Green Eyes "lesson" heh :)
Hey guys. I've been working out Green Eyes for sometime and I think I've finally gotten everything one needs to know about the tabs and stuff. I don't know if yall have already figured this out haha, so this might look silly, but ill post a tab up, and yall can tell me what you think? Ok? Great!:D I guarentee your looking at this like WTF why DO U WRITE SO MUCH? Haha i feel you. But trust me, im telling you pretty much everything you need to know. If you read this through and practice, i ASSURE YOU you will pick it up in no time. Took me a month or two to learn the basic chords, and quite a few more months to figure this out. Have fun! Alrighty so, basics first. Tuning: EADGBd Album record: capo 2nd fret Live record: no capo If you capo 2nd fret, play relative to capo Ill post the chords, and if anyone wants to ill post a video tutorial with the rythm and everything, itll only take 5 minutes or so to whip one up. Some chords, you will have to use thumb *gasp* But this is coldplay, so you should know that already:laugh3: Also, a little of my lingo. > denotes a transition (a bunch of fast changing chords) I put X's where you would usually play like a 0 or a 2 because that kinda fights with the bass note, and i dont like it. On the G shape chords feel free to add it, but i dont like the sound. With the big spaces (--------) Your playing the same chord as mentioned before the dashes. so 2---------- means you play 2 all the way there. I tried to make the dashes as long as the chord is playing for you guys. Honey you.. (little transition there) d--0------0------0------------0--0... B--0------3------1------------1--0... G--0------2------2------------0--0... D--0------0------2------------2--0...Repeat as necessary A--X------0------0------------0--X... E--3------2------X------------X--3... Green eyes.. d--0-----------0-----------0-----------0... B--1-----------1-----------0-----------3... G--2-----------0-----------0-----------2... D--2-----------2-----------0-----------0...Repeat as necessary A--0-----------3-----------X-----------0... E--X-----------3-----------3-----------2... TRANSITION: (between Deny you.... and I come here) d--0->0->0 B--1->0->1 G--0->0->2 D--2->2->2 A--3->2->0 E--3->0->X I come here... (begins with the last chord of that transition) d--0------------0------------0----0----0------->0-->0... B--1------------1------------0----1----1------->0-->1... G--2------------0------------0----2----0------->0-->2... D--2------------2------------0----3----2------->2-->2...Repeat until next verse A--0------------3------------X----3----3------->2-->0... E--X------------3------------3----1----3------->0-->X... Right before the honey you are the sea thing, hes whispering green eyes... green eyes... and playing one chord with a hammer. Thats this right here: d--0----0>0... B--1----1>1... G--2----0>2... D--2----2>2... A--0----0>0... E--X----X>X... Alrighty well, thats pretty much the song. Just rearrange those chords a bit for the ending where he goes oh wu uh oh. But yeah for the second half of the song just repeat that pattern, it repeats exactly like that. If you want a tutorial or whatever, just post! Enjoy, hope i can helpp :)

Check out my Coldplay covers on Youtube
Damn. That amsterdam one is nice. When I play it out of the book on my keyboard the chords sound weak, but yours sound a lot fuller. Mind posting your chords?

Strawberry Swing Chris Tab
Hey guys. I just tabbed this out using the life version from the Roskilde Festival in 2009. This is Chris' part. Tell me what ya think. Standard Tuning Capo 1st Fret They were sittin...........Sittin, in the strawberry swing E--0------------------------0---------------------------------0------| B--0------------------------0---------------------------------0------| G--10----------------------5---------------------------------12-----| D--11----------------------6---------------------------------13-----| A--11----------------------6---------------------------------13-----| E--9------------------------4---------------------------------11-----| When its such, its such a perfect day.. Its such a perfect day E------------0-----------------------------0---------0-----------------0--| B------------0-----------------------------0---------0-----------------0--| G------------8-----------------------------10-------6-----------------5--| D------------10---------------------------11--------8-----------------6--| A------------10---------------------------11--------8-----------------6--| E------------8-----------------------------9---------6-----------------4--| Those are the chords for that beginning verse. Here's the bridge. Its suchhhh a perfect day... E-------0--------0--------0--------0------| B-------0--------0--------0--------0------| G-------6--------0--------6--------10----| D-------8--------3--------8--------11----| A-------8--------3--------8--------11----| E-------6--------0--------6--------9------| Now the sky. Could be Blue. I don't mind. Without you its a waste of time. -------------*----------------*---------------*-------------------| E-----------0------------------0--------------0------------0-----| B-----------0------------------0--------------0------------0-----| G-----------13----------------13-------------13----------10---| D-----------13*---------------13-------------13----------11---| A-----------11----------------10-------------9------------11---| E-----------X------------------X--------------X------------9-----| For the * chords above, you can also substitute E---0---0--0 B---0---0--2 G---5---5--3 D---6---6--4 A---6---6--4 E---4---3--2 In for those three chords (in my opinion sounds better because of that 2-4-4-3-2-0 chord but Chris plays it the first way so Ill put that as the main version. Don't forget to end on Ab!: E--0 B--0(or 4) G--5 D--6 A--6 E--4 Thanks guys enjoy! Tell me if you find any errors P.S. I made a youtube vid with the record track in the background. I think it sounds pretty complimentary! Check it out below [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0uHyZRIqhE]YouTube - Strawberry Swing - Coldplay acoustic, as played live (tabs included)[/ame]

A|---X-------X---------X-------------X---- E|---X-------X---------X-------------X---- Outro: Fm (bar the 8th fret) (try to mute the E string) e|---8---- B|---9---- G|---10--- D|---10--- A|---8---- E|---X---- Db6 (bar the 6th fret) e|---6---- B|---6---- G|---6---- D|---6---- A|---X---- E|---X---- Ab (bar the 4th, or individually place fingers and leave off the e string) e|---4---- B|---4---- G|---5---- D|---6---- A|---X---- E|---X---- Eb (bar 8th fret) e|---8---- B|---8---- G|---8---- D|---8---- A|---X--- E|---X--- End on Fm. Coldplay Pedals
I'm looking for some good pedals to add effects to my new Les Paul Standard. I have a Marshall Class A tube amp, but it only has treble, mid, and bass controls :P. I got a BOSS DS-1 for distortion and it doesnt work for Coldplay and other songs, so Ill be returning that. Any pedal recommendations? Distortion, delay, reverb (RV-5??)?
