That's true, but it isn't JUST the lyrics that make the song. The instrumentals on Viva are just poppy-sounding in my opinion. It isn't like it makes it a bad album or anything, I just personally prefer the older Coldplay. also, yeah, I have heard X&Y. It's a great album. I don't care that others say it's overproduced. Although it is way too long.

It is, sort of, I think. It's far more "poppy" than any of their earlier work. I don't dislike it or anything, but some of the songs just sound... poppish to me. Like Lovers In Japan. EXACTLY what I meant. Well put!

Eww. I don't like e-books. I keep losing my place. It's like a gigantic jumble of text. With a book you can use a bookmark and stuff, but with e-books, you can't.

I kinda agree. But Viva La Vida (the song) -- you have to admit that's pretty mainstream. I mean, it isn't bad, but it is mainstream. I prefer older Coldplay stuff (b-sides especially for some reason.) I think they had a lot of great ballads/love songs, but then after years of only making basically only ballads and love songs, I think the ideas sort of dried up and they had to make a poppy album like Viva La Vida.

Then... go do some other fun thing. Read a book. Smell the roses. Et cetera.
