  1. Hey, appreciate this! Thank you so much. Mercy! Lulz. I've checked them all and I think I fell in love with Emily Loizeau. Maybe you could tell me more about her?
  2. This is such a perfect thread for me as I've been wanting to discover French music I might like. So I'm sure anybody here can help me. So a couple months ago I watched Ratatouille, and at the end of the movie, there's Camille with Le Festin playing. I fell in love with that song. Now what I ask of you guys is that I would like someone to point me more music like that. I might be wrong, but I'm guessing it's not mainly pop music, is it? It has this classical twist in it. But please don't give me like classical French music, it might bore me :P
  3. I listen to them every once in a while. Same like you, I've only listened to their last 2 albums. Not too big on Sainthood as it incorporated a lot of synth elements into it. The Con was catchy and alright eventhough it got boring quite easily.
  4. Haha I was just kidding with the term teeny bopper. About your listening pleasure, it's each to their own :) And thanks for the info on Gorillaz - Clash.
  5. Half of The Clash???? Could you please elaborate on this? Yeah I got what you mean, don't worry lulz. But I hope you're not one of those teeny boppers who are overly obsessed over something.
  6. Yeah, hating on mainstream is a bit irritating. Some of them are as talented and stay to their roots. But yeah, I noticed anyway.
  7. Lols why the hate guys?
  8. Hi the other D! I just got into the Gorillaz recently, so not really familiar about any details (2D in this case). Been a fan of their hit singles for years, but just got through the whole album (Demon Days) thoroughly and I thought the album was exceptional. It's great. I'll try to get into their first album soon.
  9. Anyone a fan of Cilmi?
  10. I'm D and I'm a bloke haha. Don't ask me about my username, I don't even know how I still use this lols. But yeah, about the Britpop thing, I'm not really sure since I'm not really into Blur, fancying only a few of their songs. But I guess Britpop was big when Oasis were huge back then, correct me if I'm wrong for this one.. The way I see about pre-recorded backtracks is that they could as well use backtracks for everything and just sing live. That's how I come up with the term 'unoriginal'.
  11. ^ Lols I even thought the first picture was Jude.
  12. In Blur, to me he was just that guy who wrote catchy tunes and was helped by their guitarist. But in Gorillaz, he's the mind behind the whole band/concept. He's the one who comes up with all these ideas on how to make music diversification. Well, yes I agree there are tons of parts to integrate all of that in concerts, but I feel like they use too much pre-recorded stuff, they could have hired local artists if it's too much of a trouble taking their own personnels with them. But like I said, that's probably just me. And yeah, I'm a newbie here, thanks for the warm welcome :)
  13. Damon Albarn is a genius when it comes to songwriting. I'm talking about him being in Gorillaz of course. But too bad at concerts, they use too many samples and pre-recorded track. Complexity is made easy, thus the lack of originality. Maybe that's just me though.

He wanted to. But then he looked at the stars, looked at how they shined for him. Mars outshined the stars. So he's still going for red.
  15. I've only listened to it once, but yeah it was pretty disappointing, but maybe it is a grower. Hope so.
