  1. Well to be fair most of it's light hearted criticism. I'm a bit disappointed with the album and the way it's produced but it's their album if they and other people like it then that's all that matters really. I'm sure they won't get offended by me. Just in my opinion I can almost hear brilliance but it's overdone and is frustrating.
  2. Thought I'd join this thread cuz I don't particularly like the album on first listening. Positives for me are: * It's another Coldplay album. Hey we're all fans. They're still a great band and this gives us more to listen to. * It's a change of direction again. Sure most groups change a bit and they get slated when they don't but there's a few more styles added to Coldplay from this. * Most of the songs are brilliant ideas IMO. If produced differently I think I'd love it even more than A Rush of Blood. * Hopefully they keep Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown fast and don't mess with the vocals when they perform it live because they're great anthems. * Don't Let It Break Your Heart is brilliant.
  3. Thank you for editing Chris Martin's vocals to the extreme as if he's some random man off the street who can't sing. We all love Chris' voice.. seriously why would anyone with common sense think it needs 5 different pitched dubs over the top as well as some autotune :( Thank you for killing the drums in every track. The bass sounds are good but it outdoes the drums on almost every track. Quieter tracks like Us Against The World and Up in Flames need hardly any production on yet again Martin's vocals drown in stupid effects. Thanks Brian :(
  4. The ridiculously over the top production on ALL of the tracks. Even supposedly simple tracks like Up in Flames get ruined by fucking up Chris Martin's vocals. Disappointed because I really like the ideas of nearly all the tracks, just the production ruins them IMO Don't Let It Break Your Heart is sounding brilliant though I'll give it that.
  5. Hurts like Heaven was brilliant live. Album version is just meh. Lacks pace and the vocals are ruined. It's almost as if they think Chris Martin can't sing it's ridiculous
  6. Way too overproduced :( If this had the production of a Rush of Blood it could arguably be better. Bit of a waste in my first opinion but hopefully it'll grow. Might just have to listen to the live versions over the next few weeks instead..
  7. Absolutely love the live versions but this seems way too overproduced. Hopefully it'll grow and I'll get used to it but not really liking the opening to this album too much so far :(
  8. Just the way it works. It's not really Coldplay wanting to do well in the charts, it's just when you get someone like Rihanna to feature on a track, it's almost guaranteed to be a single so she maximises her revenue from the performance. Just business. Plus I actually think it sounds like a decent song anyway.. well the crap live version we've heard.
  9. I think it's U2 based on their longevity (or repetitiveness..) but possibly Coldplay in terms of their sound at times.
  10. Radiohead?
  11. It'll definitely be a single someday. Not saying it's all about money but it's unlikely Rihanna would contribute otherwise.
