  1. Congrats for getting tickets! Sections 1-3 are the Floor or "Pit" standing area. If I were taller and youger, I'd love a place in the pit. This is the place for the true, hard-core fans, of which I truly am one. It's good for jumping up and down, arm-waving, and dancing, and you really get to see the band up close in the pit. The handsome Guy Berryman stands on that side. You might want to arrive early to get as far in the front as possible if you are not tall. If you are strong enough, and your son is light enough, you could put him on your shoulders and let him do some visible arm-waving at the band! Even if you're short, don't worry, you will still be able to see the band fine because the stage is elevated. Hopefully, Chris will jump off the stage into the crowd and you will be there to help catch him! starfish42 Coldplay = Love
  2. Coldplay concert tickets at half price for Wheatland/Marysville 7/14/09 If you don't mind driving a little, tickets to the Coldplay concert in Wheatland on 7/14 (the day after Coldplay's concert at the Shoreline) are now half price. OK, here's the deal: the password for the Travelzoo special is TRAVEL (case sensitive), or click this link and it will take you directly to the buy ticket page for the 7/14 concert at the Sleep Train Amph: http://www.travelzoo.com/Newsflash.ashx?603680 I just bought two reserved level 1 seats for $124.20! starfish42 Coldplay = Love
  3. NOTE: as of 6/23/09, this offer is not displayed any longer on the Live Nation site. NOTE: as of 6/23/09, this offer is not displayed any longer on the Live Nation site. 4. The Live Nation web site is now showing a 2 for 1 sale for the 7/14/09 show beginning 6/20/09. I provide details in my post above.
  5. isnt' this a sweet song? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpbSQFJ4EEc]YouTube - Rainy Day- Coldplay[/ame] "but I love it when you come over to my house, I love it when you come over to my house! Ohhhhhhh...well, I love it when you come over to my house, I love it when you come over to my house! "

  7. Oh, I see now. This is a good song as it features Chris' voice. It has a classic rock sound, different from Coldplay's later music, which has more of an "alternative" sound. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvCPfucauYc]YouTube - Coldplay - Bigger Stronger[/ame] ... and doesn't it sound similar to "Such a Rush?" This song gave me goose bumps: "Everybody's out there, trying to get money..."
  8. What's so great about that song? I thought the video for it was rather lame. I believe it was Coldplay's first video. Here it is, with the band's commentary. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3fGFzKZ0ME]YouTube - Coldplay - Bigger Stronger Video (September 1999)[/ame]
  9. You can find some posters at http://www.coldplaybootlegs.com/ Look under forums. like this one: Warmly, starfish42
  10. I want to be the one sitting upon my friend's shoulders, and waving my arms back and forth to the music. Now that's hardcore fan activity! An example of what I'm talking about in this video, the guy in the red and white striped shirt at 2:59: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VwwXcimVvI]YouTube - Coldplay- Square One- Isle of Wight 2005 HQ[/ame] Warmly, Reggie Coldplay = Love
  11. I looked at serving as an Oxfam volunteer. If the job involved simply helping to set up before and to clean up after the show, or doing anything at all to help with the show, I'd do it in a second, but the description on the oxfam website is different. It describes the volunteer job as requiring one to walk around the entrance areas, trying to solicit support for Oxfam. There are also tables set up to do that. Volunteers do get their own special area in the front to sit, which would be awesomely nice. Soliciting or prostelytizing for any group (with the possible exception of Coldplay!)doesn't match my personality. I am basically not very outgoing and would be uncomfortable walking up to stangers as described. If Coldplay needs help in any other way, I wish they would let me know! Starfish42 Coldplay = Love
  12. TODAY IS NO-FEE DAY ON LIVENATION.COM! You basically save $20 for tickets bought online. Unfortunately, the Shoreline concert on 7/13/09 shows no reserved seats left. 13. Today is a "no-fee" day to buy tickets through Live Nation. Unfortunately, it's not letting me pick seats. Only the "best seat available" option is shown. Its idea of the best seat is not mine. If one buys today, Live Nation waives the $20 fee, so a $97.50 ticket costs $104 because they still charge the $6 venue fee and $.50 "charity fee." COLDPLAY = LOVE
  14. I saw that last year, Colplay canceled both the Oakland and Sacramento (that was in the city, not in Wheatland) shows. The only Bay Area show was at the San Jose HP Pavilion. From the clips I've seen of that show, it did not look like as good of a venue as the Amphitheatre. The acoustics and lighting weren't as good. The Wheatland show still has a lot of unsold seats. I just tried to pick my seats and it said that option wasn't available.
  15. No, the Coldplay.com site doesn't show any concert for 7/23/09. It is also unlikely that Coldplay would be in Mountain View on 7/23/09, since their site shows concerts on 22/07/09: Houston, TX - USA, and 24/07/09: Maryland Heights, MO - USA, unless they decide to change or cancel one or both of those shows.... also, I wonder if they might cancel the Wheatland/Marysville concert on 7/14 if it doesn't sell out. 16. I have not confirmed this yet, but I got an e-mail, saying that a new Coldplay show had been scheduled for the Shoreline for 7/23/09: When Jul 23, 2009 (Thursday) Where Shoreline Ampitheatre (map) One Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043 37.423343 -122.0780126 Who Coldplay What Buy Tickets for Coldplay at Shoreline Amphitheatre on 7/23/2009. --------------------------------------------------------------- The best place to check is on Coldplay's website...which I'll do shortly.
  17. How could I ever express how much their music has meant to me, how their music brings a tear to my eye? The words would fail to express it. Just like, I would be excited if they played their acoustic set near me but it would also be frustrating because I still could not communicate to them, how deeply their music has moved me. I feel as if I would die if I met them.
  18. I just checked and the GA floor is now shown as sold out. That's a good sign that the show won't be canceled. If they could not have at least sold the floor, they might have canceled. Section 103 is still shown as unavailable so I might as well hang it up for now. I'm giving up on this concert. I'll get my my Coldplay fix for the next year at the Shoreline concert on 7/13. I'm listening to "Low." Check out how perfect Chris' voice is: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P7Oyku1tIw&feature=related]YouTube - COLDPLAY - LOW with LYRICS[/ame] He comes across as so "right", (or is "righteous" a better word?) he's truly beautiful. Jonny played a major role in writing "Low."

You can also just google: livenation coldplay shoreline it will also give you links to there. I just checked, and it's still showing about 500 GA lawn seats available. Jim
  20. Craigslist Reserved seats were sold out last I checked, but lawn was still available. Also, you might check Craigslist. Copying Soulsalsa7's note on the Tickets for Sale or Trade thread at http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56439: "I would definitely check Craigslist San Francisco before Ebay as there have been some good prices for pairs in the lower sections and upper sections. They keep popping up each week. And there's always the day of the concert, people who can't make it but have some awesome seats to spare. Good Luck! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/t...min&maxAsk=max " A lady named Christin was selling a decent seat in the upper center section about a month ago but haven't checked with here lately. Good luck!
  21. Transportation for Concert Maybe someone can tell us how late the concerts usually go. I heard that Coldplay actually starts to sing (at least for their recent shows in Australia) at about 9 PM, after one or more opening acts. The other thing to remember is that the last Bart Train leaves Millbrae, I think at midnight. To get to Berkeley, probably have to transfer to the Richmond line at that late hour. You say that CalTrain runs until 11, but I would guess the concert might go until 10:30-11:00. Would a veteran Coldplay concert fan please advise how late the show is expected to go? I think this is why most people drive! Jim

All of the reserved seats are shown as all sold out, only lawn remains. I found a lady on Craigslist who was trying to sell a ticket in the upper center section at face value, but I don't know if she still has the ticket. Here's her e-mail if you'd like to contact her: [email protected] Her name is Christin. She assured me she was legit and she works in san francisco. Good luck, Regards, Jim
  23. I don't know the answer to your question, but you could look on Google Mapquest driving directions. I did not want to drive because it will probably be very crowded, at least after the show. Several thousand cars will be leaving at once. I'm thinking of taking public transit there. I read that there is bus service to the Shoreline Amphitheatre from the Fremont Bart Station. If I go early enough, it should be fine. Later, it will probably be packed on the day of the concert. There must also be some way to go by CalTrain, probably to Mtn. View and then should be a bus from there to Shoreline. I have friends going who can probably drop me off on the way back at a Bart station. For Marysville, I'd plan on driving and might spend the night somewhere up there.
