Whaaaaat? :inquisitive: I'm sorry, but as an avid listener of both, I can't see how in the world you could come to that comparison. They're both so vastly different. B4L's vocals are much more ethereal, while Flo's are about sheer power. Flo's are more apt to sound slightly pitchy, too.

OK. He probably won't mind if I do this, so I'm going to review Bryce's tape here as I listen to it. Bryce, I'm also going to listen to the extras. Here we go. 1. "You"-Gold Panda Interesting beginning. This is a hugely electronic track, and it experiments with a variation of noises. That fast bit was pretty cool. As I'm halfway through the track now, I'm going to assume that there's not going to be any singing with this. I kinda expected them to show up when the song started, but I suppose it's OK they aren't there. It felt like there was something missing, but it was a good track. It's an interesting way to open. I might look more into this. 2. "Springboarder"-Parades This is more low-key than the previous track; it's electronic as well, but it's not nearly as upbeat. It's a nice contrast, actually. This song gets better as it goes along; it keeps adding things to grab my attention. I like this one better than the previous. 3. "Lemonade"-Braids Mmmmm, Braids. I like this album quite a bit. Nice track choice; it's one of my favorites. I don't have much more to say about this one. 4. "Induco"-Midnight Juggernauts This serves as an interlude of sorts. I like this a lot. It's just a wall of synthy sound. If their longer tracks sound like this, too, then I want more. 5. "Inchworm"-Battles This one moves more. It has a nice beat, too. OMG, IT USES SLEIGH BELLS. I only bring this up because they're very tastefullly used. This is catchy. Doo doo dooooo, doo doo doo doo doo dooooo. This is goooood. I want more Battles. 6. "Strange Nostalgia for the Future"-Cut Copy Yaaaaay. :D Cut Copy are legit. This is one of my favorites from "Zonoscope." That beginning bit has a lot to do with it, I think. :tongue: Nice choice again. :smiley: 7. "Teenage Crime"-Adrian Lux Just from the beginning, it sounds more like a dance track than anything else I've heard at this point. Then again, I don't know a lot about that sort of thing, so I wouldn't take my word for it. It kinda just went to a drum beat, which gets annoying after listening to it for a while. Never mind, it just fixed itself. ...Wait, is Adrian Lux a woman? :inquisitive: The singer sounds like one. Given a lot of this tape hasn't had vocals on it, these are quite welcome. MMMMM. It just went into this wall of lushness. That goes on for a while, then goes softer. Now there are handclaps, and it goes back. I like this track a lot. I'll definitely look more into this. :dance: 8. "Kill Your Co-Workers"-Flying Lotus Nice beat at the beginning. It comes in with these cute little synthy things, then adds more beats. This song sounds very busy. I don't mind; in cases like this, that works just fine. It has just the right amount of things going on, and it changes just at the right time to keep my attention on the song. I'm like, "Oh, I like this. Wait, what's that? I like that bit." You know, my mind is keeping occupied. I appreciate this addition rather much. 9. "I Mind"-James Blake I. Love. Him. For real. His album is so chill. He's around my age, too. (He's around a year older than me, I think.) 10. "Davy Crockett"-Fang Island Woosh-a-woosh-a-woosh. It kinda starts out like that. It's gone on for about a minute now, and I'm wondering if it's gonna go anywhere. Thankfully, it does; it has synthetic strings (or something that sounds like it) now. "Oooh-oooh-ahhh-ohhhhhhh." That's an example of how the vocals pretty much go. That is, until the guitars come in. YEAH, GUITARS, WOOOOO. :wacky: It seems that this song can be easily separated into different sections. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not so sure if it was right to end the tape this way, but it's a nice listen nevertheless. Extra 1 Strings! Joy. :D Ummmmm. These vocals...they're not my thing. Wait...I hear "too many flesh suppers." Ohhh. This is Los Campesinos! My dislike of this track makes sense now. I remember the track title from the WoM awards for B-sides. I'm not really into that band. Sorry. :\ Extra 2 This starts with Cs on a piano, then evolves into a moving line. It continues to build with an addition of strings and a chord progression. As far as I can tell, this is just a cute little instrumental piece. Oh, now it adds a drumset. This is simple, yet pretty. It's so lovely. Would this happen to be Yann Tiersen? It sounds like something he would write, based on what I've heard people say about his music. (I've never actually taken a good listen to the guy.) Extra 3 This one has piano, too. I love piano tracks. I feel like I should know who this is, but I don't. :( The singer sounds like Win Butler to me, but he's more gritty than Win would be. I like this song. I can't help but feel like I've heard this song before... Extra 4 MOAR PIANO. Yes plx! This has drumset and guitar, too. I think I've realized this is yet another instrumental number. This is chill. I could use more stuff like this. I wish I had more to say about it, but the song kinda doesn't have a lot that I can talk about. :shrug: Extra 5 Drumset, then...trumpets? Nice! :D It has some snazzy guitar thing in it, too. Male and female vocals, too. The female vocals are quite clear. The male vocals are nice. They actually fit together nicely. I like the part where the girl and the guy are exchanging vocals, like a call and response sort of thing. I caught a bit lyrically about happiness or something. That's a novel idea. The song kinda has a bit of a cute factor. :smiley: Here's what I've gathered from the tape. Bryce, you've given me some more stuff to look into, particularly music with an electronic influence. I don't think I listen to as much of that as I should. I think overall, I liked the extras more than the tape itself, but that's mostly because, as I've mentioned before, I'm a sucker for piano music, and that's more of my cup of tea. The tape was definitely quite good. I think the middle of the tape was the best part. Thank you for making such a lovely tape. :smiley:

SON OF A- OK. It told me I have to upload it, then re-download it. I don't have the amount of patience (or time) to do this here at my house with dial-up Internet for 19 of these. This will have to wait until tomorrow. (Sorry, Navegador.) Well then. Time to listen to tapes that I've already downloaded. For those of you who are doing that, you should take a listen to Sofia's tape. (sofia dadou) It's rather fabulous.

Question: Does anyone know what in the world .ogg files are? I've opened Navegador's tape to review it for him, but I noticed the tracks were in this format, and I have no idea how to play them.

Stop it. All of you. I'm serious. This is stupid. I don't know Lory, so I can't say whether this is sincere or not. If it is, then you all are just wrong. I understand that the language barrier is just awful. I can't understand too much of what she says myself. However, seeing how some of you are taking advantage of that and making fun of her in her presence when she can't fully comprehend what you're saying...that's not fair or ethical. If she really is a troll, well, you're just adding fuel to the fire. One of the main rules of the Internet is "Don't feed the trolls." I thought we all knew about this by now. Either way, this is utter nonsense.
