I tried recording with my MP3 player but it came out terribly. There is like a buzzing sound over almost the whole recording. I think the volume was too loud for my recorder. Tonight, I've been lurking on the 7/16 Live forum for the show in San Diego. One of the chatters was posting tweets she was getting from fellow forum members at the show. It was like re-living it all over again. I continue to be a Coldplay junkie!

I was beating the back of my seat along with the crowd to bring Coldplay back onstage. I bet they're doing that now while Coldplay hangs backstage.

Thanks to all of you, I've enjoyed reading your tweet posts here. I've been lurking, reading them to bring back memories of the 7/13 and 7/14 concerts I attended at Shoreline and Wheatland. I had awesome seats at the Wheatland show and it seemed as if I was in a dream or something. I still feel in a bit of a daze over the whole experience. "Now my feet won't touch the ground!" I'm surprised people can text from the middle of a concert like that. In a few minutes it will all be over :( Coldplay and especially Chris Martin are pure heartbreakers. I've always thought that.

Thanks for sharing these, Duran! I can't wait until someone uploads "Lovers In Japan". Coldplay's performance of that song was so beautiful with the falling butterflies!!!

My only disappointment was that they didn't sing "Speed of Sound," which is my favorite pre-Vida song.

The first act http://www.myspace.com/kittydaisyandlewis, from the UK I missed, but the second one, who played from about 7:45-8:30 was http://www.amadou-mariam.com/, a blind black couple from Africa who put on a rich, culturally authentic performance at the 7/13 and 7/14 shows. They have a band with percussion instruments including bongos which gave the whole performance a unique, almost mysterious sound, with two African women singers/dancers who each took turns doing what looked like a trance dance, a spirited, rapturous dance. I felt as if I were in the jungles of Africa with the echo of the bongos and blissful singing. They were fantastic and I highly recommend that you try to get there to catch their act. Chris spoke highly of both acts.

Thank you precious friend for sharing You are a gem to share the great video clips and pics you took of Tuesday's show. Did you know, it was the one-year anniversary of Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour in the U.S.? So, it was an auspicious date. I think you had such good luck with your seating because you are such a loving fan of Coldplay. The love you give returns in kind. Also, you took the initiative to ask about getting a better ticket. If you were 4th in line, I'd say you more than deserved it! You're such a loyal fan! Oh, and you were already on my friends' list on Youtube (vivalacoldplay42). I try to pick up all the ardent Coldplay fans as friends, because I am one too! Starfish42 Coldplay = Love!

At the concert yesterday in Wheatland, the young lady with screen ID ColdplayRulesTheWorld said that her poster was confiscated at the entrance gate by security. They said it would block others' view so it might not be a good idea to spend time making one. Yesterday's show was fantastic, the most enjoyable night of my life! Chris was at his best and gave a great show. He has a certain golden glow about his aura. His energy and endurance are remarkable. It was a beautiful show. I will never forget it. We had great seats, front and center, right behind the pit. I could see and hear them perfectly. The whole experience seems surreal, looking back on it, as if I had dreamt the whole thing. I hope you all have a great time tomorrow! Lucky you!!!! Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

I thought the same thing. I was glad Chris did not repeat anything he said about the crowds at the two concerts, except that he appreciated whatever people had to sacrifice to be there. I thought that was sincere and sweet. As for the crowd, it depends on how people are in the area that you sat. I went to both concerts and I came away with a very different impression from yours. At Wheatland, I sat in sec. 103, row 2, front and center right behind the pit and I thought the crowd in that area was very nice, with many of us dancing and cheering Coldplay on at every opportunity. At the Shoreline, I was in sec. 202, row P, and I thought the people in that area were not spirited enough, though a friend of mine across from me, in sec. 204 said the crowd was very animated in his area with a lot of dancing and cheering. I also thought that Coldplay's performance at Wheatland was much "on the mark", more spirited and lively, although it might have been that I could see and hear them better with less distortion because of sitting closer to the stage at Wheatland. I found all the people I encountered to be very gentle and nice at both concerts, but the people in my section at Wheatland were especially gentle, with plenty of people dancing in my area to the more upbeat songs. Of course, right in front of me was the pit, which was always cheering with excitement. I sat down for parts, but could not resist jumping up to dance, clap, wave my arms and give Coldplay the power fist with the crescendos of the music. I will hold the concert in Wheatland as a precious memory forever. Coldplay hit me in the heart.

Starting times Coldplay will begin at about 9 PM and will play until about 11, including encores. The opening acts will start at 7 PM (or whatever the showtime is.) Amadou and Mariam, the blind black couple and their band and two dancers from Africa were fantastic! They played from about 7:45-8:30. (I missed the first opening act :( ) Then they played some pre-recorded U-2 and some rap music, as one of Coldplay's roadie's gave a short but sweet break dance performance! then, Mozart's Blue Danube Waltz, then Coldplay! If you have reserved seats, you should be there by 8:45 at the latest, and allow time for traffic, etc. If you have GA, arrive earlier to get near the front. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Awesome Concert in Wheatland ColdplayRulesTheWorld, I went to both concerts and I agree that tonight' s crowd was much better. I had almost perfect seats tonight, front and center. It seems that Chris gave a much better show tonight. He seemed more like I expected him to be, performing more like he usually does in the clips on Youtube. He sang right on key, as he usually does, and his dancing was especially good. I wonder where he gets the energy. He is in great shape at 32. He went non-stop for 2 hours. He is very muscular, especially in his legs. It's amazing how close you were to Coldplay. Great clip, and I hope you post more. Do you have a channel on Youtube? Please tell us your user ID so we can see all your clips when you upload. This concert was definitely worth the 120 miles I drove each way from San Francisco. It was simply an unforgettable experience. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Yes, they usually start about 9 PM, which will be great because it should be right at dusk. It will be a moving and beautiful experience to hear Coldplay begin their performance with the sky red with setting sun. Though it is turning night, Coldplay will keep the darkness away. Here's a beautiful example of Coldplay's opening a concert at dusk: [ame= ] [/ame] Love Chris Martin! Starfish42 Coldplay = Love!

Well, I'm saturated, having listened to them almost every day since Fall of last year. Then when I finally hear them again -- live! Please don't cancel this show, Coldplay! Almost all of the pit and most of the 100 sections are sold, so I doubt that it will be canceled. Hopefully, it will make the concert a little more intimate! Plans for Arrival My friend and I are leaving Bart/Concord, driving to Mtn. View via the Dumbarton. I figure we'll arrive 6:30-7:00 PM. It will take a while to park and to get to and through the line into the amphitheatre. Amadou and Mariam are the opening act, which starts at 7 PM, a blind couple from Mali, Africa, playing "Afro-Blues." I heard that after the opening act, it takes 1/2 or longer for the crew to set up the stage for Coldplay. They should start playing around 9 PM, which should be right at sunset, which will be simply beautiful! I saw a clip of this from a concert on the Isle of Wright, with Chris' singing "Square One" against the red sky of the setting sun. One thing is for sure, Chris will give us the best show possible. He loves the audience as much as we love him! Also, at Shoreline there will be about 13,000 people. The outpouring of love from that many fans will be awesome! Just imagine singing along with that many people the sing-along part of Viva La Vida, "Oh, Oh, Oh, Oooooh, oh..." ! We will never forget this concert! Starfish Coldplay = Love!

Yes, the time is approaching fast. 13,000 people will be at this concert, so it will be awesome to express our love for Coldplay all together. I'm not listening to any Coldplay music until the day of the concert so that it will sound "new" again! I will be hungry for a "Coldplay fix" by then! :) Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Coldplay Deprivation until the concert date I'm giving up listening to Coldplay for the next two weeks until the concert. I have been listening to them everyday and want to clear my mind so that when I hear them live, it will enhance the experience. I will be in Coldplay withdrawal by then and their music will be like a medicininal cure. I'm going to both the Shoreline and Wheatland concerts. I got great seats at Wheatland, just hoping they don't cancel. Ticket sales seem to have been slow for this concert, which is why I was able to buy them, unlike the Shoreline which is all sold out.

I prefer reserved seats over the lawn I would not buy lawn tickets to this concert because the difference in price between the lawn and the cheaper upper section seats is only a couple of dollars. They recently added two additional reduced price reserved seats, at $39 and $49 each. Lawn costs $35, which is only $4 less. I would rather sit up in a reserved seat closer and more comfortable than having to stand or sit on the grass and be further away. Also, I've heard that the lawn crowd are partiers, some rowdy, and not even paying attention to the show. Good luck with your tickets. Starfish Coldplay = Love

NOTE: as of 6/23/09, the TravelZoo 2 for 1 offer is not displayed any longer on the Live Nation site. They show a "Vitamin Water 2 for 1" promotion. Does anyone know how to participate in this offer? Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Slow and Steady Wins this Race! I did too, for the Shoreline concert. The slow and steady turtle, not the fast jack rabbit wins in this game! I've seen lots of people selling their tickets on Craigslist, probably because they upgraded and are trying to get their money back on the first tickets they bought. I found some friends that wanted the extra lawn tickets I had bought. Wheatland tix will be harder to sell since there are many deeply discounted seats available now from Live Nation. I waited many weeks to buy my tix for Wheatland, but it cost me a lot of time I spent checking the site hundreds of times over that period. At least their trying to sell enough tix to not have to cancel the show, and that is a very good thing! :) Last year two Coldplay concerts here were canceled: one in Oakland, the other in Sacramento. That only left San Jose HP Pavilion, with its inferior acoustics. Starfish Coldplay = Love

Don't feel bad. The same thing happened to me with the Shoreline concert. I had my finger on the trigger the morning that the tickets went on sale. That was first week of February. They didn't show any reserved seats available when it first opened, so I bought two lawn tickets for $110. Then, later in the day they showed a few reserved upper level seats available , and I bought two of those for $249. I am WAY up in there near the lawn. Then in the first week of May, they showed a bunch of seats available in the 100s or lower sections. I was very disappointed because I would have loved to have gotten two of those seats and to have been closer but I was not willing to spend more money buying any more tickets. Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw a couple of 100s section seats available there again. The pricing decisions are not made by Coldplay, but by the marketers under the direction of the producers. They are the ones who put the whole show together, who market and price the seats, and who decide whether or not to cancel a show if it looks as if they will lose money. Coldplay is only paid a fee for the show. Coldplay can cancel a show if they need to, such as if one of them is sick. They did that recently, but rescheduled another show to make up for it. I'm just glad that they are trying to sell enough tickets to avoid canceling the show. If you've noticed, there are more than 100 reserved seats available in most of the upper level sections. The producers and marketers have heavily discounted those seats, and now offer two more discounted categories: $49 and $39 seats, instead of just the $97 and $79 seats before. The seats in the upper section further to the side are discounted now. I'm afraid it might attract a roughneck crowd, and because they sell alcohol at the event, there is always a chance of misbehaving, although one would think that Coldplay's soft rock would only attract a crowd of the most beautiful, nicest people. I really hope they don't cancel this show because I have great seats now. A good friend of mine is going with me, and I think this will be a sweet show. I'm also going to see Coldplay the day before at the Shoreline, so call me a "hard-core" fan! From experience, it is better to take one's time buying tickets for popular shows like this. This forum is great for keeping up on what's happening with the availability of seats. It was here that I found out that they had opened up a bunch of seats at the Shoreline, though it was too late for me because I had foolishly bought tickets. The producers and marketers make their money by selling at what the market will bear. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

It is good news that you will have a seat if you want to sit down. At my age, I'd get tired if I had to stand for the whole concert. They re-opened selling floor seats only a couple of days ago. For a few weeks before that, they were showing the floor as completely sold out. They didn't show the floor seats or the 100s sections for sale at all until early May. So, a lot of people had to buy upper level seats at full price, not knowing these seats would open up later. A similar thing happened with the 7/13 concert at Shoreline and I bought upper level tickets and then the 100s opened up a few weeks later. It pays to wait if they are going to do this, but one has to keep checking. A forum like this is a good way to keep up on these things. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love
