Posted my photos off to Guy yesterday. I had a great time looking in the shops around here in western NY. Best deal was in the local crafts and antique co-op; I got a whole plastic baggie full of photos of Letchworth Gorge dated 1948 for only $2. I sent off some other photos of people and places as well. I can't wait to see what he does with them.

Did anybody else get out Parachutes and listen to it last night to celebrate the anniversary? I did -- and although I listen to their songs all the time, what a treat to consciously revisit such wonderful music and think about how far this fantastic band has come in a relatively short period of time. I'm torn between X&Y because that's when I discovered them and the first album of theirs that I bought, and VLV because that's when I saw them live and became well and truly obsessed.

My copy arrived from Amazon yesterday (I ordered it in April) and I immediately dropped everything and just devoured it. I truly enjoyed it. I like Matt's breezy style (and some knowledge of British slang helps) and he made me laugh out loud in several spots. This is a great look at how hard these folks work behind the scenes. Well done, Matt!

This thread made me think about what makes a song "perfect". To me a "perfect" song immediately grabs attention, has lyrics that one can remember, a definite beginning, middle, and end. To me that is The Scientist.
