most of my mates are very ignorant when it comes to alt.rock or indie stuff (especially Coldplay) but the other day I was talking to one of them about Oxegen and about Coldplay headlining. I told him he should at least give them a chance and I lent him my copy of Parachutes. The next day he told me that they were 'fucking awesome' and that every track on the album was brilliant. It's great knowing that he really hated them but now he loves them, pity the others can't be as open minded!

got my new ipod speakers today :D so I thought i'd christen them with a Coldplay song. After much debate I finally chose Death And All His Friends, then I thought how lucky my new speakers were to be playing Coldplay songs.

in no particular order Rainy Day (it's just not like the Coldplay style in my opinion, at times I get into it but other times I just don't get it) Viva La Vida (but i love singing it at the concerts, who doesn't right? ha) Lost+ (why did they collaborate with of all people Jay-Z?) A Whisper (didn't understand what Chris was saying until I got the lyrics for it) X&Y (apart from 3 or 4 songs on the album this is my least favourite album but this track is my least from the album) I still wouldn't skip any of them but I just find these 5 just don't go down well with me.

went to see Rango today, i liked it, the animation was really good, Depp was as usual great and the story was a bit predictable but it was nice. I'd give it 7.5/10 :)

well all my life it's always been one band that has been in the centre of attention for me, Oasis was my childhood then up till i think '09 it was only Coldplay and Snow Patrol, in the last 2 years my music taste has broadened quite a lot but at the end of the day coldplay and snow patrol are definitely and will always be my two top bands.

well i've a lot of songs that have the potential to become part of it but if i really get into a song i listen to i could go on for days listening to it and nothing else like there was one time were i listened to open your eyes i think for almost 2 months straight and i can see myself doing something similar with everything's not lost (yes, i am quite obsessive haha)

the only other songs that do that to me is open your eyes by snow patrol, amsterdam and fix you, so i now have a new member in the exclusive goosebump club. Hopefully they'll play it at Oxegen, that and shiver and i'll be sorted :D

i like politiks ending and of course fix you is beautiful. death and all his friends is great especially live. Everything's not lost deserves a mention and VLV is a good one to sing at the top of your lungs.

I think we do and even though i wasn't at any of the crisis gigs it was nice to see a lot of older songs in the setlist, plus after about 3 years of a viva la vida setlist maybe this summer if they stick to what they said and not play some new material then maybe a setlist of old stuff could be on the cards, fingers crossed. I wasn't too fussy on it until like a month ago when i started listening to coldplay again cos i've been in a long phase where I haven't been to keen on them. But when Chris hits the high note on the yeah and then Will comes in on the drums and Johnny gets a different rhythm on the guitar I got goosebumps and i've had it on repeat every night since. in fact i'm off to listen to it now :)

does anyone know if everything's not lost got played at all live on the viva tour? if not then does anyone know when it was last played live? it's turning into one of my favourite songs by them and i've watched them singing it at glasto '05 loads of times and it's getting me all sentimentalish ha. Hope they bring it back for the summer :)

i don't think ufo could be a theme, considering muse have just finished a world tour with sci-fi, ufo, rebellion theme i think it wouldn't be right. maybe though ufo could stand for something as another clue other than what ufo stands for. After reading the build up to LP4 on wikicoldplay, there's definitely similarities like rolling stones giving us track names and NME giving us some a couple of months ago, a new website on paddy's day 08 and now a new one today. I wouldn't be surprised if the MX is to throw us off the possibility of an early release if it has been deciphered rightly. I think there'll be a new album sooner than expected.

well if you get to the front they give out free cups of water which is a life saver if you plan on sticking round for long like i did last year. i managed to get to the front for everyone i saw except for the coronas, bombay bicycle club (but there was only like 2 or 3 rows of people in front) and mumford and sons and there was only one person in front of me. Just bring food with you that won't go off or melt and you'll be sorted. This will be the 2nd time i've gone so hopefully i'll learn from last years experience to make up for what i did wrong then, which was quite a lot really ha got my ticket for it today, so psyched for it can't wait now!

i don't blame you, plus oxegen is a really cool festival. I know that on the sunday i'll be going to the main stage as soon possible and stay there for the day no matter who is on before the strokes and coldplay, just pray it's good bands (good things come to those who wait!)

i'm definitely going, just have to sell basically all my stuff probably including myself haha foo fighters and arctic monkeys on the saturday then the strokes and coldplay on sunday, i think my soul would die if i miss it to be honest
