(s) didn't work at some points, his guitar didn't work). And they played Make This Go On Forever for a fan who asked for it with a sign. Gary was so sweet reading out the sign and keeping it so that they could play the song later on. Gary also dedicated You Could Be Happy to a security man who didn't move the slightest when Gary sang to him and thouched his shoulder and all. Elena will give you I proper review, I suppose, she's trained in that. I'm definitely not so I don't try. ;) Setlist ... uhm, do you want to have the right order? They had a super new intro, techno-ish. With lasers and stuff. No band on stage though. They opened with Open Your Eyes (how appropriated ;)). I really can't remember the order but the set included Chocolate, Spitting Games, You Could Be Happy, Hands Open, Run, Shut Your Eyes, Just Say Yes, Chasing Cars, Crack The Shutters, If There's A Rocket Tie Me To It, Take Back The City and The Golden Floor. As an encor they played the whole The Lightning Strike and You're All I Have. Plus the song for the fans, Make This Go On Forever. I hope I didn't forget anything. :uhoh: Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a setlist.
  17. Berlin: Pure awesomeness! :dead: Now I go to sleep ...
  18. Thanks. I try to do my very best seeing that the Lightbody Lovers Group's nearly dead.
  19. I won't be able to go as well, I still have school then. :\ But Grey's Anatomy's on on Wednesdays here in Germany, there I'll have my Snow Patrol / Gary Lightbody connection then. :dozey:
  20. Sorry for the double post ...
  21. Well, I can see why you thought of Chasing Cars but to me it doesn't sound too similar. Actually the tune of Chasing Cars is pretty simple so it's most likely to appear in other songs. In this one it's slowlier and there are not just two notes or am I deaf?
  22. There'll be a concert of Tired Pony on 14th July in London. Tickets go on sale this weekend (21st May). Further information on tiredpony.com This is from an e-mail mailing list members got, so there's no information on Tired Pony's website yet but I guess it will we up tomorrow though.
  23. Nooooo! :embarrassed:
  24. 'Friends of the night' (= Freunde der Nacht) should keep hiding in the darkness. In some very remoted part of the world. Serisouly, why would they load such a thing up? Don't they know that it's not even a cover? Oh dear ...
  25. I'd say yes, but I'm biased. :D
