  1. Yeah, the PIT is not that big, but that also means if it's to capacity, it'll be hot and crowded. The Dallas PIT was pretty large, but not completely full, so you could roam around and the far edges were almost completely devoid of people meaning you could go right up to the catwalks and rails where they leave for the B and C stages - it was great! It was also a place to cool down. It was soooo hot in the center of the PIT with all that body heat, etc. I got to the venue around 8pm and the PIT wasn't that full at all. It was about 6 rows deep of people in the center. It's better to hang out at the back and try to move to the sides to get close-up pics! I'm 8th row center this show, and honestly glad to have a seat. The PIT is so exhausting I don't think I could ever do two in a row! There are two opening acts - although I forget their names...
  2. Hey all! Dallas was fantastic! I almost got a high-five from Will when he was returning from the B-Stage, but he ended up just waving instead - it was still pretty cool! It was just nice to get recognition for my efforts, ha! I was free to roam around the PIT so got different angles of pics. I got a few good Will pics and vids, so I'll post them when I get home and have a better internet connection. The security guard told me to stop filming at one point, so I had to do short clips incognito :sneaky: Oh, I think I have Will drumming in LITii, I'll have to check! Now I'm heading back to Houston for tonight's show
  3. I know, I was really surprised! I'm wondering if it will happen tonight too... The funny part was that he just stopped playing it and said something like "right, that's enough of that song!" and then went into 'Postcards From Far Away' Then of course, Viva started and he ran right past me on the railing :smug: I'll have to post the vid of it tomorrow, along with some others, once I can get home and finally have a decent internet connection that will actually upload video :dozey:
  4. I think I remember you then, ha! You should have said hello :) Yeah, I was moving all over the PIT during the show - I loved that you could do that! @ Angie, I soooo wished I could have gotten the 'mad man' face he did on camera, ha. He kept doing it but I kept missing it :(
  5. I was taking video the whole show, but during GPASUYF, a security guard came up and told me to stop taping. So, from then on I just was sneaky and either held the camera low or made it look like I was taking a picture! :sneaky: So you can take video, it just depends on where you are. I had no problem until I was in that rather empty section of the PIT next to the railing where they run (since most of them didn't know they would go over there I guess).
  6. And some more! :) I think that's it for tonight, I need to go to bed, ha
  7. Here's the one of Chris on the catwalk when he saw me taking a picture and made a funny face ;) Here's Angie and myself :) Although it's blurry...grrr And, this is when Chris got the cowboy hat out of the PIT and put it on Guy's head! :cowboy:
  8. OK, here are a couple of the best ones! I got quite a few blurry ones, but I'll post more tomorrow and hopefully get some of those videos uploaded too. I think this time I have more video than pics! :)
  9. Aww, you were lucky then. This one security guard came up to me when I was filming GPASUYF on the b-stage and told me to stop filming :( Then I was kind of scared to do it again, lol, so I moved around the PIT where he couldn't see and filmed some little bits, but was too scared to film a bunch, ha! But I got some crazy close up video of the guys coming off the stage. I forget Kelly was right next to me too and told me to move back even though I was literally one of maybe three people on the railing, lol!
  10. Hey guys!!! Just got back to the hotel after hellish traffic... W O W! This was THE best show I've been too hands down! I got to meet Angie finally, ha! She wasn't hard to find in her cape :P The PIT was incredible! It was large but you were free to move around all over it so I was able to be right next to the little catwalks, right next to the rail when they ran to the B-Stage (which was weird since I was literally the ONLY person on the rail and felt kind of stupid! HA! But I got some GREAT video. I almost got a high five from Will, but he just waved instead :( Oh well I was happy for the wave! Also, at one point on the catwalk, Chris looked right at me and pulled a funny face when I was taking a picture - of course it came out blurry because that man cannot keep still but it was great! I think he probably thought it was funny there was only a few people on that end, ha!! But at least both Will and Chris saw me, so that was really great! They CHANGED THE SETLIST and played TROUBLE!!!! It was sooooo great. Unfortunately, the stupid security guard stopped me from recording video once they got to the B-Stage... one of the problems of being in the fairly empty side of the PIT. I did get some video of trouble though - I acted like I was taking a picture :D Chris also threw a bunch of glo-sticks into the audience, I didn't get one unfortunately, but got video of it! I also wasn't able to get a set list. I ALMOST DID, but I let the girl next to me get it since she had already been there asking for it. SO CLOSE THOUGH. I tried to get another, but security ushered me away... the guy said "If he can't get it to you by the time you walk to that gate, tough luck" UGH  I got some REALLY great pics and vids that I'll mostly post tomorrow. I can probably get a few pics up here tonight, but the PIT is exhausting!! It was great I finally got to meet another Coldplayer though. I got a pic with Angie and will post it, even though it's kind of blurry!!! Oh, I almost forgot, someone in the pit gave Chris a cowboy hat for Guy to wear, and he put it on Guy as they walked off, it was really funny. I got some pics of it :) Ok, well I'll add a pic or two in a bit :)
  11. Ok at the hotel in Dallas, going to head out to the venue in about 20 mins or so. That drive from Houston is just vile, ugh... At least it's actually not so hot outside, which is nice! I'll have to look for Angie too, ha, that is TOO funny! Don't worry lfdianne, I'll try and get some Will pics for all the Willuvers! ;)
  12. Hey all!! I'm heading off to Dallas in a few minutes. Wow, Angie you left early! Ha! I just got off work (could only take a half day vac. today). Oh well, I'm not planning on getting to the venue until 8ish since I'm going to see the opening acts tomorrow and I want to be at the back of the PIT. I just hope it's not HUGE! Well, hopefully I'll see some of you there. I'll be in a white paint-splattery t-shirt with jeans ;) I'll prob get back on here when I get to my hotel in Dallas since I won't be leaving for the venue from there till around 7 or so... ARRRGH I can't believe it's today!!
  13. Crap, did I miss the leaks of some more demos?! Arrggh, I'm getting ready for the concerts today and tomorrow. Can someone PM me, lol
  14. Yeah, I was thinking maybe of doing it... It just depends. They have a free day on BOTH sides of the TX shows, so I'm hoping they won't do a runner!
  15. I can't believe it's tomorrow!! Forecast so far is 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms (BOO!!!) and 87 degrees (YAY!!!) Plus it IS raining up there currently, so the lawn is probably going to be soggy... Oh, I just checked Ticketmaster, and they released some more PIT and lower reserved seating... I really hope the PIT is not ginormous.
  16. YAY! Only a few more days, and looks like it will be a few degrees cooler... although I hope it doesn't rain :uhoh: COLDPLAY • When: • 8 p.m. Wednesday • Where: Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins • Tickets: Sold out () Coldplay Rolls Into Town With A Grammy, Praise From Paul McCartney Chris Martin is an extraordinarily talented and affable chap. Just don't ask the singer how Coldplay became the biggest band in the world. “It makes my brain melt,” said Martin, who added that he really doesn't agree with the premise. Not to mention that a recent Bruce Springsteen concert blew him away and reminded him that pecking order is irrelevant. “It really doesn't matter who's biggest today.” OK, so maybe the Grammy-winning band didn't start out wanting to rule the world, but how does one handle it when it happens? “I have a hard time believing it,” Martin said. “Maybe it's because I'm British or because I'm too religious. I feel lucky.” But Martin's reasoning about why it happened is quite astute: “When Radiohead went less commercial.” Coldplay, which makes a stop in The Woodlands on Wednesday, is known for epic-sounding albums and big hits Yellow, Clocks, The Hardest Part and Viva La Vida, as well as for Martin's marriage to Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow. There was also that blip last year when rock guitarist Joe Satriani sued the band for copyright infringement, claiming that Viva La Vida was too close to his 2004 song If I Could Fly. Coldplay has denied the charge. But Brian Eno's work on Viva La Vidaor Death and All His Friends — the Grammy's reigning album of the year — elevated an already award-winning band, which also includes guitarist Jon Buckland, drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman. “It's like going back to school and tearing up all the rules,” Martin said. “He guides you down the path. He doesn't care about Yellow.” Martin acknowledged Eno's ways took some getting used to. “He doesn't treat you like you're famous,” he said. On record, Coldplay is all about Martin's angelic voice, which he says he's kept in shape for the last 10 years with the help of “a funny lady in England named Mary.” But onstage, the band brings “a spectacle,” he says, that depends on a huge crew. “What worries me is that I don't know how to plug anything in anymore,” Martin says. “I'm powerless.” But he'll take the entourage over the old days. “I can play piano at home any time,” he said. One thing you can't do at home is getting to hang around with Jay-Z and Paul McCartney. “Jay-Z is one of my musical heroes. He's a personal hero the way he conducts himself,” said Martin. About their musical association: “It's part of my education.” McCartney is another kettle of fish. The two crossed paths at the Grammy Awards, where Coldplay performed in colorful outfits reminiscent of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper-era uniforms. “He's almost a saintly figure in England,” Martin said. “It's hard to not think of him as a mythical figure.” He joked that Sir Paul is a little stingy when doling out praise. “He'll give you a nod and doesn't leave,” Martin said. “He called us a ‘good little band.' ” Hey, isn't that how McCartney describes the Beatles? “Yeah, I know,” he said. The PIT is ginormous too!
  19. From Twitter: Filling up nicely. 90 minutes 'til lift-off. R#42. http://twitpic.com/aupjt
  20. Yellow was the first song I heard and I liked them then, but Clocks was the song that made me become a superfan ;)
  21. Was the hiccup before the video began... I noticed Chris was laughing right when it starts which made me think he had just messed up? But I'm sure some of that is true, and good on him for making the other band members more visible ;)
  22. Probably really early. I've heard people getting there at noon and there are STILL 10 or so people already lined up :stunned: For Dallas, I'm just going late, after the opening acts. It's just too hot. I don't need to be right up against the stage - plus too much body heat, ha. I'm planning on hanging out at the back in one corner, ha. But if you are aiming for the front, be prepared to line up and wait in the sun!
  23. I know, it made me worried they were onsale forever - either the PIT is going to be huge or maybe people just don't know they were available since if you search for best available, it's sold out :inquisitive: My ticket says '348' so who knows... Anyway, they are all gone now other than 3rd party sites.
  24. The official release will be since it's supposed to be a digital download, and it said in the latest 'Messenger' that it would be available in iTunes worldwide. This is just a promo CD for Dj's etc. I don't believe 'Strawberry Swing' will get a physical CD release, just like 'Life in Technicolor ii'. If you want a CD, you'll have to get the promo CD. They might do a 7"?
