  1. The bad reviews are pouring in... just do a search of ghost stories reviews. I believe that this will be Coldplay's worst reviewed album far worse than X&Y.. which is good because after the upset of X&Y they came back with VIVA. The band might take this time to reflect on there mistakes and realize that they took the electronic sound a bit to far this time...
  2. Let's face the truth coldplayers.... This album blows! And the problem is Chris Martin. He's gone way to deep in that Hollywood life and the results are soulless lyrics and overproduced music that aspires to be on top of the pop charts. By the way in Los Angeles ASFOS is a total flop.. The juggernaut rock radio station here won't play it because it's to pop and The pop stations won't play it because frankly it's that same avici song all over again. Remember what the oracle answered when asked why avici was asked to help. The answer was " because Chris loves avici" he didn't say jonny or will or the band.. This is all Chris martin... The guys are just smart enough to not turn down the millions that come with being in the band.. I personally recommend listening to kings of Leon. There is a band that has avoided overproduction and write some descent lyrics they have evolved without alienating there fans... Something that this band wasn't able to do ASFOS is an avici song featuring Chris Martin!
  3. I just saw the 2012 live dvd this weekend. I gotta say it was a good dvd, especially since this was the first tour that i was not able to attend. So I was glad that i got to see it on dvd.. But this does not compare to there 2002 live dvd. live 2002 was a true film, it was shot in 16mm film and the cinematography was award winning. I feel that like mylo xyloto the 2012 coldplay film was overproduced... For instance in 2002 dvd when jonny goes into his epic solo on arobtth the camera focuses on him as he walks out of the shadows and you see him perform his solo and it leaves you in awe, there are many moments like that on 2002 live. The new live dvd lacked that. I felt that they focused way to much on the crowd and production of the show rather that the band itself.. there are parts where you wanna see jonny play that riff, or martin strum his guitar and instead that shot is focused on the crowd, or the video is too distorted to see what is going on.. this dvd really lacked that intimacy and that feeling of "hey this band is really onto something" moment. It felt more like individual music videos threaded together. 2002 felt like a story from begining to end. I know someone out there has to agree.
  4. well Im ready to move on from and start waiting for lp6, anyone else feel the same way? The mx era will be known for two things great live shows and single flops.... I know many of you might say that there singles never do that well, but they never done this bad either... I live in los angeles were we embrace everything coldplay but this era has been a disaster. there latest poc single is another flop here. many may say that its doing well in the uk or in europe and its #1 in some small chart like the "social chart" or whatever.. but the truth is coldplay have managed to go from a world act to a band that only succeeds in there native uk or europe they have lost there world sound, and i know they have to be dissapointed in that.
  5. ya that's why I said states U.S.A... it did horrible here. Its interesting that here where I live In los angeles, california. u.s.a there cover of beastie boys is being played more than paradise or Cb or etiaw ever was.
  6. so can anyone answer this;; why does poc get an official announcement on coldplay.com about it being released as a single, and CB got nothing.. which contributed to the fact that CB flopped horribly in the states.. all it got was a a mention in the recordings section saying that it had been released in february? It was the most confusing single release ever.
  7. february 3rd! that is utter BS! it's on the website now so it'a a fact that according to them it was released on feb 3rd... but it makes no sense, why was there never an announcement? why did they put that up until now? the records that were released were posted on coldplay.com the day the record was released, CB has been out for almost two months and they just put it in there recordings section? I myself asked the oracle several times wether CB had been released or not, and I never got a response..and I dont think I was the only one. So I think that after so much Confusion the honchos at coldplay.com or coldplay just decided to throw a date out there and picked feb. 3rd... but whatever the case CB has flopped terribly.. If it would have been the 1st single mylo xyloto would have done alot better, and would be remembered for next years grammys. now were stuck listining to friekenn gotya over and over again!
  8. sorry my friend but it's a possibility, CM taste in music has evolved and it will get to the point where the "musical Boundaries" of coldplay will limit him and he will want to explore something completely different..he really likes that synth pop sound.. it will probably be something like the pinkbunny experience featuring chris martin. :laugh3: and while we all know that CM and johhny are tied at the hip, and so is will.. we can all tell that guy is the most distant from the band.. and you can tell by the albums that he's produced that his taste in music is very different
  9. It sad to see how charlie brown flopped on the music charts.. all us coldplayers thought that it would be a great hit, but it just wasnt. what do we know right? haha. it might be charting on uk charts, but stateside it just hasnt appeared..and its not getting any airplay.. Interesting fact is that POC has charted here! on the weekly top 40 hosted by ryan seacrest here in the states it has charted already in the 30's if i remember correctly..and it hasnt even been officialy released. But then again CB was never officialy release either so i guess thats the route there going. I dont expect anymore single releases from this LP.. I imagine they want to put this Lp away as quickly as possible, and i suspect them taking a long hiatus after this., they will resurface maybe 4 or five years later. That is if CM doesnt start his solo career, or guy leaves the band.. guy isnt very happy with the direction that CM has taken the band.
  10. ya i do listen to 98.7 or kroq mostly. 98.7 seems to be always riding on kkroq's coattail doesnt it? there always premiering "New" songs that kroq has been playing for months. haha... but about cb not being properly released.. there is some major confusion about that. it has been released, they themselves have said that its there latest single, and a music video for it was released more than a month ago. so what's going on? they announced paradise a month before it's release. I have a theory that there are major issues in coldplay management, and it wouldnt surprise me if there are changes after this lp.. maybe phil harvey back on as band manager! whaddaya think?
  11. It was interesting to hear how CM said on GMA that the band regrets naming the album mylo xyloto. I think they regret many decisions from lp5, including deciding to work with brian eno again. And in time only more regrets will come out. will get the truth once lp6 comes out...Its sad to say that charlie brown just wasnt the smash hit all us coldplayers thought it would be. it's not doing well here in the states... and in los angeles where i live, i hear this pathetic song called "somebody i used to know" by "GOTIA"? more than CB which is a travesty... we all know that CM really wants to make it in the states those are the charts that really count to him. i guess will just have to wait and see.
  12. and one more thing.... this is just my opinon. I was looking thru old coldplay articles from magazines that i saved during the x&y era, before x&y had been released, and CM was talking about how this is there best record yet and how they were so happy with it and confident about it.....well then during the VLV articles 4 years later they talked about how frustrated they where while recording x&y and how it almost broke them apart and how they didnt like the record, because to many people told them what to do. I have a feeling that three or four years from now when they release lp6 they will be saying the samething about MX. i think only time will tell about how they really feel about this album. with all that said a actually like MX more that VLV... i just hope this is the last time they work with brian eno, and it looks like it probably will be.
  13. I rarely comment on these forums, U usually just read other coldplayers comments. and last time i did comment fellow coldplayers picked on me for my bad grammer and composition, so please forgive me....but i feel like i wanted to see if anyone else agreed with me that someone in coldplay's management is gonna lose there job after this album... the decision to go with etiaw for the lead in single was a terrible one, i think we all agree with that now, and the charts also agree... and also the fact that the CB video release was delayed and then released before an official announcement of a CB single release. when do artist ever release a music video before the actuall record is released. by now mx has lost alot of momentum and CB might have been a great single months ago but now it may not chart as high. it just seems to me that there is some obvious disagreeing in the coldplay camp..sometimes a band has to do just that be a band and stick to playing there music and have other people decide when and how to release an lp, and it seems like the band might have to much control over these matters...they should leave it to the experts... or better experts which is my point exactly.
  14. hey fellow angelinos, it might be worth seeing them in another city, or at least waiting for the second leg of this tour, which trust me there wiil be.. i saw coldplay at the hollywood bowl in 2003, and while it is a historic venue, it's also a drag to see a band like coldplay at that venue, because of its small size and design bands are limited on what they can do with the place as far as staging and light show. the concert i saw in 2003 was a watered down version of there AROBTTH tour.. and the mx tour light show is something to see, so i dont wanna see a watered down version of it. plus the "hollywood bowl" is such small potatoes for a band like coldplay.. i would like to see them attempt to fill up staples center. i know they can do it! i dont know why there not trying it! personally my advice is to make an effort to see them in Las vegas whenever it is they get there (and you know they will) the mgm grand is such a better arena and the Las vegas crowd is sooooo much better than a yuppie filled to cool for school LA crowd
  15. so if EMI registred the domain name :mylo xyloto back in 2009, does that mean that they knew the name of lp5 since then? that's right after the release of vlv..
  16. its hard to day but all of us coldplayers have to start thinking about the possibilty that this might be coldplays last album. i know that chris has said it before but this time it might happen.. they cant ahndle mediocre success and this album seems to be heading that way. etiaw and paradise have both been dissapointments on the charts and if u look at the billboard hot 100 you see adele up there, she is busting thru genre's with her originality and lyrics.. she doesnt use synth machines or electric drum machines and dhe has hit singles...coldplay are obsessed with being the biggest band out there and this means sounding more pop to them.. a formula that so far is not working with this album... mylo xyloto will sale less then vlv and the band will call it quits..unless maybe they decide to drop brian eno and go back to ken nelson there old producer to go back to there roots.
  17. it's sad to say but i live in los angeles and i been scanning the radio and 'paradise' isnt getting played on the radio here...is this another flop? or is it to early to be played on the radio? also i hear that rock stations aren't gonna play it because it's not considered rock anymore.. i guess i have to hope they play it on our local pop stations :(
