Coldplay's Magic is a grower in my opinion and obviously this is not POP(which is a good thing) :D so i don't think this will go to the top 10. i think this would be top 40 at the very least. what do u guys think?
  2. excited!! :D
  3. nope, it went number 4 in the UK and number 20 in the US... its a hit by coldplay's standards, besides, just because it has rihanna in it doesnt guarantee a number one, Where have you been has not reached number one in the US and in the UK. in fact, POC is more successful than Where have you been, in the UK. :wink3:
  4. well said!!!! but i love the song though!!! :D
  5. this is bigotry at its finest ;) look who's talking now ;) :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky: :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:
  6. if your definition of "it didn't work" is a #20 placing in the US billboard Hot 100 and a near platinum sales in the US, then every artist would envy coldplay :) :) :)
  7. for me, the critics are hounding coldplay just for the sake of it, good thing the music critics have been much appreciative of coldplay lately(pitchfork as an example) and i really think that in a few years to come, there will be a much better re-appraisal of coldplay's music and its place in our culture.
  8. with all due respect to radiohead, i think the general public 50 years on will remember more songs from coldplay than radiohead. coldplay has had numerous crossover hits that transcended beyond their alternative roots and into mainstream consciousness. being mainstream does not necessarily mean your songs are bad and low quality, take a look at coldplay's hits like Yellow, Clocks, Viva la Vida etc, their memorable. Radiohead, with all their sonic sophistication, has been stuck in the extreme alternative field and its a fact that not many people hear their songs a lot. Only the snob music critics and some snob fans praise them for their work. just because coldplay's music is simple and straightforward does not make it low quality... look at the song Yesterday by the Beatles(penned by Paul Mccartney) its a very simple, nothing really special, sophisticated song, its now a classic. Simplicity is actually a good way for people to remember a song.
  9. parachutes is 2x platinum in the US, VLV is 3x platinum in the US and it was only released in 2008, ;)
  10. NO, i have read in some articles that VLV has sold more than parachutes, and it is coldplays fastest selling abum worldwide and in the US
  11. "We hadn't had our own space since playing in my bedroom in 1996," laughs Buckland. This meant they could experiment more, which was something Coldplay had never done. It turned out that they were quite good at it, and the multi-part songs and lush sonic scope of Viva La Vida showed a very different side to the band. Though it is their least successful record to date it is their most ambitious and intriguing. how can Viva la Vida be the LEAST successful album when it sold like more than 9 million copies worldwide and 3 million in the US??????????????????????? ;)
  12. i hope they play CB and (by a long shot) POC!!!! :)
  13. which places are u referring to, if ur referring to the concert in edmonton and portland, the fans have been singing along and chanting that woah woahs from the song ;) my cousins were there at edmonton and i got friends from portland who were there, they hate POC but yeah, most of the other people were singing along and shouting the woahs woahs ;) :D:D:D:D
  14. oh, i thought 7?????????? im confused yet again
  15. their label should be burned to the stake for this singles releases mess
  16. can someone please enlighten me about the release date? it says here june 3rd, where is it gonna be released? cuz i thought they already released it in US POP radios last feb 14, i'm confused ;)
  17. Coldplay is a staple in Us alternative radio, Paradise went number one in US alternative radio, so basing from what the radio people thinks, theyre pretty much alternative ;) Itunes also put them in the alternative field ;) well, its a matter of opinions i guess :D
  18. yeah im on the other forum venting my frustration, but im not stanning, im just asking the same question, lol
  19. but it was REMOVED, from the airplay list, lol, an announcement that it will be a single wont magically make POC re appear on the airplay list, lol :)
  20. i just cant beleive it, POC flops in the US, it was just removed from the airplay list :( :( :( this is a sad day cuz its one of my favorite tracks from mylo :(
  21. 25 = Coldplay - Paradise 135 4 1.716 18.6 this means that the abum version of paradise has already sold 1.7 million copies on itunes, if you combine the album version from the removed version (which has sold 440, 000 plus copies) this means that paradise has alreay sold 2.1 milion in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
