  1. I don't think they have forgotten, rather they are just busy with the current tour schedule. Though many of the European shows have 2 days between them, it is still a lot for them to have to travel from one country to another and have all the sets and equipment moved, much less the work of having to perform the shows. I don't think that even they know the details of the Latin American tour yet, assuming that they will revisit Tampa then. They will probably issue a special Latin American version of Viva La Vida, as they did for the X&Y Latin American tour. They also held a big kickoff interview with the band. That was the one in which Chris answered a question about what Gwenyth's favorite was, by asking, "I'd ask you, 'What is you favorite sexual position...' that's personal. Next question." Now, for one of the sweetest songs in the world: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7CbHwi5fUo]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7CbHwi5fUo[/ame]
  2. For Austingirl Was this like the song Chris sang for the final encore on ACL? It is indeed an endearing performance: [ame= ] [/ame] Sweet piano playing on that song. Chris looks mellow in all these Maida Vale clips, showing his natural beauty.
  3. I'm watching them now. They're excellent! Thank you very much for sharing them!
  4. If you don't mind, please upload all your clips taken from the pit. Nice quality videos like the one you shared are rare. Think of all the love and joy you'll be spreading by sharing those with other Coldplay fans! I know uploading to Youtube can be a hassle because sometimes it fails after a long upload, but I cannot tell you how much I and others would appreciate it !
  5. OMG, this is precious. I love clips taken from right in front of the stage, especially in HD! You captured Chris' playing Postcards from Far Away. He actually said in one interview that he "wasn't very good" on the piano. Not true! I appreciate how perfectly he plays after watching some amateur Coldplay covers on Youtube. Chris' playing a concert reminds me of workout, but more than that, it is an artistic and joyful expression. One knows he is getting a good workout when he sweats. He must be in great shape to perform this way, and it probably helps keep him in good shape. I would love to know every detail of his health regime: diet, exercise, and how he finds R&R, relaxation and recreation. Thanks for posting this; I am anxious to look at all your clips after work today.
  6. This morning, I woke with The Scientist playing in my mind. I heard Chris sang it backwards in one of his concerts. He had to learn it that way to make the video, which was played in reverse motion. On Youtube, there is a clip in which the recording is played backwards. It sounds neat in reverse, like another language. I think The Scientist is a calming, relaxing, melancholy and romantic song. It sounds as if it written in memory of Bruce Paltrow and it has a few lines expressing his love for Gwenyth ("Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry, you don't know how lovely you are; I had to find you, tell you I need you, Tell you I set apart... tell me your secrets, ask me your questions, oh let's go back to the start..." - for Gwenyth? OK, now I have goosebumps!) Chris said that he never met Bruce Paltrow but that he was proud to be a part of his family because he was a great man and loved by many. The sing along is great in this video, and his hair makes him look a little like a scientist!: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-ttxKWv36w]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-ttxKWv36w[/ame]
  7. Of course you have a right to fantasize. I dream about Chris nonsexually, of course, and I'm a guy, so I can imagine the fantasies that a woman would have about Chris. Something about him strikes me right in the heart. He's done a great job of selling himself as a "total package", a talented, good, and very likeable person. He's obviously a very hardworking, creative and successful person. Have you noticed how much he sweats during the concerts? In one of the Texas clips, the sweat is pouring off him when he bows his head. These are all qualities that inspire me to do better in my own life. He's not afraid to throw himself completely into his work, and he also loves his work.
  8. Sounds like a typical jealous Coldplay critic. Don't listen to him, Chris! My favorite dancing, besides Lost! are: his twirls in LIJ and when he looks as if the drum blasts are striking him in Fix You. It's as if he throws himself completely into the spirit of the music. I love Chris' level of passion and commitment. I know that the whole band has the same passion, and they are all as great, but Chris is the one out in front, and he tends to be the focus of attention.
  9. Proposed Mass Dance for Lost! I think we should organize a mass dance for Lost! We could dress in French revolutionary costumes. Wouldn't that be awesome! We need an instructional step-by-step video to learn Chris' steps, like they have for Thriller.
  10. If I hear Chris talking to me, I'll start to worry. Luckily, I live alone so no one to see me dancing to the music that only I can hear. :P You are on the band's guest list for Wembley, so you can have Chris. But seriously, I am fairly sure that Gwenyth does not want to share Chris. I've noticed he's scrupulously pure about other women. For example, he once introduced Alicia Keys in a concert as the "second most beautiful woman in the world, second only to my wife." Chris is pretty clear about his how important his marriage is to him. He once walked out of a BBC interview because he was asked about whether he was insecure about Gwenyth's previous affair with Pitt. One of his songs is about that, but don't remember now. It seems to me that his marriage is as important for him as it is for Gwenyth. They are two rare and unique people in many ways.
  11. Past the Point of No Return? OK, I've really gone over the deep end. This morning I was dancing to LIT, but with the song's only playing in my mind. I could hear every note of the hammered dulcimer. I actually worked up an aerobic response and felt great. I don't even need to hear Coldplay's music any longer. It's recorded in my soul. One idea is to hold a Coldplay party, playing all of their songs and with people dancing with abandon to the music. I think that would be joyful, and a good way to make friends with other coldplayers.
  12. What does 42 mean? I wanted to share my post about 42... After thinking about it some more, this is my feeling about the song: 42 sounds like someone who survived a battle, in which he lost many of his friends. We find a soldier, grieving for the loss of his fellow soldiers. He misses them but realizes that they live on inside his head: they are not dead. He "fell for that spell," absorbed in his thoughts of them. He talks to them, saying, "You might be a ghost..." He is dealing with the loss and futility of war. This is a carryover of the miltaristic theme of the VLV. "Violet Hill," expresses a rebellion against the "idiots", the leaders who send others into war for their own purposes. "I don't want to be a soldier for a captain on whose shipwrecked ship is stowed, far below." A soldier stowed far below will go down with the ship. 42 ties in with the overall theme of the album, to live life to its fullest and to not follow Death and all his friends. Viva La Vida!
  13. It was a nice night in Wheatland. It had been 104 on the way to Sacramento, it had cooled to 94 when we arrived at the venue, and by the time the sun went down, there was a nice breeze. We got seats right behind the pit, so we had a good view of the band. It was an enchanted evening for us. I respect that you are definitely a die-hard Coldplay fan to make a vacation out of following them around as much as you have. I have seen clips of the SLC concert, and it was great. That's quite a long way from San Diego, as is Washington. If you need any help finding Coldplay piano tutorials on Youtube, let me know and I will be happy to help.
  14. Meaning of 42 After thinking about it some more, this is my feeling about the song: 42 finds a soldier grieving for the loss of his fellow soldiers. 15. I have an airplane voucher with United that is good for a year beginning 8/14/09. I don't have a concert ticket, though, and do not plan to go unless I can get a floor or pit ticket.
  16. Chris does look strikingly beautiful in the pic you posted of the Bern concert tonight. He's a natural beauty. I love the bright color in his face. I wish I knew his secrets for always looking so good, to the extent that he can control it and lives a healthy life. I know Gwenyth posts many health related topics on her web site http://www.goop.com. She posted an interesting detox diet a few months ago, and I wondered if Chris follows healthy practices like that. Chris Martin is someone has a lot of charisma and knows how to flaunt it in front of thousands in concerts, or millions on TV. As for those girls at the French NRJ music awards, I remember them, and I thought they were very cute and looked to me as if they were completely enchanted by seeing Chris perform. I agree that LIT2 works much better with the full band and with Chris' singing it with guitar. I was blown away when I first saw their performance of it on Top of the Pops New Year's Eve. I was very impressed by the subtle expressions in Chris' eyes when he sang that. Lost? sounds so different from Lost! that yesterday when I heard it, I had to think twice because at first I didn't even recognize what song it was. I like the sound of the piano in Lost? a lot. Lost! has a definite sense of excitement which Chris expresses beautifully with his sensual Lost! dance in live concerts.
  17. Also, Youtube has many videos that show how to play Coldplay songs on piano. For me, that's another lifelong dream: to play Coldplay's music on keyboard or piano if I'm ever able to own one.
  18. Hi, Sdcoldplayfan! I see you were at Sleep Train as well on 7/14/09, as I was. Wasn't that a great show? For me, it was a magical night I will never forget. I have a playlist of it, with a few other live clips added at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=7278399C57085D21 My Youtube channel is a work in progress to accumulate all things Coldplay. It is my life work right now.
  19. I can't believe you used the words "Chris" and "ick" in the same sentence. But, then again, it took me years to realize my feelings for him. I think you know about the Lost versions, but it doesn't hurt repeating them. Lost! is the VLV album version with the hip hop beat and clap; Lost? is the acoustic version; and Lost+ is with Jay-Zee. Lost! is my favorite because of Chris' presentation of it with his proud display of his athletic prowess and extremely sensual dancing. I'm also fascinated by his spinning in a circle like a whirling Dervish in LIJ and other songs. He's intoxicating to watch. And I should know. I'm a member of the Lost! thread at http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47713
  20. To answer the original question posed in this thread: When I first heard it, I honestly wasn't captured by it. I thought it had a mediocre appeal, and I wasn't excited by it at all. However, like many Coldplay songs, it was Chris' presentation of the song and his soulful interpretation of it through dance that captured me. "Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically and people will like it more" is true. It was Chris' enthusiasm as he sings and dances to the song that won me over to make Lost! one of my favorite Coldplay songs. My goal is to be able to dance as Chris does. For one thing, it seems to keep him in excellent physical shape. He's beautiful physically.
  21. I'm fascinated by Chris' dancing to Lost in concerts. I've never seen anyone move with more soul and beauty. He does some fancy footwork too! I especially like his dancing in Fix You and Lovers in Japan as well. To see that is worth the price of the ticket. I also like when Chris moves around in a circle like a Whirling Dervish. He's intoxicating and a joy to watch.
  22. Thanks for raising this question. I had coincidentally raised it in another forum, never having heard an explanation of the song. Chris is a student of the esoteric, or mystical side of religion. He said he has studied about these things, and there is one picture of his sitting in a yoga meditative position. For many years, he has been performing a dance during his concerts that is remarkably similar to that of the Whirling Dervishes. I find it uplifting and exciting to see Chris doing this dance: "The mystical spinning dance brings the praying dervishes to a point of ecstatic reconnection with the divine source within and around them and is intended to bring light to the world." (http://www.creedopedia.com/topics/Dervishes) Another source says it is because the album is approx 42 minutes long, there were 42 songs discarded from the X&Y sessions and because the ultimate answer of the question asked in the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy about the meaning of life is 42, which supposedly takes millions of years to answer. The digits in 42 add to 6, which is the number of Tipareth, meaning Beauty, Harmony, and Balance in the Kabbalah. "Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head," means that death only changes the physical aspect. Those who die continue to live in the inner worlds, and in the inner worlds of their acquaintances and loved ones. "And since I fell for that spell, I am living there as well." He has become aware of the inner world. I became of the inner world after some of my loved ones died, and I remember feeling that they had begun living inside me. 'Time is so short and I'm sure There must be something more' - As people get older, they realize that there must be more to life than living day to day, pursuing the same material goals that seem meaningless in the face of death. What does it all mean, if I'm just going to die? The prospect of being a ghost means you don't die, but you're stuck between two worlds, unable to move on. The song has an upbeat sound during this part, but it's short lived. Then he finishes the song by returning to the beginning line, "Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in my head.... Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" which he held for 12 seconds during the concert I saw! I like bigfishjuan's observation: I think the fact that "there must be something more" refers to life and not after-life is confirmed by the rest of the album, the main message of which is Live Life. http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858725023/2/ASC/#comment I find it moving, how they drop the Viva banner in the concert during the middle of "Death and All His Friends" which is now the last official song of the concert, before the encores. That is the message of the whole album: live life to its fullest no matter the difficulties you are facing.
  23. Thank you for that information! One day I'll hopefully know all the players in the Coldplay world. I recognized several of the famous faces in the audience of the BBC concert, including Jay-Zee and Ricky Gervais. A blond lady with the hat is someone famous, but I didn't know her. I've been listening to Coldplay clips this morning as usual. I never dreamed I'd be as emotionally moved by a rock band as I am by Coldplay, but that's their surprising effect on me. One person on Youtube, coolhandluque, has a playlist from the Sydney concert, with some particularly good clips from the pit, many in HD. For my 1.5 MB/s DSL connection, I have to let HD clips download into the cache before I play them, otherwise they will play choppily. This clip isn't HD, only HQ. LIT brings tears to my eyes too. I think it's because LIT has the special feeling of Coldplay's saying, "We're here!" I'm a complete wreck emotionally for Coldplay, but the feeling of love has never been as joyful: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTQ5-NkumbA&feature=PlayList&p=AC24C9D40DF52201&index=0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTQ5-NkumbA&feature=PlayList&p=AC24C9D40DF52201&index=0[/ame] Just 18 days until your concert in Wembley, Tracey! ~)
  24. I don't know if this link will come through, but this user has many of the clips from the Toronto concert: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=jamieza&view=videos&start=20 He also has clips from the Radio One broadcast at Maida Vale Studios. Chris seems particularly beautiful here, kind of calm, starry eyed and meditative demeanor: [ame= ] [/ame] Does anyone know who "Joe" is? He wishes Joe at the end of the the last song, "Merry Christmas" and in the VLV BBC concert, he says, "You know, I love you, Joe," during Yellow, instead of "I love you so."
  25. There is a good description of how Yellow came to be written. It might have been in a Wiki article. Yellow was inspired one night by the band's going out of the studio, which was outside of London, away from the City lights, in a place where they could see the stars shining brightly. Writing the song was a collaborative effort, with each band member contributing a few lines. That is why it seems a bit incoherent and disjointed. It all has meaning, though. I think Chris avoids repeating the meanings of songs because he doesn't want them to become commonplace. If one researches and listens to enough Coldplay's interviews, the meanings can usually be found. I would like to know the meaning of 42, for which I have not found any explanation of yet. It seems to be written after the experience of someone's dying, but I don't know how "42" fits in.
