A Head Full of Dreams Film - In Cinemas Nov.14
I just finished watching the film and I am finally to a point where I don't have tears in my eyes. I consider myself on a scale of one to ten a solid eight fan of Coldplay, but learned so much I never knew! The humble beginnings were really great. It gave me a sense of pride knowing I love this band. I'll gladly take flak for being a fan. Will Champion has always been my favorite member of the band. This film solidified the why in very emotional terms. The death of his mother and subsequent dedication of Parachutes to her. His departure from the band (which I had no idea that happened) The note the other members wrote to him taped to the stage. I cried. My only issue and maybe it was on purpose... There was ZERO mention of Clocks. No, this is how we came up with the song. No mention of how big that song became. None. It is my favorite song. Any genre. Any artist. Ever. That was the song that hooked me to the band. *sigh* I can forgive that. I love these guys! No matter what. They'll be the only musical act to give a me who, what, when, why & how to every song. Please watch it and leave in love with them all over again!

2013 shows- where are Coldplay playing next year?
Yes. I totally agree! I would fall out from shock if Coldplay ever played Jacksonville! I couldn't imagine my favorite band playing in my hometown! However, if it isn't country music or Southern rock, Jacksonville isn't interested. At least Tampa and Orlando aren't terribly far.

[28-Jun-2012] Coldplay @ St Pete Times Forum, Tampa, Florida, USA
Just under 24 hours after the show. I am STILL on a high! Watching some of the videos I took! I really saw Coldplay for the 3rd time in my life! It was a very different experience. The first time was in 2008 @ BankAtlantic Center and I spent over $200 for seats on the floor. Last year, I saw them @ ACL Festival on Friday night...amongst the ENTIRE WORLD it felt. Last night was different being so far away. While the opening acts did their thing, I lamented the fact I wasn't down there in the mix, so to speak. Been through some trying times recently, and I needed to see this show for my soul... All of that changed once 99 Problems came on. I immediately realized, "I'm about to see my favorite band! Doesn't matter, you are here!" I thought I was Jay-Z for a minute because I went verse for verse, word for word because I knew the boys were coming! And now the show... "Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven": THE XYLOBANDS WERE AMAZING! I was taking video once "Back to the Future" was playing. However, I became an amateur once "Mylo Xyloto" started and the bands lit up. I was shaking so bad! I was overcome with how beautiful it all was! "Hurts Like Heaven" is so sneaky good. It brings a smile to my face. "In My Place": Chris with his vocals and Jonny on the guitar. That song oozes perfection through pleas of self-awareness and a heart to make things right. One of their best songs live. Period. "Major Minus": The first time I heard it live, at ACL last, I feel immediately in love. Still hasn't changed. I know those seated around me were annoyed with my shrieking during this tune! "Lovers In Japan": One my favorites from the Viva la Vida Tour. Chris improvises this one and the "dreaming in the Tampa Bay sun." To me, this is the original confetti song due to the VLV Tour. "The Scientist": No dry eyes. "Yellow": To me, this is the song that brought Coldplay to the U.S. It was their staple song for so long. Now, it is a throw in track at the beginning. I still kinda miss it being a closing song. Yet, it is a classic! "Violet Hill": The most played song on my iTunes. I love this song! I danced and jumped and screamed! Hearing that guitar solo live is unreal! "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face": I call this "a kick in the seat of your pants in your ears" good! They did it similar at ACL, but it seemed to boom in that arena! It was the 2nd best part of the night to me! "Princess of China": The Coldplay song you are most likely to hate, whether you love the boys or loathe them. This song has grown on me. I love it. I had read previous complaints of the sync with Rihanna's recorded version live. Flowed VERY well. Sang like a giddy teenager! "Up In Flames/Warning Sign": This is my only real issue from the show. It seemed like the brakes were slammed instead up applied. I love both songs, no questions asked. However, I was a bit dismayed seeing people sit and the mood just go flat. "A Hopeful Tranmission/Don't Let It Break Your Heart": Felt a bit along the slow vein, but it seemed like the boys kicked up the singing and dancing. "Viva la Vida": Warning: this is complete lunacy to most who read this. This might be their best song live. You can't match the enthusiasm this song brings. All 3 Coldplay shows I've seen, this song is the highlight! Section 328 and our neighbors erupted once this was on. "Charlie Brown": Warning: a hater's post. First time hearing this at ACL, and when Chris told the fans to jump, I was not a fan of this song. Also, I didn't know the words then as well. That, of course, was pre-Xyloband. Thanks to ESPN's Euro 2012 and Xyloband, this is song I cannot live without. It's all in the melody. The boys love performing this! This is Viva la Vida, part 2. "Paradise": If you happened to read my post about this song, you'll know I listened to this song 12 straight times the first time I heard it. I love this song. I loved it live! I cry hearing it. It is a magical song. "Us Against the World/Speed of Sound": The boys hit the alternate stage and caused hysteria from what I could see with these two selections. My friends were down there amongst that crowd. Safe to say I was a tad jealous. Chris saying I (flubbed) up during UATW was my laugh of the night. Speed of Sound was stripped down and gorgeous. "Clocks": The greatest song ever made. My favorite song. My highlight of the night. Probably cried more than I sang. That is the norm with this song. Chris and that piano riff will live on for generations. "Fix You": You got the feeling Chris was singing to us all personally as if we had to find our way through the storms of life. Chris did this well and brought the energy. "MMIX/Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall": This is how you close a show! Unreal! With the death of my camera battery and cell phone, I just cut loose and sang as loud as possible! It was a refreshing feeling. To close, I have seen Coldplay at better angles and with more pricey tickets. However, I think it was a night they boys caught my heart at a different angle. An angle of hope and belief that the tough times in life don't last always. Maybe that lull wasn't a bad thing; it could have been a chance to take it all in. I had to say I was glad to be a part of it! Chris said, "We have the best fans in the world" at one point. You know, he's right! We are great fans! I am honored and proud to be one of them! Last, but not least! How 'bout the Tampa Curse FINALLY BEING LIFTED!!!!

[16-Sept-2011] Coldplay @ Austin City Limits Festival, Zilker Park, Austin, Texas
Austin City Limits Festival itself was a madhouse! First time ever being at such a festival of that size. To get a decent view of Coldplay, it basically served you well to stay at that stage all day. In any event, I took a friend along with me. She even commented it was good to see a band interact and give so much of their passion performing for the crowd. She enjoyed it, and she's not even a Coldplay zealot like myself. Chris even got points for his jabs at Kanye West during his set. Still don't know why they put Kanye up against Coldplay. Confused. The best one was during "Everything's Not Lost" when he said something like, "she wants to see Coldplay, and the boys want to see Kanye." Hilarious! I cried during the encore. They set it up perfect for me. The "last" song was "Paradise." After that, was the encore of "Clocks" and "Fix You." How much of a rollercoaster is that people?! And much respect to Chris for singing Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" chorus before "Fix You." I thought that was very touching. That's twice in my life to see Coldplay! Can't wait to see them again!

SERIOUS OPINIONS
To show to you, the fellow posters, my bias... I listened to the song 16 times yesterday. There was a feeling I had while listening to the song: wow! Words cannot express how much I love this song! "Paradise" reminds me of "42," "Clocks," "Viva la Vida," and "The Hardest Part." I'm a bit surprised none of the YouTube comments and the critics/fans don't point this out. In my humble opinion, you can clearly hear elements of those 4 songs. The last time Coldplay had me in total euphoria was the first time I heard "Violet Hill." I don't understand the disdain for the song, especially among the fans of Coldplay. We all have our right to an opinion. Some opinions are hilarious; some opinions make you sit back and ponder. Music is supposed to stir the emotions and allow the mind and heart to be captivated. "Paradise" succeeded at this mission. At the end of the day, music is music. Good music stands the test of time. "Paradise" has the feel and sound to do so.

How Many Times Have You Listened to Violet Hill?
At least 150 times! I received the album a week before its release (June 4, 2008). I listened to "Violet Hill" 6 times in a row on my iPod before I FINALLY decided to listen to Strawberry Swing! The first time I heard it, I fell in love! From that date until today, my iTunes count is 107, good for #6 in the Most Played List! Counting the video I downloaded to my iPod, I've seen the video 43 times! So, 150 times would be the count. It'll probably go up in the next week or so! What am I saying, it will!

I think Violet Hill might be my favorite VLV song
In Total Agreement Hands down, my favorite song on the album!

What Do You Think?
Lost! to Lost+ = Perfection either way First of all, I am a major fan of Jay-Z! He is arguably my favorite rapper. He has transcended the genre, and has been an icon in my humble opinion. If you heard Kingdom Come from Jay-Z, the last song "Beach Chair" with Chris was spectacular! Having Jay-Z return the favor for Lost+ is yet another high-quality collaboration! I love the song!

Hello fellow Coldplay fans!
I go by Malleywood here in the cyber universe! Over the past 6 years, I have been a Coldplay fan! Once they hit here in the U.S., I was somewhat of a fan. A Rush of Blood To The Head changed my life. "Clocks" made me an eternal fan! Not to mention their Grammy win was a defining moment for me. X&Y was one of the most anticipated albums of my life! Then, Viva La Vida and Death to All of His Friends changed the way I listen to music! At least once a week, I listen to all of their albums! I FINALLY saw them live @ BankAtlantic Center November 9, 2008! It was honestly the greatest night of my life! I look forward to interacting with fellow fans, and sharing the love!
