This is completely true. I am gratified that Coldplay was able to do as many shows as excellently as they did in this year's N.A. tour. I believe Chris Martin is able to transcend the physical. I've seen him give beautiful performances, even when he looked exhausted. He has tremendous inner strength, I believe because he loves what he is doing. From the definition of his muscles, he appears to be a fittie. When a person has his heart in something as Chris does, he will go the extra mile and not mind it one bit. If his health broke down, I would guess that it broke down in a big way, or else he would have proceeded with tomorrow's show. The new video "Strawberry Swing" portrays Chris as a superhero like Superman. I think that fits him well for his extraordinary strength and endurance when touring. I was following the forums for three of the shows after the Coldplay concerts I attended. I could not keep up with them, or the numerous other shows they did since. To think that they actually traveled thousands of miles and performed those shows is a sign to me of the band's incredible strength, and Chris is at the forefront as the lead vocalist. He can't just coast through any performance. Rather, he seems to give more than 100% of his energy in each show. I'm sorry he got sick and hope he gets well soon, and I thank him for the great shows he played.

Don't feel blue Don't be sad if you're going to Wembley! Instead, start getting your passports ready. Chris Martin is one of the most positive people I have ever known of. He always has some positive outlook on matters that most find challenging. Here are a few Favorite Chris Martin quotes that are meant to console and uplift you: "Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically and people will love it more." "Life is miraculous, even when it's disastrous, it's still incredible, I'm fascinated with everything, life is fascinating, I'm fascinated by trees and dogs, but no one wants to hear me talk about it." "It's only entertainment. If someone doesn't like us, they don't have to listen." [How is that possible?] Here is a playlist of a few live Coldplay clips, mostly from the bay area concerts (Wheatland): http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=7278399C57085D21 Look at it this way, all the shows are pretty much the same!

The locals and those who made it to Tampa should definitely get together and have a drink. Please give Dianne a hug for me.:hug: She probably needs it now. I feel for her! The truth is that I could have gotten a RT ticket for $200 on Priceline but I decided not to go because of other commitments that I have at work and home. I could have easily been among the rest of you, left hanging in limbo, 3,000 miles or more from home. Yet, we all feel sad for Chris' illness and hope he gets the rest he needs. I was surprised at how strong he was on the second night I saw him. He actually seemed fresher and perkier at that show than at the one the night before, and his voice was strong and clear. I especially noticed how when, he laughed, he seemed to do it from deep in his belly. He accidentally laughed during the beginning of "Politik" and apologized. Their having cancel tonight's show proves that the stress of traveling catches up with even the strongest and the best of characters like Chris Martin.

Chris' spastic dancing during "Fix You" is my favorite. He completely surrenders to the music.

Tracey, I hope you definitely go for Wembley! If that show is not offered, any show in England or Ireland would be great. From the clips I've seen of the Manchester shows, the audiences there are very exuberant. That's where they filmed the official video of "Fix You" with Chris' swinging the light around at the end, and the audience's singing along near the end of the song. GO FOR IT!!!!! and congratulations. I would guess that would be much more exciting that the show in Tampa, especially if Babel is paying for travel costs. You're living the dream!!!

WOW! I just logged on to the forum to read the news about the concert's cancelation/postponement. Thinline, now I'm glad I/we didn't go, that would have been a huge disappointment, eh? I would have felt responsible if I had convinced friends to go and then we got stuck with wasted expenses. This quote from Chris Martin seems appropriate at this point: Life is miraculous, even when it's disastrous, it's still incredible, I'm fascinated with everything, life is fascinating, I'm fascinated by trees and dogs, but no one wants to hear me talk about it. Given Chris remarkable strength, vigor and vitality, you can be sure he's really very sick if he had to cancel a show. Poor guy, I don't know how he performs so many shows back to back with usually no more than a day between shows, if that. They performed their shows here in the SF Bay area on consecutive days. My heart goes out to Chris along with everyone elses'. GET WELL SOON CHRIS! YOU KNOW YOU ARE LOVED!

Of course, California has less humidity than Florida generally. It had been 104 degrees in the Sacramento area the day of the Wheatland concert. I was a little worried about the heat before going to the show because I live in San Francisco and am spoiled by its constant, cool weather. As it turned out it was no problem at all. By the time we arrived, at about 7:30 it had "cooled down" to 94. I was surprised that it didn't seem to be nearly that hot. I was excited just to be there and was in a semi-numb state by the time Coldplay came on, so I didn't even notice the heat. I was too occupied, enthralled by the concert. RE: the orchestra seats, has anyone been to this venue before who knows what these seats are like? If they are floor level, they might not have the best views with people standing in the pit in front. Though, you can still probably see Coldplay fine, since the stage is elevated. The problem is if people standing right in front of you are taller and block your view. If people would sit down, it helps equalize everyone's height, but that is almost impossible in a concert with a band that excites the crowd as much as Coldplay does. I did my share of jumping up during the exciting parts of the songs, and noticed people behind me who were sitting, who then had to stand. [sorry!] Tracey, you probably have pit tix. They would have reserved these prior to selling them out. I would not worry about it. Even if they give you orchestra, I think they would be great, as they are floor center seats. I think the orchestra needs to be able to see the stage to know what's going on there and when to play their parts. Either those, or seats in the lower sections. You should be able to see fine.

Tribute to Coldplay: Glass of Water Ele, an young lady in Italy, and a friend of mine on Youtube made this video as a tribute for her one-year anniversary of becoming a Coldplay fan. It captures some of Coldplay's best moments: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXFac7OJEBs]YouTube - Coldplay: ''Glass Of Water'' (my new special video-tribute)[/ame]

BTW, glad a fellow Californian is still awake in this forum... while the East Coast sleeps... though I will be in bed soon too. I wonder if that's why there are orchestra seats still available... people don't notice the little dots unless they zoom, and most would not know to do that. That would be lucky for those who find them, assuming they are seats with good views. Anyway, it's a good sign that this show might be sold out by Sunday, or at least the lower sections will. Right hand sec. Orchestra 1 has 31 seats remaining, and orch. sec. 3 has 5. Funny that LiveNation is charging almost $7 more to stand in the pit than to sit right behind it. At the show I attended, the tix were the same price, but the pit was changed from GA to assigned seats with chairs, even though everyone in the pit was standing the whole time. I myself would like the chairs to help keep people from crowding and pushing towards the front, which can be very unpleasant and dangerous, and it makes it easier to see if people are more spread out and not all packed together.

My guess -- Most likely you have pit tix I'm guessing you have pit tix, or at least in the lower seated sections. That is what most people win that I've heard of anyway. If you have to wait until you go to Will Call, you might have to keep your other tix as a back up though to be sure. I wonder if there is a way to call the Will Call office and find out what kind of tix you have. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

LiveNation has typically been holding the pit and other best tickets until near the end of the sale period. There are still "orchestra" section tix on sale, but I'm not sure what they are like at this venue. Check them out, they are two little dots behind the pit. You have to increase the zoom to see them. It looks as if they are reserved seats, not standing like the Pit. The ones towards the back were still available as of last night. Use the "Click 'n Pick" option to see them. Yes, his liberal use of the "F word" is one of the few human touches to Chris' squeaky clean image! He's immaculate and beautiful, but nonetheless sexy, too. I've always liked that he seems to be very working class in some intangible way, a very average yet profoundly special Englishman. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

For me, part of the Coldplay conversion was having known of them for as many years as I did, without fully appreciating them. I'm just glad that there are millions of others who did recognize their greatness enough to get them to where they are today. They didn't accomplish what they did with my help, until last year at least. I feel a sense of guilt about all the years I could have supported and enjoyed their music and didn't. I'm glad Coldplay never gave up but kept "trying to get better." So, it doesn't surprise me about how many people have no idea of Coldplay's magical music. The friend I took to Wheatland later wrote me that I had converted him into a Coldplay lover, so I feel I've done some good in the world. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Dianne, I relate completely. I'm the only person I personally know who saw Coldplay concerts on the two consecutive days they were in the bay area, driving to the first show an hour away in Mountain View, and to the second show 2 hours away in Wheatland. My friends did not share the same level of enthusiasm, but they all understood and respected, if not admired the passion I feel for this band. You are going for an experience that will undoubtedly be unforgettable as was the second concert I attended. Having seats as close as I did made all the difference in the world and it was worth going just for the experience of seeing the band, whose music uplifts my spirits every day, up close and in person. I have never had another experience equal to it. BTW, the PIT is sold out! and there are only 10 and 2 seats left in secs. 4 and 7, but 22 and 38 seats, in back of the left and right "orchestra" sections. Now I wonder if I didn't have orchestra seats at the Wheatland show. They were in the small center section right behind the pit, but elevated above the pit. There were about 6-8 techies in the back of this section, operating the show with laptop computers. This was section 103, shown in the Wheatland Sleep Train seating chart below, front and center of the VIP box seats. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

These are the songs for which I found clips of the ACL concert on Babelgum. They autoplay in loosely consecutive order: 1. Speed of Sound 2. Square One 3. Clocks 4. ‘Til Kingdom Come 5. X & Y 6. Fix You Roughly calculating this appears to be about 30-35 mins, which was about half of the show. I'm aware there were a couple songs in which Michael Stipe accompanied Coldplay, which aren't in the playlist on Babel. Unfortunately, these are streaming videos (as opposed to those cached in Temporary Files,) and I do not know any way to save them. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

Tracy/Martinfan: It's smart to have low or no expectations on getting backstage passes. I think it's likely that you'll get pit tickets, which will be a significant step up from sec. 8, although "if you never try, you'll never know." If they were lawn tickets, I think they would have told you in order to not cause you shock when you got there! Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

That's why I check every spam message now. The survey request that gave me free VIP parking for responding was delivered to my spam box. Seating status: 11 GA spaces in the Pit :dance::dance::dance:; 42 and 34 seats for sale in the L and R Orchestra (are these seats good? I believe that they sunken into the floor with poor views); Sec. 4, 5, and 7 have 15, 2, and 12 seats (with some front row seats, behind the wheelchair ramp) available in Secs. 4 and 7; and numerous seats in the upper level sections. This looks a little like the Wheatland concert, for which Live Nation ended up holding 2 for 1 sales and promotions. Maybe because this is Coldplay's last U.S. show for the tour, it is counting on more last minute sales. The pit sold a lot of tickets fast in these last few days. Does anyone know if the left and right orchestra seats recently opened up? I just noticed them today, they are tiny little dots behind the pit. I wonder why there are as many tickets available for those. The center orchestra is shown as sold out. The Pit in this amphitheatre looks HUGE! Starfish42 Codlplay = Love

You're on the band's guest list and might get backstage passes! My head would be spinning at this point if I were in your place. Good things seem to come in waves. I hope it is as fun and exciting as can be. For me, seeing Coldplay up close, from a great seat and at a bargain price seemed surreal for me. I felt myself on a kind of natural high for 2 weeks afterwards. My feet felt a little pleasantly numb. Some very fortunate events also occurred for me at my job. It was a magical time for me. Austingirl, I found some clips of the ACL concert. They are simply exquisite, or I should say, Chris is. Note: they only play well in full screen on my computer, hit F11 if it only shows a tiny play screen initially: Talk http://www.babelgum.com/browser.php#play/SEARCH_SIMILAR,clipID:3012900,includeClip:true,order:MOST_RELEVANT/11,3023314 It began autoplaying other clips, here is another: Square One: http://www.babelgum.com/browser.php#play/SEARCH_SIMILAR,clipID:3012900,includeClip:true,order:MOST_RELEVANT/12,3023313 It looks as if the whole ACL show might be on there! I can see why you were "thoroughly impressed!" and how your bond was formed that night with Coldplay. Warmly, Starfish42 Coldplay = Love

I know it makes no economic sense, but if I won something like that, I'd find a way to go. Matters of the heart are not subject to rationality or complete logic! The final show will have Jay-Zee which makes it something special (Lost+).

The drawing announcement describes tickets for the 9/19 finale in London. "Win 2 tickets and travel to see Coldplay at London's Wembley Stadium on September 19th." How or why did they switch it to Tampa? Maybe they have 1st, 2nd, etc. prizes, and the Wembley show is 1st prize? Just curious. It also says (as Dianne has already reported): The Free prize Draw will end the 1st of September. The Coldplay Live gig will take place on 19th September 2009 at Wembley Stadium in London. Babelgum will cover reasonable agreed economy return UK domestic travel expenses and accommodation expenses for 1 night. The winners will be informed via email within 24 hours after the draw. If Babelgum does not receive any answer from the winner within 48 hours from notification another winner will be selected. So, I guess there are prizes for Wembley and for other concerts. Congratulations. You'll know if it's legit if they send you the flight info, which you can confirm with the airline (same with the hotel info.) If it's not legit, nothing lost. I doubt that anyone would scam you on this. If they asked for you credit card or checking account number, it could very well be a scam trying to collect something from you in advance of the "prize." If you did win, consider it part of your good karma for the true love and devotion you feel for Coldplay. I believe Coldplay is love. Starfish42 Coldplay = Love
