Okay, for the Viva era, there was alot of artwork. Just about every CD was a hand painted peice of art. My questions is, is there any or would anyone make a wallpaper for my computer from this artwork? Also, It would be awesome if we could collect all that artwork in one thread..... <-- I think someone made this, idk if this is official also, what others came out of the VIVA era? If someone could make a Lovers in Japan widescreen wallpaper, I may just die from the joy.
  2. I heard Life in Technicolor in a Walgreens in a suburb of Chicago. I was like WTF? after that song was Matchbox 20, how far weve come.
  3. ^^^ I respect your bluntness and honesty :)
  4. I would say it is questionable because Johnny said it was questionable.
  5. trolololol! You guys are putting into words everything I have been thinking!
  6. I want to sit in both. A couch is a seat, and my lifelong dream is to get into a kangaroo pouch,
  7. all I am saying is Coldplays albums are Theme related NOT story related, that is all.
  8. Agreed. It could be either way as long as the song gets some form of release, I will be happy,
  9. We are just saying that X&Y has a meaning rooted in the Baudot code. As far as we know, there is no sort of translation for Mylo Xyloto. Its just a jumble of letters for all we know.
  10. I would completely agree with you if.... '"Major Minus," on the other hand, seems solid as an integral part of the album's concept. "I don't think we'll leave that one off, because it's supposed to be a sort of villainous, dark piece," Martin says. "The baddie. The Bond villain, an Orwellian thing. It came from reading 'The Road' from Cormac McCarthy."' If Major Minus is a definate, I feel HLH will be cut.
  11. I see what you mean but i wouldnt call it "adding to the over all story" I would say "adding to the overall themes". Thats what VIVA had, themes, not a story.
  12. I can see what you mean, but I feel like I would personally want to find out what is the B-side to Paradise and then you would have a good chance of tracklistings. The titles of their songs rarely have anything to do with the meaning though. (lately) Major Minus, Viva La Vida, Charlie Brown, etc. I just think to look at the song titles and try and see the meanings is a longshot.
  13. Your right. I cant formulate my own thoughts. I guess thats why I didnt put "That's my take/opinion" at the end. oh wait I did..... I guess if you want to try and troll me, then lets do it. You obviously lack the ability to read properly. Read my post, and then stop being a fool. Also, VIVA didnt tell a story, (THE ALBUM). the song did. All the songs did indevidually, but not collectivly. If you want to draw really loose and poorly constructed lines between songs, I suppose you could create a really loose story, but there isnt much there. It had similar themes between songs, but it wasnt any story. So why should Mylo Xyloto be any different?
  14. I dont understand why people are looking sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo deaply into the track listing. Coldplay has never used their albums to tell a story, (They may try this time) but they aren't great novelists, so its not going to be as in depth as you say. The tracklisting is going to be what fits/works well together in the end, and that is that. Its not going to be decided because Chris said "Well thing song works well with the story that we are trying to tell by having people listen to our album." We will just have to wait and see. I dont understand how you can speculate the track listing when we have only hurt 5ish songs. To try and guess the final list is fruitless. That is my take/opinion.
  15. I dunno if you will get this reference, but reading that made me think of the movie Ratatouille when Remmy is talking about how the colors and metal images of the food mixes..lol
  16. If major minus is a definite, then Hurts like Heaven shouldnt. If you want a smooth album, like they seem to want. (IE Arcade Fire's The Suburbs, an album that flows smoothly) then you cant have the dark/haunting Major Minus, and then the popish Hurts like Heaven. Its like why Glass of Water wasnt on Viva. How can you sing about "Got one eye on the road and one on you" and "Dont believe a word" with a rattling guitar and then have a popish "Fire from my belly and the beat from my heart" and "You used your heart as a weapon, and it hurts like heaven". If they want to create a smooth album, then they will not include HLH if Major Minus is on there. It has nothing to do with Schizophrenia, you just have to transition your songs smoothly, and have songs that actually transition. I love glass of water, and I think HLH is this albums glass of water. It wont make the cut, but we will get a studio version somtimes. Just remember, just because a song is catchy and good, doesnt mean it belongs or fits the theme of the album.
  17. It doesnt need to be on the album I think people just want to make sure that a studio version comes out in some form.. personally, I do not want it on the album because it is a good stadium song and catchy, but as far as the album goes it doesnt fit. If you want to craft a smooth album, i dont think HLH will be on there. Im hoping it is a B-Side to Paradise.
  18. I wouldnt say that we (especially me) like only mainstream bands. Coldplay and the Killers I like. I do not listen to the radio or youtube views. I listen to what I like. Whether it is mainstream or not. I have thrown the term "mainstream" out the window because it has become a stupid term. Its somehow bad to like mainstream music (in alot of peoples views). I listen to what sounds good. Whether it be Coldplay or the Fossil Collective. I just dont think the word mainstream should be used anymore. Every band strives to be popular, because that is the goal. You get more fans, and you make music that more people listen to. But once a band achieves that, they are "sell outs" or they get VEVO accounts. Im sorry but somehow being good at what you do makes you bad. Its a catch 22. How can a band be succesful today then? I just say we forget mainstream and just listen to what we like.
  19. I say their final record will be LP42 it seems fitting
  20. I was quoting Rielly or whatever his name is but whatever.
  21. Im pretty sure they said in the interview that they think the album will be under 50 minutes. I may be wrong, but I do not recall a definate 42.5
  22. Well that depends. The songs you listed really make me think you are a coldplay for chris martins voice, and a good beat. I like coldplay for their musicality. Some of my favorite songs are their instrumentals. Two of my favorites are Life in Technicolour and Famous Old Painters. That to me is music and the true test of a band. Anyone can replay the same 2 measure melody and sing over it. Thats all music is today, what sets a band apart is how they craft their music and their albums. Life in Technicolor was the best part of Viva IMO. You strike me as a loser hipster. Anything mainstream you do not like. I may be wrong but I sense that you are. I revert to my previous statement. Listen to famous old painters and then say they arnt good musicians. That is music at its core. A beautiful melody. and yes you are a troll YOUR ON A COLDPLAY FANSITE SAYING COLDPLAY SUCKS. If that isnt trolling I dunno what is..
