  1. Does it work in a way that if I sing properly with warmups and that stuff on a regular basis, my voice will improve?
  2. that's somewhat obvious. And it's somewhat based on 12 bar blues.
  3. Well, I just made a random recording of me singing Yesterday by The Beatles. I used that cheap software, and I hadn't done any warmups, and put almost no effort or emotion into the song, and it sounded half decent. I think that's a good sign.
  4. So I'm interested in starting singing. For a number of reasons (money, time, ect.) I will not be able to take voice lessons. I have almost no experience in this field. Where do I start? I know some warmups (lip rolling scales). I am not sure if I have a naturally good voice (I doubt it). I've never heard a serious recording of me singing. I'm not sure what my octave range is, I think it's that of a typical adult male. I'm 15 years old, so is it too late to start?
  5. you left out the fish, even though it's pronounced different.
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeZCAkATeJI]YouTube- The Beatles One After 909 (Original 1963 Edit)[/ame] Here's a video for that song.
  7. So today I've decided that I can't transcribe or write solos to save my life. I'm taking guitar lessons soon, but what is a good resource to read to start learning to solo?
  8. I'm thinking of learning bass. I'm really into the Paul McCartney melodic style of playing, so I would get a Rickenbacker, but I don't have $3,000. Does anyone know a good bass for this style? I've been looking at Hofners.
  9. So my band is going to cover One After 909 by the Beatles, What's My Age Again by Blink 182, and Highway One by Foxborro Hot Tubs. We decided to do the early version of One After 909, because we have 2 guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. I just can't figure out what Key One After 909 is in. Can anyone help? Thanks! EDIT: I just figured out the chords, but I need to do the solo.
  10. Thanks for the help everyone! Now I just need to wait for my drummer to get over his flu and sinus/ear infection.
  11. I can't find/make any decent tabs for this song. All I know is that it's in D Major, and the acoustic rhythm guitar uses power chords.
  12. Well, sort of. We have 2 guitarists (we take turns on rhythm/lead). I also play keyboards in this band. We have all of the members (except the drummer, he can't sing while drumming) contribute to lead vocals. We all have good voices, so yeah. And to everyone: Thanks! I told the guitar player we are on "indefinite hiatus." The drummer, that bassist, and I are starting a new band with a more talented/commited guitar player. It will help my friendship, too.
  13. Look at Waldens. Very high quality, I bought one for about $340.
  14. @Heatseeker, very true. @Technicolor Liver. I know. At our school, there's no shortage. Practically expendable. That gives freedom to be as pickey as we want.
  15. Believe me, he is not like Hendrix. XD I feel not being in a band with him is the only way he and I could be friends, anyways.
  16. Ok, so my "band" is in need of serious help, we're probably in the worst possible situation a band could be in. I will say first, we're not even really a band, because we haven't practiced yet. One of our guitar players (who is one of my best friends, but he may not be for long at the rate he's going) is very lazy. We have no bassist, because our guitar player hates the only one who has been found. Our drummer goes to another school, but he's a very cooperative person, and talented too. The drummer and I gave the guitar player a choice, leave the band, or be in the band with the guy he hates. He just got really mad at us, and felt that what we did was mean. He has become very selfish recently. Should the drummer and I just start a new band with the bassist? I feel that would help everyone. Thanks!
  17. So I'm getting a new guitar soon, but I can't decide between a Casino or a Dot. I prefer the P-90's to humbuckers, not to mention the Casino's Beatle-esque sound. But, my uncle told me that you can't play loud on full hollow body guitars. Is this true? And could anyone with experience with both guitars (Or the ES-330 and ES-335) help me? Thanks!

  19. I call God Put a Smile upon Your Face the song of death..."Mom, could you drive me to the music store?"
  20. I'm working on an acoustic guitar version. Lost@!-+ Hmmm... Profanity?
  21. In Chinese sleep chant, there are so many effects that it is hard to tell who's playing what.
  22. I played Get Back on electric solo, and it went great!
  23. I think I'll probably bring my electric guitar in to school and play get back by the beatles.
  24. Is it just me, or do all of Coldplays songs have extra instruments, I know in don't panic there are 2 rhythm guitars (Jonny plays chords with a wah, but an electric and acoustic rhythm). What songs are not like this. Also, which ones have no extra guitars, and no string part? I'm not criticizing them, but I am just curious.
