  1. I don't know what that is, just like all of coldplays album titles when they are announced.... New word, Ethiopia.
  2. your a waste to the server...all you do is knock forum threads that you don't seem to think is important enough.
  3. Crests of Waves, Swallowed in the Sea, Spies, The Goldrush, Major Minus I just picked one from each album era. If I had to choose one.... Swallowed in the Sea.
  4. well considering the oracle just said UATW's symbol is a person, using the letters CK which is meant to mean Car Kids....Id say the song got folded into that one. Probably the melody was that, but they changed the lyrics to fit MX. But since we are all trolling. enfants de voiture!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Good God people. YOU ASSUME ENO IS THE REASON FOR THIS. The band are adults, they okayed it, (ENO isnt even a producer on this album) So if you don't like it, blame Rik and the Band.
  6. Why do you guys want a song that you have never heard so badly. You act like it is the best song ever written...or not written?
  7. Watching, loving how they are playing Stylo...totally getting me pumped for Coldplay lol
  8. You act like having a thread is some sort of privilege. Why does it matter if he started a thread? Whats it to you? Makes no difference.
  9. lolz. You guys think that Brian Eno influenced this album??? He helped with ideas, but the final mixing is up to the band and Simpson and Green. Eno only gave ideas on this album. You people are whining and assuming that because Eno wasnt there for the first three albums, he is responcible for all the changes. COLDPLAY WOULD NOT RELEASE SOMETHING THAT THEY DIDNT APPROVE OF. Its not like coldplay was like "We dont like the production of this album!" and Eno/ the other producers said "WELL YOU HAVE NO SAY SO SHUT UP". I work for a small record label. Lets be real people. Coldplay approved of this album, so don't blame ENO for the sound of it. Blame the band for the sound if you dont like it. However I love it.
  10. Not comparable. Mylo Xyloto is an album that is basically supposed to be like a book. Each song is a chapter....they all come together to tell a story that is the book. Viva la Vida is like a collection of short stories. The songs where related but only in theme, not in story. Good album, but MX is meant to be heard all the way through. I feel that to take one song and compare it to Viva would be like taking one chapter of Lord of the Rings and comparing it to a story in a collection of short stories. My opinion.
  11. I will just make this quick. Mylo Xyloto - 7/10 Hurts Like Heaven - 9/10 Paradise - 8/10 Charlie Brown - 10/10 Us Against the World - 15/10 MMIX - 6/10 Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall - 8/10 Major Minus - 8/10 UFO - 8/10 Princess of China - 9/10 Up in Flames - 8.5/10 A Hopeful Transmission - 8/10 Don't Let It Break Your Heart - 8/10 Up with the Birds - 8/10 I loved us against the world. Best song on the album for me, probably because I can relate to the lyrics and how they built the song. The album overall gets an 8.75/10. I find it difficult to compare the albums (i.e. "This isnt as good as AROBTTH") Each album had different positives and negatives for me. Yes it is too overproduced...but I like that. I love the spacey vibes it gives off. It just makes me me feel like I am being taken on a journey. Defiantly an album that needs to be listened to all the way through, which is what I have been waiting for Coldplay to do for 11 years. Individually I may not have rated the songs highly, but together they blend extremely well. but here is a comparison. Parachutes : 7/10 A Rush of Blood to the Head: 9.5/10 X&Y: 8/10 Viva La Vida: 8.5/10 Mylo Xyloto 8.75/10
  12. I knew the vocals would be like this, because if you listen on youtube..people already uploaded the backing tracks that were played softly during the live versions. So in a way I was expecting this...maybe that is why I love it so much
  13. Okay, this thread is basically for people who like what they have heard so far. Although, there will be trolls that will probably appear. Why do you like MX so far? I feel that this may tie my favorite album (Viva). The issue I had with Viva was that it wasnt a comprehensive album...which is something I really like. Viva had some of the best overall quality music, but the record could have been arranged a little better. Although MX may not have the best tracks (they are still really good in my opinion) they are supposedly ordered into a comprehensive album which is meant to be heard from start to finish. I love to throw a CD in the car and drive while listening to a whole album. I do not like an album that is a collection of songs that are really not related. Song by song breakdown (My Opinion) Us against the World : 9/10....reminds me of Kingdom of Heaven which I loved. Every Teardrop: 6/10... Yes it is catchy but not much depth to the song lyrically. Major Minus: 8/10 .....I love the voice effects and I love the words "one eye on the road and one on you.) P.S...the Road is my favorite book which is where Chris drew inspiration from. Charlie Brown: 8.5/10 ...its going to be a great studio song, but the reason its not a 9 is because it doesn't sound 'big' to me....soundwise. It sounds kinda muffled from what I have heard. May change when i hear the studio. Paradise: 8/10 .....Catchy, strings, and I feel that in the context of the album, will sound great. Hurts like Heaven: 8.5/10 ....definatly going to be on my playlist when I go for a run. Princess of China: 8/10 ... I Love Rhianna in the song...I love the bass...and I may change it to a 9 when heard in the context of the album, and not off some radio stream. I will always keep classic Coldplay close to my heart because that is what I fell in love with originally, but their new music is something special. The beats (PoC), the catchiness (HLH) the depth (CB). I feel that MX might be Coldplay's best overall album effort...and that is why I am stoked for this album. Why do you guys feel MX has promise?
  14. Im gonna be that guy All of them Us against the World if I was FORCED, with PoC and Hurts like Heaven in a close 2nd.
  15. I like it because.. 1.) Rhianna. She has a voice. You cannot deny that. 2.) The 'lalalalala' part. Chris and Rhianna's voice go together amazingly. 3.) The bass. I love house and electonica music, so I am a guy who likes some bass. 4.) Its different than anything they have ever done. There is one con, I have not heard it in the context of the album
  16. I love the famous old painters that leaked. Haters can hate, but Chris's voice would have ruined the beauty of that instrumental To this day, Famous Old Painters is my favorite Coldplay song. Followed by Life in Technicolor. Their instrumentals sound better to mean than the ones with chris's voice That is my opinion though,.
  17. why are people freaking out over a song that we have never heard. "OMG CAR KIDS HAS TO BE ON THERE!" (<--thats what Ive seen people on the forum post) If you have never heard it, then how could you say it has to be on there.? For all we know, Car Kids could be a two minute track of kids whining and screaming in a car while the parents try to keep them quiet because they are going through a McDonalds drive through and the kids are not getting the xtra large mcnugget meal.
  18. I honestly think it is the same...because the Moving man walks IN TIME, and that is a video. Plus there is a backing track that I am sure is on the album. Its like a metronome. I think that what we have heard in the concerts is the time...and I really ahvent noticed a difference in time between all of the live versions, but that may be just me.
  19. By "we" Ill assume you mean "you" I liked Coldplay since AROBTTH and I must say, VIVA is my favorite record. It is their most polished and sophisticated ALBUM. My opinion though Then again, I am a sucker for any song/album that includes strings and other orchestral instruments.
  20. I like this article because it basically reminds us that We have heard 2 songs that are questionable. Paradise and ETIAW. Major Minus I think people like, they just PREFER the live version without the voice. People are saying this is a phase and this wont be a good album, but we have only heard two songs that many people dislike.
  21. Whether you like it or not, popish music IS the white rose movement. If you ever have studied that movement, they didnt go around painting street art and singing "lets go back to the start". Lets be real here, traditional Coldplay doesnt fit with street art. Its far from it. Kudos to Coldplay for going out of their comfort zone and trying something new. If they listened to some of the people on this board and went back to rush of blood music, they would die out. If you are not lady gaga or a rapper, you either have to evolve or die in the music industry. I personally like Paradise, For the first time since X&Y, Coldplay sounds "Big" again. The Song itself just sounds massive (If that makes any sense to you guys). It isnt synth driven. If you have any sort of decent speakers or headphones, you will realized those are electric chellos and other strings. Coldplay is changing, I like it personally. I love coldplay for their melodies, and paradise has a damn good melody. Major Minus has a melody. For someone who listens to for their lyrics, then you are entitled not to like it....but this is an album inspired by the white rose movement, so it will sound different. Thats my opinion.
  22. Just because the attacks on the US occured on 9/11 does not mean that anything released on or near that day cannot be happy. At some point you have to realize that you have to move forward, and not dwell on the past.
  23. I bought the shirt when I was at Lollapalooza, definatly better than the ETIAW ones. I think that we all already knew it would be released in some form. The song is too good for the band to let fly away. it may not make the album, but it will make it into our hands somehow.
  24. DLIBYH <----what is that acronym? someone said they hoped DLIBYH is on there.. Im horrible with acronyms.
