  1. Those who went to ITunes were already lucky winners. I said it before and will again...I have never won a Coldplay contest but still consider myself lucky enough to have seen them perform live. I am trying to convince myself not to be disheartened if I don't win for fri or sat and pray that Sunday goes well :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Oh my! I must have seen you though the crowd got pretty dense a couple of hours before showtime. My husband was being very protective of me that night because of my two broken feet, LOL.
  3. I thought they might all be at Sony so that they don't have to reset the the amps and gear. Thanks for the info!
  4. Standing up front reminds me of the Lalapalooza and ACL festivals in 2011 when Coldplay was road testing MX. We waited for hours and then, before CP came on, I tripped over someone sitting on the ground and broke my ankle. I didn't go to the medic tent and, I swear, I didn't feel any pain until after the show. Then, just before ACL, I broke another bone on my other foot, so I was at ACL with TWO surgical boots. That night, I was really feeling the pain waiting for them to come out. Near the end of the show, Chris Martin jumped off stage and I leaned forward (we were by the railing) to take a photo and my husband grabbed me by the back of the shirt and pulled me back! He didn't want me to break another bone. I have a photo from that night with the stage behind me and I looked SO HAPPY. That's why I think I like Coldplay. For an old chick who went crazy for the Beatles, Coldplay is more "accessible" and makes me feel happy.
  5. BTW…That's the last time I saw them live so I'm really excited about seeing them this weekend. And then back to work for me (until they go to NYC, hopefully)
  6. During the Viva tour, I used the Cyber Shot and got great photos. Then during MX, something seemed to go wrong at every show I attend so I gave up on it and used my cell phone at last show. I was so disappointed because some shots were blurry (though some were kind of cool in their blurriness.) I may try Cyber Shot again on Sunday!
  7. I did hear that they will be in NYC soon but don't know when. It was another "inside" source.
  8. Do you know the venues yet for Fri or Sat? Great that you will be with friends/husband. Us Coldplayers have to have understanding husbands! Unfortunately, mine couldn't make the trip this weekend. Pleast let us now when you get the venue info for Sat!
  9. How lucky can you be? How did you get tickets for Saturday? Did they already announce the winners of that lottery? I have a ticket for Sunday…had your same experience and I thought the system was rigged because the "High Demand" note kept popping up. So I switched to "1" and got a ticket; decided to not try to invite a friend to come along. Would love to see them three nights in a row, but I'll have to be patient. (I'm not an LA resident so I wondered how closely they would stick to that rule in the lottery. Anyway, have fun!
  10. I was so swamped with work that I lost track of the ticket lotteries. I bought a ticket for Sunday's show and registered for the Fri and Sat ticket giveaways but have no hopes of getting those tickets since I'm not a resident of CA. Have the tickets for Saturday's show already been given away or are folks still waiting to be notified. Also, do we know with certainty where the Fri and Sat shows will be held? Trying to figure out where to park myself for those three days. I used to live in CA and you don't want to get stuck in traffic Fridays or Saturdays! Thanks for any answers folks might have to my questions. And good luck to the winners; perhaps I will see some of you at the Sunday show if there are no snags with my ticket purchase (I did get a confirmation but with my luck, one never knows!)
  11. I also am in the queue for either night. Fingers crossed.
  12. I changed my vote from a 9 to a 10 on the poll. Granted, the lyrics on their songs have not been as great as on pre MX albums -- my fav: "When your life is architectured by a carnival of idiots on show you better lie low" -- but the more you listen, the more you pick up the complexity of the production. It's also more accessible to the general music-listening population than Midnight, if you know what I mean. I am hoping this album grows even better with each new single that is released.
  13. Response to person from CA who showed up at Moody Theater eve of ACL and got fix to see Coldplay's TV taping show: AWESOME stroke of good luck. If I didn't have a crowded work schedule, I'd fly down for the off chance of getting tickets at the door. But not winning made me think my bad luck would continue to the door of the Moody Theater:) Having my daily music session with Coldplay now so I'll look forward to watching from home.
  14. I remember when Coldplay appeared at the same theater the night before Austin City Limits fest in 2011, they did a similar ticket lottery giveaway and there were folks standing outside the theater with extra tickets they could not use and were giving them away to anyone who happened to come by in search of tickets. I saw a couple of folks who got in that way. That's when they were road testing MX tracks before album was released.
  15. There were two separate ticket lotteries, as I understand it. One was sponsored by Coldplay "50 pairs of tickets," is what the band advertised, and the other was sponsored by ITunes and the rules stated you had to be from major cities in Texas (it asked for your address.) My sister applied and I thought of doing so myself, but didn't have a TX address. Did you sign up for tickets on the Coldplay website or ITunes? Incidentally, there are people in TX who think they can buy tickets because there are inexpensive tickets available for other shows. But for Coldplay, it seems that ITunes wants to drive traffic to its net cast.
  16. BTW…I"m a native Texan but live in DC so I urged my family to submit entries for the ITUNES tix since those were being given only to TX residents. No one in my family has won as far as I know. Good luck to those lucky enough to attend this one (I assume many on this site have seen Coldplay live and know what an awesome experience it is!)
  17. The contest is rigged:) I've never won a Coldplay contest but I sure wanted to win fix for ITUNES fest. Was ready to book a flight and have a place to stay. At my age (I must be the head of the Senior Citizens Coldplay Fan Club), I can only pray that they take their new album on tour FAST :)
  18. Thank you Coldplay OMG! Coldplay was amazing tonight. The cynic that I am wanted to doubt the magic of the wristbands as just another flash in a dark sky. But the ministers of spray can soul infused the venue with an energy bound together by those bands that lit up under the band's direction. Lights pulsating to the beat of Charlie Brown melded into a softer sway with Paradise, reminding us that we are a community, willing to work and play together when given the inspiration. Too bad the kindred spirit evaporates in the summer heat. But as Coldplay reminds us, "it's us against the world, and we've just got to stand up to be heard." Amen.
  19. It's been nine months since I saw the boys live and I am now counting down to the three shows I will be seeing soon. I am especially thrilled that Speed of Sound is on the set list, as I have never heard them perform that live. (I missed the X&Y tour!) The last time I was on this forum, I had just recovered from two broken feet, which didn't stop me from attending last year's festivals. This time, my old and worn out body will be able to jump high with my flashing wristbands! How splendid!
  20. Congrats to the winners but I proclaim myself an honorable mention. I broke my foot waiting for Coldplay at Lollapalooza, and then, as I awaited patiently to see them at ACL, I broke my other foot while evacuating from our office building during the East Coast earthquake two days ago! Somehow, I will make it to ACL, but I doubt I can make it close to the stage given my two broken feet! But hey, this is fan dedication!
  21. Terrific set list, but what was it with forgetting the lyrics? Chris Martin seemed unfocused at the start. But hey, how can you not love Coldplay?
